A SCIENCE NOTE<\/p>\n

The Giant Impact Hypothesis<\/strong> (also called the Theia Impact Hypothesis<\/strong>) is the leading theory for the Moon\u2019s formation. It proposes that around 4.5 billion years ago, a Mars-sized body, often referred to as Theia<\/strong>, collided with the early Earth. This massive impact ejected a significant amount of debris into orbit, which eventually coalesced to form the Moon.<\/p>\n
