bookmark_borderFlower Child Sprouts

Inspired by the moonflower seeds that sprouted into the sun… growing more tasty than alfalfa, bean or others.

Written sittin’ on the wall at the corners of Market and High streets in downtown West Chester… while sittin’ next to some sprouts… and before ya knew it, they were sprouting everywhere. A beautiful thing — a flower child patch sprouting.

Quarter fairy, barely
The heat is no match for a sprout
No doubt

Ya play it funked up blues

Have you heard the news report
We’re down to the last resort
(the last great resort, great resort)

Welcome to the great last resort
It’s not as great
As it use to be

You see
The seaside spot
Is not (is not)
Beside
The sea

LYRICS
If you’re having one of those days
When you don’t know which way to go
You just don’t know

You know it’s true
You can count on my
We’ll see what we can do

Just give me a call
About anything at all
And, I’d be happy to lend a hand
To help understand
What the hell we’re doing
Why we want to ruin… everything

If you’re having one of those days
When you don’t know which way to go
You just don’t know

Well, I’m still standing
Some find it hard to believe
I’ve got an understanding with the Almighty
And, I fall to my knees
And, I try, try, try to please
I fall to my knees

She says, “Whatcha doing? Get up on your feet.
Get out on the street.
You do me no good when you’re there on the floor.
No, no more.
So, get on your feet.
Get on the street”

She doesn’t care if you’re discrete
She just wants you to shout out the beat

Cause I’m still standing after all I’ve been through
And, I’d be more than happy to help you
I’m still standing
I know it’s true

LYRICS
What’s got you freaking
Is it your freedom
All your inalienable rights
Not worth the fights
Give them all away
Think of the price
We’ll pay

It won’t be nice
Think of the price
It won’t be nicee
Better think twice

Government banks
And automobile
The public-corporate steal
No thanks
Beware of healthcare
Hippocratic democratic
Hypocrite politic

What’s got you freaking
Loss of free speaking
Afraid to speak your mind
Because of the legal system
Afraid you’ll lose your mind
Because of the legal syndrome

Delayed Reaction .MP3

LYRICS
Is there a delayed response
To what we hear
A delayed response
To what they say
No action
No reaction
For the action

As complicated
As we have made it become
Now, we just sit here
Glassy-eyed and numb

Is there a delayed reaction
To what they say
Is there a delayed reaction
To what we hear
Instead of just shutting down
Out of fear
I say we rally
And, cheer

As a group project
We can eject
A powerfulness
That might help correct
This mess

ABOUT

About The Song
This song was written and recorded on a cold October day. It was snowing heavily in parts of Pennsylvania. The unusual precipitation got me thinking about the how things together in a weather system.

If hydrogen and oxygen could get together with forming unique snowflakes that act together as one “weather system”, why couldn’t humans act together as one “whether system”?

It was recorded on a Roland Boss BR-600 digital recorded using a stereo track for instrumentation and two stereo tracks for vocals.

Chords: Dm / Bb / C

So, I went and played… and thought….

I put in one of our domain names… and played and thought some more….

There were quite a few things that stood out. The ones that had to do with music that were fun to play with were:
after extrapolating, it looks like we are one of the top ten MP3 sites on the web. Being that we have original music and own the copyrights, it brought a smile to my face.

Another interesting thing was how Google ranked our bands — it looked like Mess was number one.

Perhaps it’s time to put another Mess album out?

bookmark_borderThe Power Of Weird

lyrics

A weird thing happened to me
A weird thing happened to me

Ya woulda’ thunk
She’d let me be
Ya woulda’ stunk
Obviously

Power overtakes me
Wow, Her, gloriously
Power overtakes me
Notoriously

Her power overwhelms
Stronger than oaks
Sweeter than maples
Soothing as elms
Sh, sh, sheeee overwhelms

The power
Of Her
God, almighty
It’s weird
What’s happening to me

No, no, no
Not to be feared
Just weird
Can you feel Her?

Ohhhh… feel Her!

She commands you
To command
You should demand
Take Her cue

A righteous coo

ABOUT THE SONG
This was actually the first song recorded for the Charge It! project. It started out as a song about a real life experience involving a bad relationship with a girl. But, it evolved into a song about a good religious experience. Kind-of like… how you can either let a bad experience with a girl take over your life, or you can take command of your own life and try to do the right thing.

It’s an extemporaneous demo.
