Vortices And Singularites
Vortex flow always has a singularity in the flow
field at the location of the vortex
For example: the flow field of a simple two dimensional
vortex might take the form
v(tangential)=a/r;v(radial)=0;
where a is a constant scalar
thus both the direction and magnitude of the
velocity vector are undefined at the singular
point r=0
