LYRICS
The fading scene of the magazine
Once the scourge of the forest
Now it’s being put to rest
Soon I hope to see
The same thing happen to TV

Maybe we can learn to earn
The need to earn to learn
An appreciation for the acquisition
Of knowledge as privilege

Today and forever more
Banished to a waiting room
In the fading light of glory before
Parent of an empty womb

With any luck, reincarnated
Instead of to the garbage fated
Recycled to a new life form
A birthday to be reborn

The fading scene of the magazine
Once the scourge of the forest
Now it’s being put to rest
… think it’s best

LYRICS
The damn damage
At any age
A clean page
From damn damage
Older, wiser
The sage
Life’s miser
Engage
Helping the blind to see
To be all you can be
Helping the lame to walk
The same for the mute to talk
To be all we can be
Damn damage free
Trying to cure what ails you
Trying to aid what fails you
Trying to do what we can do
Damage to zero
Trying the postponement of dying
A moment meant for living
Long as I”m living…
Going to keep on trying

LYRICS
But, but, but… but…
I don’t need to wait for room
If, and, and but
There’s plenty of room waiting
Not waiting for gloom and doom
There’s no room for debating
Navigating anticipating
In the waiting room
Time to move along
Compose a song
Write what is right
In the wellness fight
Don’t let the Reaper loom
There’s no room for negotiation
In the waiting room
Not ready for a tomb
Plenty of life left in sight
Gaining spiritual insight
In the waiting room

LYRICS
Haven’t we met before
Weren’t you coming out the door
I recognize your face
Coming out of that place
Did you know you had to come out
To get in
That’s what begin
Is about

Like a bug meeting windshield
Your insides revealed
What are you made of….
Any of it love
Did you know you had to come out
To get in
That’s what begin
Is about

Like a bug meeting windscreen
When your insides are seen
Your innards… what you ate
Full of hate?
Are you full of hate
Appreciate the love

Have we met before
Will your memory endure
What are you made of….
Any of it love
Did you know you had to come out
To get in
That’s what begin

ABOUT THE SONG
A song inspired by an article from Science Magazine and the songs Fly On The Windshield and Carpet Crawlers by Genesis.

From the Science article Where have all the insects gone?
12 May 2017
http://science.sciencemag.org/content/356/6338/576.full

Entomologists call it the windshield phenomenon. “If you talk to people, they have a gut feeling. They remember how insects used to smash on your windscreen,” says Wolfgang Wägele, director of the Leibniz Institute for Animal Biodiversity in Bonn, Germany. Today, drivers spend less time scraping and scrubbing. “I’m a very data-driven person,” says Scott Black, executive director of the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation in Portland, Oregon. “But it is a visceral reaction when you realize you don’t see that mess anymore.”

Neonicotinoid pesticides, already implicated in the widespread crash of bee populations, are a prime suspect.

Paying attention to what E. O. Wilson calls “the little things that run the world” is worthwhile, Sorg says. “We won’t exterminate all insects. That’s nonsense. Vertebrates would die out first. But we can cause massive damage to biodiversity—damage that harms us.”

LYRICS
If your best trick’s drastic
Irony of a one-trick-pony
Ain’t that funny
When it cuts ya to the quick
Chorus:
As I’m watching the fish jumping
Head scratching as I’m thinking
Which am I… fish or fly
Which will die… swallow or fry

Can I only face the surface
Or am I willing to dive deep
If we don’t outpace the human race
Ya won’t even hear a peep
(chorus)
Bold to assume both I’ll consume?
Please remain king of the food chain
Yet no matter how hard I try
My know-how’s gonna die
(chorus)
No sense to weep. No sense to cry.
Distraught knot?
Distraught not!

[The fish eats the fly
Then both are eaten by I
We’re all going to die
Would you rather be swallowed or fried?]

LYRICS
Will I recognize you
After we breakthrough
When we reside on the other side
Will we begin again
Starting already knowing
Wondering when the outside we’re in
May the blackness of the heavens
Turn to pure white light
Soul is soaked in safe havens
All is justified just right

Dead but not gone
Playing a long song
Through the light of the night… an eternal dawn
In the light incites
Your light is in my sites
I know I’ll recognize your glow
In the light insights
Your light is in my sights
I know I’ll recognize your glow

LYRICS
Any way to say if you’ll be here today
Any way to know when you’re going to go?
We made the bed we’re going to sleep in
Our best friends and closest of kin

Will I sense that my time has come
Give me a chance before I’ve come undone
Rather dance with crazies then pushing up daisies
All too soon we’re howling at the moon
Though I walk in the valley of the shadow of death
Not choosing the path of the devil’s wrath
If She’s calling me to the Promised Land
When it’s time to come home, I understand

To my home in the sky on Promised Day

Shifting through the gears
Overcoming fears
By-passing the fool
Runnin’ on love’s fuel
Sailing down that endless stretch of highway
To my home in the sky on Promised Day

Learning to thrive
On overdrive
Always strive
To stay alive
Understand?

