Merely 6% believe that the internationally agreed 1.5-degree Celsius limit will be achieved.<\/p>\n<p>Many scientists paint a grim picture of the future, envisioning a &#8220;semi-dystopian&#8221; scenario characterized by famines, conflicts, and mass migration triggered by extreme weather events such as heatwaves, wildfires, floods, and storms.<\/p>\n<p>Expressing a mixture of despair and frustration, Gretta Pecl from the University of Tasmania remarked, &#8220;I think we are headed for major societal disruption within the next five years. [Authorities] will be overwhelmed by extreme event after extreme event, food production will be disrupted.
