Captain Samuel Bancroft Davis was the
   master of the Arlington, a Yarmouth owned
  ship of 849 tons, built in 1868. Captain Davis
 was the father of R.H. Davis, of R.H. Davis &
 Co. Ltd. who started a business in 1897 on the
 corner of Parade Street and Main Street. R.H.
 Davis & Co. Ltd. moved to its present location
                        twelve years later.
