[Silence]
[Instrumental, Guitar, Piano, Organ, Synth, Bass, Percussion, Drums]
[Intro]
The real feel
(Go out your door… for more)
[Verse 1]
Step outside, the morning’s breaking
Feel the ground beneath you shaking
Hear the birds and feel the breeze
Watch the dancing of the trees
[Pre-Chorus]
You don’t need a satellite
To see what’s happening in plain sight
No distant chart, no far-off deal
Just step outside and feel the real
[Refrain]
For the real feel
(Step out your backdoor)
See reality…
(As never before)
[Verse 2]
Keep a record, mark the day
See what nature has to say
Watch the clouds and watch the ground
See what changes come around
[Pre-Chorus]
One small sign might seem alone
Till the next one makes it known
Put the pieces side by side
See the patterns come alive
[Refrain]
For the real feel
(Step out your backdoor)
See reality…
(As never before)
[Bridge]
Look out your window
What do you see?
A world in motion
A changing history
Feel the sunshine
Watch the rain
Experience the energy building
In a world that’s changed again
[Refrain]
For the real feel
(Step out your backdoor)
See reality…
(As never before)
For the real feel
(There’s so much to explore)
Watch the world reveal
(What we’ve been missing before)
[Final Chorus]
For the real feel
(Step out your backdoor)
See reality…
(As never before)
Look out your window
(Look around you)
The evidence is here
(It’s in plain view)
For the real feel
(No need to ignore)
The world’s changing now
(Faster than ever before)
[Outro]
Step outside…
(Take a look)
Read the signs…
(Not just the book)
Feel the real…
(See what’s in store)
Look out your window…
As never before.
About the Song
Backyard Experiments
How Is the Climate Energy Hitting You? is a collection of backyard experiments conducted in conjunction with you—the reader. The goal is simple: to look at how the increased energy in the climate system is showing up in our everyday lives.
Is it becoming more extreme, more frequent, and more persistent? Are the changes becoming stranger—or even disturbing?

Out Your Window
Climate Change Today: When Weather Becomes Climate is a three-part series designed to simplify where climate science stands today.
Much of the public discussion still focuses on historical trends and older climate models. But since 2023–2024, our understanding of the climate system has advanced significantly as scientists have increasingly examined real-time observations, accelerating changes, feedback loops, and complex Earth system behavior.
The goal of this series is to explain why understanding climate acceleration no longer requires multiple advanced degrees or a deep background in nonlinear chaos theory. The evidence is increasingly visible in the world around us. In many ways, you can begin by simply looking out your window.
