The hurricane&#8217;s torrential rains have overwhelmed infrastructure, placing immense pressure on dams and levees in affected areas. In some regions, rainfall exceeded two feet, leading to widespread flooding and the displacement of thousands of residents.<\/p>\n<p>Moody&#8217;s Analytics estimated on Friday that property damage from Hurricane Helene could range between $15 billion and $26 billion. This includes damage to homes, businesses, and public infrastructure across a wide swath of the southeastern United States.<\/p>\n<p>So far, at least 52 people have been confirmed dead across five states\u2014Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.
