[Intro]
Another season, (another show)
Same old promises, (same old flow)
A line of faces, (a familiar pitch)
Pull the lever, (scratch the itch)
[Verse 1]
Follow the crowd, repeat the phrase
Pick your side and sing its praise
Don’t ask questions, don’t look twice
Just take the label, pay the price
A little fear, a little blame
A different candidate, the same old game
The talking points are pre-designed
But who’s the one who’s using their mind?
[Refrain]
Pull the lever
(Not that clever)
Fill the circle
(For mere mortal)
Cast your rote vote
(Wasted to devote)
Is it a sin…
(To start thinkin’)
A vote for the devil
(Is a vote for evil)
Make up you mind…
(To become kind)
[Verse 2]
A red or blue, a name or face
A tribal badge, a voting place
But color doesn’t make it right
And slogans don’t turn wrong to right
The ballot isn’t just a game
A check beside a famous name
It’s a choice about the world we share
And what we build, and how we care
[Refrain]
Pull the lever
(Not that clever)
Fill the circle
(For mere mortal)
Cast your rote vote
(Wasted to devote)
Is it a sin…
(To start thinkin’)
A vote for the devil
(Is a vote for evil)
Make up you mind…
(To become kind)
[Bridge]
Don’t confuse the team with truth
Don’t let slogans steal your youth
Don’t let anger make the call
Don’t trade your conscience for it all
Read the record
Check the facts
Look at promises
Then look at acts
No blind devotion
No automatic choice
Democracy depends
On an independent voice
[Breakdown]
Think!
(Think for yourself!)
Question!
(Not somebody else!)
Choose!
(With eyes wide open!)
Use!
(Your voice in an educated choice)
[Final Refrain]
Pull the lever
(Not that clever)
Fill the circle
(For mere mortal)
Cast your rote vote
(Wasted to devote)
Is it a sin…
(To start thinkin’)
A vote for the devil
(Is a vote for evil)
Make up your mind…
(To become kind)
[Outro]
No rote vote, no blind allegiance
No borrowed thoughts, no false convenience
A little reason, a little light
Can help us make a better choice… alright!
Pull the lever?
(Think it through!)
Fill the circle?
(The choice is you!)
Make up your mind…
(To become kind)