LYRICS
The turning of the leaves on the trees
One believes they do die
Released from life they fly through the sky
Waving in the wind… bye-bye

From green to gold and red
Turning to brown … turning dead
’till Spring when “born again” is heard said
The scene turning green instead

Meant they’re dormant ’til Spring
Another year another ring
Then the green scene they’ll bring
Spring back in Spring
Singing springing back in Spring

Ashes to ashes. Dust to dust.

Ashes to ashes. Dust to dust.
Ya know it’s a must
To dust
We all fall down
What carnation will you be
For your re-incarnation
Do you have a notion
Of what you’ll be
Will you be Stardust?

Stardust
From whence you came you go
Stardust
Live on! Never rust!

ABOUT THE SONG
It is about the murder of a Philadelphia artist and musician, Miriam Irene Shelow (aka Starr). The background photo is from the Hubble telescope capturing the furthest human’s have ever seen into space. Some people believe we come from stardust. Some people believe we return to stardust. In Starr’s case, she gained her nickname from being living stardust. Oh, yeah… the animation at the end is NASA’s depiction of the “Big Bang” (also known as the theory to how got here — stardust.)

Please stick around for the show
Wait! I need to know
One more question before you go:
Will you be joining the chorus of the universe?
Sweet harmonies throughout the verse

Wait! Please don’t go
Oh, I really need to know
Wait! Please don’t go
For you have not a single foe
One more question before you go:
Will you be joining the chorus of the universe?

LYRICS
If I am unresponsive for more than a year,
I fear… The End wont’ be near

Now, that I know what I know
Would you mind hitting replay, again?
Must’a been the first few times through
I didn’t know what I thought I knew… then

I believe I’ve lived before
I believe I might live some more
Take me in the woods and shoot me ‘tween the eyes
And, set my soul free for me

Don’t put me in a home
Or make me live alone
Just shoot me ‘tween the eyes

Betwixt between

Hopin’ my soul will live again,
So please next o’ kin
Once you realize
Shoot me ‘tween the eyes

ps. While I’m still alive and you realize
I wish to be set free
Please allow me
To set your mind at ease
Please, please put me out of my misery

If we could sound some sort-of siren
An alarm for attention
To the general population

“General Population reporting for duty, Sir.
From my naivety you may infer!”

If we could sound some sort-of siren
An alarm for attention
To the general population

Not on my leg using your urine
Not through some giant money siphon
More like firin’ up the horizon
The enlighten siren

Sirens of silence
Falling on deaf ears
Sirens of silence
Playing out our fears

If we could sound some sort-of siren
An alarm for attention
To the general population

Not the ice that’s crashing into the sea
Not the smog foggin’ up what I see
Not ozone in the wind a blowin’
Not ebola in the gut growin’
You’d think these would all make a fine sign
Nooooo… we pay no attention to the man behind the curtain
We’re taking the free trial of denial for certain

Sirens of silence
Falling on deaf ears
Sirens of silence
Playing out our fears

LYRICS
Again and again with the sin, sin, sin
Then say it’s only true if I go through you?
Don’t you think Jesus had a dog, too
Who did either of them have to go through

Don’t try to save me

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
All good dogs go to heaven
8, 9, 10 then 11
All good children go to heaven

Don’t try to save me

Over and over with brimstone scented sulfur
Saying hell’s the only viable offer

Don’t try to save me

Don’t you think Jesus HAS a dog, too
How did they manage to get on through?

Don’t try to save me
Don’t wanna enslave me

Hold my hand into the Promised Land
Where the trees grow tall… and from the sky… bones fall
… bones will fall

ABOUT THE SONG
Chords — Em Em+c#

A D G

A song inspired by the passing of the family pet. It’s about doing your best at doing what’s right. The day my dog died a bunch of religious zealots tried to save me. So, if Jesus is the only way to heaven, how does a dog get into heaven. Even more puzzling, how does Jesus get into heaven?
