LYRICS
What do you say
Are you O.K.
Since You’ve gone away
Can’t wait for the day
When I can hold you tight
Hold you through the night
Given the chance I will
Dream about you ’till

What do you say
Coming this way?
Ever since you’ve gone
It’s been too long
Chorus

What do you say
Lost in the foray
My mind’s gone away
Ever since the day
Chorus

Na na nan see

LYRICS
Pump the fist into the air
As though there’s nothing there
Oh, well…
Will the scent of coffee make them wake and smell?
’cause I sure think something does stink
With their power spell
Is there anybody up there
That’s the slightest bit aware

Up there all alone
Come down from your throne
Gonna fall from you pedestal

Thrust the fist into the air
As though you really care
Post a boast
To yourself a toast
Vanity at its most
Mirror, mirror on the wall
Who’s the fairest of them all
One of those that won’t compose
“The Emperor’s got no clothes”

Up there all alone
Come down from your throne
Gonna fall from you pedestal

Harder to say it’s gone
Is America dumbing
Or will the New Age dawn?
(Bring the New Age on)

Is Jesus turning tables?

Daniel
12 “Daniel, at that time the great prince Michael will stand up. Michael is in charge of your people. There will be a time of much trouble, the worst time since nations have been on earth. But Daniel, at that time every one of your people whose name is found written in the book of life will be saved. 2 There are many who are dead and buried. Some of them will wake up and live forever, but others will wake up to shame and disgrace forever. 3 The wise people will shine as bright as the sky. Those who teach others to live right will shine like stars forever and ever.

Matthew 21:12
[ Jesus Goes to the Temple ] Jesus went into the Temple area. He threw out all those who were selling and buying things there. He turned over the tables that belonged to those who were exchanging different kinds of money. And he turned over the benches of those who were selling doves.

Matthew 20:16
“So those who are last now will be first in the future. And those who are first now will be last in the future.”

LYRICS
If at first you don’t succeed
Don’t for a second secede
Not to yield is the shield
Respect to serve and protect

We can carry the banner high
If we try
In “The End” we’re gonna die
Might as well fight might
Astray anyway

Knock, knock. Can you let me in
Hello? It’s me, again
Where would you like to begin
Repeating the repeating of what has been?

Chorus

If they’re gonna make ya bleed
’cause you won’t yield to concede
Maybe what it is you need — justify facts, indeed, in deed

LYRICS
You’ve made yourself a major ordeal
For real

The sergeants and lieutenants promoted each other
Into the fraternal order of the brother
Now they’re all a major ordeal
With far less public appeal

You’ve made yourself a major ordeal
For real

The Mayor behind closed doors makin’ a secret deal
With a nod and a wink the deal she’ll seal
Throwing her weight… she couldn’t wait to create a real ordeal

You’ve made yourself a major ordeal
For real

LYRICS
If they say you’ve got to grin and bare it
Are they aware you don’t want to hear it
Raise your voice by choice and dare to share it

[verses whispered]
Something’s quite wrong
Corruption’s going on
For way too long
Policeman as the con

Something’s quite wrong
Corruption’s going on
The Mayor’s a player
Justice delayer

Something’s quite wrong
Corruption’s going on
Shocking disbelief
In the police chief

LYRICS
by Ashley Struempfler

Wrapped at birth with a gift from my own kin
A welcome into the world so this Pisces could swim

My parents love warmed him so perfectly
He knew his special blanket was needed for me
The spirit of a child spirit knows what you love you set free

The amount of cloth always covered me throughout the night
With their love and my blankie I always felt swaddled tight

I found a man who wrapped me up for quite a while
The polka dots on my blanket did not compare to our style
I believed then that our love was the only one worth while

We wove a blanket to warm both him and me
My old one was useless so I left it be

Life put pressure on the seams one night
Blanket ripped off ; completely out of sight
I tried to repair it with all my might
The tear happened seemingly right
Something in me had to ignite

No longer snuggled with the warmth of our love
I had no other choice then to look above
The heat rose within and the message was given to me
If you love something – set it free
Swaddled in the cosmos you’ll forever be

