A SCIENCE NOTE
\nWhen you hear crows and blue jays screeching and diving in the air, it usually means they are mobbing a predator. Both species are highly territorial and will aggressively defend their space from threats such as hawks, owls, eagles, or even ground predators like foxes or cats.<\/p>\n

Blue jays and crows are known for their intelligence and strong alarm calls, often alerting other birds and animals to danger. If they are making a lot of noise and swooping down repeatedly, there’s a good chance a predator is nearby\u2014sometimes even a snake or raccoon in a tree.<\/p>\n

If you observe this behavior, look around, and you may spot the intruder they’re trying to drive away!<\/p>\n
