bookmark_borderStep On A Crack

LYRICS
Did you ever, ever step on a crack
Break your mother’s back

Can you take it back?
I wish I had the knack
To take back the crack

Step on a crack
Break your mother’s back
Step on a crack
But, I lack the knack
To take it back

Stepping on a crack

Eeny, meeny, miny, moe
Catch a sibling by the toe
Ya, know?
Stepped on a crack
Broke your mother’s back

I lack the knack
To take back the crack

White is white
Black is black
What do you think about that?

LYRICS
Through the clearing
I’m seeing
The time is nearing

Through the clearing
I’m hearing
The time is nearing

Ending

If anything is worth endearing
Somehow… the time is now

Through the clearing
I can see
More clearly
The lack of destiny
It all falls on me
Falling on me

The dust is settling
The smoke is clearing

Through the clearing
I’m hearing
The time is nearing
The Ending

LYRICS
Do you envy the gravy
Pity the poverty?

Do you envy the gravy
Do you pity the poverty?
Are you feeling almighty
Like you’re in the position
To have the opinion
To pity poverty
Amongst the things you do
You’re this and that, too

Some sort-of beast
Some sort-of monster
Stir
Gonna stir
Gonna stir the pot
You say why not?
Maybe it’s time we know
Maybe it’s time they go

LYRICS
I don’t know about that

They think their Casey has come to bat
I don’t know about that
Should have looked before you sat
Cut the calories before so fat
Now you’ve got this fat cat
I don’t know about that
No, I don’t know about that

Not an eye does bat
Do you bat an eye
Did I
Why?

I don’t know about that

We might need a better getter of fact
In fact, we might need a better getter of fact
’cause I don’t know about that
They think they’ll bring their Casey to bat
When in fact it’s just another fat cat
I don’t know about that

Do you think he pull a rabbit out of a hat
Do you think he pull a rabbit out of that hat
I don’t know about that
Do you think you’re bring your Casey to the bat
I don’t know about that

Do you really believe that’s where it’s at
I don’t know about that

No more doormat
I know about that
The genre of bastard… the species of rat
I know about that
Where Humpty Dumpty sat
Before the fall
From the wall
Splat
Where Humpty Dumpty sat
’cause all the King’s horses and all the King’s men
Couldn’t put Humpty together again
What do you know about that
No more tit for tat
I know about that
Big fat
Fat cat
I don’t know about that
What that
I don’t know about that
What that
I don’t know about that

I know — I don’t know about that

LYRICS
Feelin’
You within
Within my skin
Are you in my skin?

Can’t help but feelin’
I’m fallin’
Feeling I’m falling in love with you

You within the skin
My skin
Feelin’

Can’t help but feeling I’m falling
In love with you

Can’t hide from my hide
When you’re in my skin
Feelin’ I’m fallin’
In Love

And, I’d love to see
If you’re falling in love with me
Are you, too
Are you falling in love, too
Or is it just me

So this is what love is
Effervescence of life
The effervescence of life is
Fizzzzz

Within my skin
Without
I’m out
I found out what I’m about
Falling
Falling without
Within my skin

LYRICS
It’s true
The things you do you do

It’s true
The things you do you do
You do the things you do
You do

Is it true you do the things you do
Is it true to you
Is it true the things you do you do to you
Is it true the things you do you are
Maybe it’s time to get bizarre
Out of your straight-jacket
Self-imposed rat race racket

Down to Earth
With this birth
Coming down to Earth
For the basic birth
Guess I’ll see is in me
’cause what I do I do
It’s true
I guess I’ll see what’s in me
’cause I am as I do
Guess I’ll see inside of me
They say it’s true
It’s true for you
What you do you do
Is it true for you?
You do what you do view
You do what you do
Is a reflection of you

LYRICS
The water is slowly spinning round and round.
Heading, heading ever, forever down.
I hope I don’t get sucked, quite right in….
Quite, right in. Quite, right in.
… not quite yet.

Forever walking round the paths,
Trying to find my way out.
Forever walking round the paths,
I will never get out….
Of the labyrinth… of the labyrinth… of the labyrinth… of the labyrinth….

What are you afraid of in the labyrinth?
Under my bed
In my head
Bad guys
In disguise

But, I know…
That if we try…
Try to use our mind’s eye,
We can make the walls come,
Tubmlin’ down.

(Walls all around.)
Walls of the labyrinth come tumblin’ down.
Walls come tumbling down.
The walls come tumbling down,
all around… all around… all around… all around.

Labyrinth MMXVI.mp3

ABOUT THE SONG
by Daniel Brouse

The song was originally written for my children. Before going to bed, we would sing. The song starts with one of my childhood fears — being sucked down the drain. Each time we played the song I would pause in the middle… and ask them what they were afraid of. Then, we conquered their fears.

The idea was incorporated in the world’s first interactive music album The Labyrinth

Inspiration came from David Bowie’s “The Labyrinth” and Pink Floyd’s “The Wall”.

This blip in time that I call “I am”

Can I keep it beating

The blip in time that I am
The blip in time that I call mine
Is it all self
Is it all greed and wealth

The blip in time that I call mine
Is it all fleeting
Can I keep the drum beating
The blip in time that I am
The blip in time that I call mine

The blip in time that I am
The blip in time that I call mine
Is it all just me, me, me
Do you think I could see myself free
See me being free
Wanna see me being free

The blip in time that I am
Is it all fleeting
Got to keep this drum beating

Re-sinned
The sin of sins
Rescind the sin of rescind
Sin again and again

Begin to ascend
Rise again

Rescind
Rescind rescind
The same sin again and again
Rise above
Ascend
Find the love
Rise above

The sin of sins
Rescinding again and again

Tossing a pebble
Into a still pond
The ripples go beyond
Ripple
Go beyond
The will to live

Ascend
Love again and again

bookmark_borderRetrograde Grade

LYRICS
Soon you’ll come to learn not to swoon
Your position relative to the moon

Undone
Your position relative to the sun

The reality of your relativity
Graduate to the first grade
When you’re past a retrograde
Mercury
Can you see
When you’re past a retrograde theory

Your perception undone
Your perspective undone
Your relationship to the sun
It’s not that far to that star
Your relationship to the sun
It’s not that far to the start

Perhaps a loon is really influenced by the moon
But, believe me
Clarity
You don’t have to move a star
You don’t have to go that far

The relativity
Of your clarity
Let it shine
Let it shine on through
Let it shine
Let it shine on you

The reality of relativity
The theory of me and my relativity
Theory of me
Relativity

Where did everybody go?

LYRICS
Out of the frying pan
And into the fire

The kettle calling the pot black
Imagine that
Out of the frying pan
And into the fire
Couldn’t get much more dire
Straight up dire
A dire straight
(At any rate)

Out of the frying pan
And into the fire
Fire!

Out of the frying pan
And into the fire
The circumstances couldn’t be any more dire
Guess they call this do or die or….
When you’re going to fry
Don’t you just feel like you will die
When you’re out of the frying pan
And into the fire

It might sting a little bit
Eventually the sensation will quit
It might hurt a little bit
Then the sensation will quit
When you hit
Out of the frying pan
And into the fire
That’s it
When you hit
That’s it
That’s how you know it
When you quit
