Jack asked, “Lately I’ve been seeing lots of reports about the conflict between Israel, Iran and the US. lots of news stations are reporting that this is the beginning of WWIII, but that seems like an exaggeration and fear-mongering. while I don’t think it will lead into a world war, the impact of this conflict can lead to devastating losses and a potential for greater consequences. I was thinking about how people can do something to stop this from happening, but instead… they worry about how AI is gonna destroy the world and not war and climate change. so.. I wrote this riff thinking about all that. Originally I was gonna write the lyrics for this song, but I figured I’d hand this one over to you because I feel like you have a lot more to say about this topic.”<\/p>\n

Trump destabilized Iran early by withdrawing from the Iran nuclear deal (JCPOA) during his first term. In his second term, he escalated tensions further\u2014demanding Iran halt even peaceful nuclear activities while backing Israel\u2019s military actions. Most recently, he supported an unprovoked military campaign against Iran, which legal experts say may constitute an illegal war of aggression under international law.<\/p>\n

This aggression adds to a broader pattern: enabling Putin\u2019s war in Ukraine, backing Netanyahu’s assault on Gaza, and now pushing toward catastrophe in Iran. Rather than promoting peace, Trump\u2019s foreign policy has facilitated war crimes and deepened global instability.<\/p>\n

Climate Crisis: Anti-Science and Deregulation<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Trump\u2019s presidency marked a sharp rise in anti-science rhetoric. He denied climate change repeatedly\u2014calling it a hoax and \u201cbullshit\u201d\u2014and made these views policy. His administration withdrew from the Paris Agreement, dismantled over 100 environmental regulations, censored climate reports, and prioritized fossil fuel expansion. These actions have accelerated the climate crisis and undermined public trust in science and education.<\/p>\n

AI: Innovation, Energy, and the Climate<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Daniel supports low-energy AI models like DeepSeek and backs nuclear and other green energy sources. AI could help address the climate crisis\u2014but many U.S. companies rely on inefficient, high-cost chips, especially for large language models. Nvidia chips, in particular, raise environmental concerns due to their energy demands.<\/p>\n

However, AWS (Amazon Web Services) plans to release a new chip, Trainium3<\/strong>, within a year. It\u2019s expected to double computing capacity while reducing energy use by 50%, showing that innovation and competition can drive both performance and sustainability.<\/p>\n
