Coined in 1969

[Silence]

[Instrumental, Guitar, Clean Electric, Analog Synth, Warm Piano, Bass, Light Percussion, Soft Drums]

[Intro]
[Instrumental Intro: Vintage Synth Pad, Soft Electric Piano, Tape-Style Noise Texture, Slow Bass Pulse]
[Minimal Beat Enters, Light Snare Brushes, Subtle Organ Layer]
[Spoken Vocal, Distant, Reflective Tone]
A name… before a movement
(In the moment)
A concept… before a world
(Brave and bold)

[Verse 1]
[Warm Groove Establishes, Gentle Guitar Arpeggios, Upright Bass Feel, Soft Drums]
In a lab where metal dreams were made
And circuits learned the games they played
A question formed in quiet hands
How do machines begin to understand?
Not just gears, not just light
But systems thinking, taking flight
A word was needed, sharp and new
For what the future would run through

[Pre-Chorus]
[Harmonic Lift, Pads Swell, Snare Lightly Builds]
What’s the story
(Tetsuro Mori)

[Chorus]
[Full Arrangement, Bright Synth Layer, Rhythmic Guitar Strum, Steady Driving Bass]
Coined in nineteen sixty-nine
(Slightly ahead of his time)
Automation
(Creation)

Coined in nineteen sixty-nine
(A vision forming, line by line)
Integration
(Foundation)

[Verse 2]
[Rhythm Tightens, Subtle Electronic Elements Begin to Blend In]
Yaskawa’s halls of steel and thought
Where theory and mechanics were taught
A name emerged from engineer’s mind
To bridge the gaps that time defined
Not separate worlds of wire and steel
But unified systems that think and feel
A label born from necessity
To name a rising complexity

[Pre-Chorus]
[Instrumentation Thins, Focus on Vocal and Bass Pulse]
What’s the story
(Tetsuro Mori)

[Chorus]
[Stronger Percussion, Layered Synth Harmonies, Expanding Stereo Field]
Coined in nineteen sixty-nine
(Slightly ahead of his time)
Automation
(Creation)

Coined in nineteen sixty-nine
(A framework forming, bold design)
Innovation
(Combination)

[Bridge]
[Breakdown: Ambient Pads, Sparse Piano Notes, Soft Filter Sweeps, Subtle Glitch Texture]
Before the word, the idea still lived
In prototypes and systems that give
A shape to motion, thought to machine
A language built from what would be seen
Trademarked first, then set it free
To grow beyond a company
A term that crossed the engineered line
And redefined the mechanical spine

[Build-Up]
[Snare Roll, Rising Synth Arpeggios, Increasing Tempo Energy]
Sixty-nine…
(Starting sign…)
Sixty-nine…
(A changing time…)

[Final Chorus]
[Full Power Arrangement, Bright Leads, Driving Rhythm Guitar, Layered Vocals]
Coined in nineteen sixty-nine
(Slightly ahead of his time)
Automation
(Creation)

Coined in nineteen sixty-nine
(A system born from one design)
Integration
(Evolution)

[Outro]
[Instrumental Outro: Fading Synth Lead, Soft Piano Echoes, Gentle Tape Hiss, Slow Bass Decay]
A word becomes a world
(So our story’s told)
A world becomes a system
(I think therefore I am)
And systems… become the future
(Now proven as “sure”)

About the Song
Tetsuro Mori, a senior engineer at the Japanese company Yaskawa Electric Corporation, coined the term “mechatronics” in 1969. It was created to describe the integration of mechanical engineering with electronics and control systems, and it was registered as a trademark in 1971 before being released for public use.