Reborn with a different set of lenses to see
A new understanding of love in all the forms it can be
But no epiphany will ever set your pain free
I knew there was a long road ahead; a great plan created for me

Hardly handling the nature of the heat reawakened in me
I resisted being wrapped; I didn’t think I was worthy
So I nuzzled into other blankets I would see
But I knew all along none of them would let me sleep as soundly
Being cuddled in fear just hid my beauty

So I drove home and there was all I ever needed all along
My blankie, family, that non stop song
A thought came over me
That If I loved myself unconditionally
I could cozy up and set myself free

Feeling forever safe and freed from my past
With a heart open; Romance returned just so fast
I stretched my blanket out ; but it just didn’t last

We could have made a new one; started to sow
But we knew the effects would start to show

Still longing for your love over the rest
Cosmos reminded me it was for the best

You’ll be swaddled with care – limbs flowing free
You can’t restrict love – don’t you see?

So I began to let the love flow outwardly
Steps continuously moving forwardly

I picked up Captain Cook leaving the Land of mystery
From a distance I could tell he was as lost as me

I got a long way back to Salt Lake City
Just Searching for the sun after this reprieve
.
He was burned and abandoned by those Who made me once feel secure
But just as quickly through him out their door

Just trying to make it home somehow stuck in women’s panties.
I had to help the pirate that smelled of incense and patties.

I don’t have fear when I act from love
Maybe one day this fool will learn

Read him his cards – he commented on my glow
Our encounter means more than we’ll both ever know

All I could offer was a ride and some tea
He Left his scarf and some wise words for me
It’s been everywhere you see – I love it, but I’m not cold anymore – so I must set it free

I’m back on my search for the Tao
So here’s a blanket – it’s yours now

I love both you and it so both had to be set free
I knew it was time for you to feel how warm you could be

The pig is at the trough
Doing what he does best
When it comes to slop… never gets enough

If you think you’re winning the battle
You’re really losing the war
Even though the saber you rattle
You’re really losing the war, for sure

The pig is in the mud
Just like all the rest
Living in the rough… pulling his pud

Chorus

The pig is ready for slaughter
Put to sleep with the captain’s daughter
Outta the pan… into the fire… getting hotter

Freedom lost of freedom won

Freedom in America? Ha, ha, ha! Na, na, na
Freedom in America led (bred) by the dumb, dumb, dumb

Everything is free in America
Except for the price of freedom

Then you’ve the nerve to say “U.S.A.”?

Everything is free in America

What is the cost of freedom?

LYRICS
I took a fancy to Nancy
Wrapped in a Dan-ce of romance
Ten years of famine
Turn into feast
Into the most from the least
All my life where’ve ya been
More than coincidence
More than chance
Here comes that loving feeling, again

Become aware when love is in the air
Once I begin to take it in
Sorry if I stare whenever you are there
It’s just now in miracles I’m believin’

I took a fancy to Nancy
Wrapped in a Dan-ce of romance
Footloose and fancy free
Is she really dancing with me
Coming back from out of the black
Into the blue with you
Through the last chapter… happily, ever after

We’re certainly capable
Of getting ourselves in the swing of things

ABOUT THE SONG
Style: ExperiMental Music
Chords: E G A E / E C D E
Recording: live

Vocals, Guitar

Written at the corner of Gay and Church Streets. Recorded at Everhart Park in Chester County, West Chester, PA.

The intersection of Church and Gay Streets is my favorite place to write songs. Not only is it inspirational for lyrics, but the groove of the music can also be tested. Within minutes of starting this song, children of all ages began dancing… a 4-year-old boy started gyrating, a 5-year-old girl twisted and shook, a 1-year-old girl did the up n’ down dance and several adults couldn’t help themselves.

The lyrics were inspired by the public hearing about writing music at Gay Church.

LYRICS
I went to my usual spot
Where I sit just ’bout every day
I thought things were going in the usual way
But, there in my seat
Were sandwiches… cheese and meat

A free lunch on its way
A free lunch here today
A free lunch…
A free lunch… what can I say?

I’ve always had a hunch
There’s such thing as “a free lunch”

Did Friedman feed men?
Was Milton smitten?
’cause I find it fittin’
I’ve a bunch of free lunch
