[Intro – tense, procedural atmosphere]
[Low string drone with faint typewriter clicks]
[Subtle courtroom ambience: murmurs, distant gavel taps]
[Filtered piano notes echo like paperwork being stamped]

[Verse 1 – narrative, investigative tone]
[Minimal beat: soft kick, restrained snare, muted bass]
The paper waits with folded lines
Black ink bleeding down the spine
Every signature a gate
To what we choose and what we state
Names are more than what we write
They carry weight, they carry light
But every mark can come with cost
When identity is lost

[Pre-Chorus – rising tension]
[Add rising strings and low brass swell]
If you sign, do you agree?
Or just confirm what has to be?
Every loop of pen and page
Can define a turning age

[Refrain – central motif, procedural chant]
[Add rhythmic vocal stacking, gavel-like percussion accents]
Can I have your autograph
(Please sign on the dotted line)
Delivery of a summons
(For someone…)
Your day in court
(Claim your fame)
Uphold your name

[Verse 2 – deeper consequence and identity theme]
[Add darker bassline, sharper percussion, piano stabs]
The ink dries faster than the thought
Of what that single line has bought
Freedom bound in looping script
Where meaning bends and contracts shift
Every name becomes a claim
Every claim ignites a frame
And what was once just who you are
Now travels further than you are

[Pre-Chorus – heightened urgency]
[Strings intensify, rhythm tightens]
Did you read or did you trust?
Was it choice or just because?
Every signature repeats
In the system’s quiet beats

[Refrain – fuller, more dramatic]
[Orchestral + electronic hybrid swell]
Can I have your autograph
(Please sign on the dotted line)
Delivery of a summons
(For someone…)
Your day in court
(Claim your fame)
Uphold your name
Every stroke becomes a truth
(Every truth requires the proof)

[Bridge – breakdown, introspective legal metaphor]
[Strip to piano and faint courtroom reverb]
What is written stays alive
Even when we try to hide
Every document we leave
Is a story we believe
[Gradual build: strings re-enter softly]
Is the name the self you know
Or just where the papers go?

[Final Refrain – climactic resolution]
[Full ensemble: strings, percussion, deep bass, choir-like backing vocals]
Can I have your autograph
(Please sign on the dotted line)
Delivery of a summons
(For someone…)
Your day in court
(Claim your fame)
Uphold your name
(No more silence in the ink)
Every mark becomes the link
(To the version you became)
When you answered to your name
(Your claim to fame… or shame?)

[Outro – fading procedural echoes]
[Typewriter slows, gavel echoes soften]
[Final paper rustle dissolves into ambient hum]
Sign…
Sign…
(Everywhere… a sign)

[Intro]
[Start with single electric guitar note, heavy reverb]
[Add distant wind and low ambient pad]
[Occasional metallic “post” hit like a struck sign]
The devil’s deal
(Time to get real)
[Build: Synth Arpeggio Rising]

[Verse 1 – storytelling, restrained]
[Soft kick, rim click, muted bass enters slowly]
At the edge of where we stood
A marker carved in splintered wood
Pointing left and pointing right
Neither wrong and neither right

Names are etched but fade away
Choices don’t just drift—they stay
Every turn a cost to pay
Even if we look away

[Pre-Chorus – tension builds]
[Add low toms and subtle synth swell]
Every arrow pulls a thread
Through the things we’ve done and said
What we keep and what we lose
All depends on what we choose

[Chorus – strong, declarative]
[Full drums, layered guitars/synths]
The signpost read “Crossroads”
(Choose your path)
Selling souls erodes
(Bringing wrath)

Every direction has a cost
(Every gain implies a loss)
Standing still is just delay
(While the moment slips away)

[Post-Chorus – echo motif]
[Drop instrumentation slightly, echo vocals]
Choose… your path…
Feel… the wrath…

[Verse 2 – deeper consequences]
[Reintroduce groove with more drive]
Every deal we justify
Leaves a mark we can’t deny
Trading truth for something fast
Builds a future from the past

What we borrow, what we bend
Finds us waiting at the end
Every shortcut, every lie
Writes a line we can’t untie

[Pre-Chorus – fuller, more urgent]
[Add rising synth and snare buildup]
Every compass spins with doubt
When the easy way runs out
What we follow, what we trust
Turns to shadow, turns to dust

[Chorus – expanded, heavier]
[Add harmony layers and percussion hits]
The signpost read “Crossroads”
(Choose your path)
Selling souls erodes
(Bringing wrath)

Every promise wears thin
(When the cost is buried in)
All the things we hide below
(Just to keep the surface whole)

[Bridge – stripped, introspective]
[Remove drums, leave ambient pad and soft guitar]
Is the sign a guide or test?
Do we choose or just invest?
In a version of ourselves
Built from fear and nothing else

[Gradual build: bass swell, distant drums returning]
Every path we think we own
Leads us back to what we’ve sown

[Final Chorus – climactic, layered]
[Full instrumentation, widest stereo field]
The signpost read “Crossroads”
(Choose your path)
Selling souls erodes
(Bringing wrath)

Every step becomes the proof
(Every lie reveals the truth)
At the point where all roads pass
(We decide how long it lasts)

[Outro – fading resolve]
[Instruments drop out one by one]
[Leave wind and faint metallic post sound]
Crossroads…
(Mind explodes)
Choose…
(Or lose)
[Final echo fades into silence]

[Intro]
[Soft synth pads shimmer like distant stars]
[Add slow arpeggiator with delay, wide stereo]
[Subtle chime accents and heavy pulse fade in]
What’s your sign
(Is it the same as mine)
[Build: Synth Arpeggio Rising]

[Verse 1 – reflective, questioning tone]
[Light beat enters: soft kick, brushed snare]
We trace our names in constellations
Ancient maps and new translations
Lines we draw across the sky
Trying to explain the why

Every story, every sign
Circles back through space and time
But do the stars decide the way
Or just reflect what we display?

[Pre-Chorus – gentle lift]
[Add layered vocals and rising pad]
If it’s written, who can read?
If it’s fate, then who’s the key?
Every answer feels so far
When we’re reaching for a star

[Chorus – open, melodic, expansive]
[Full but airy instrumentation: synths, light bass, steady drums]
What’s your sign
(Is it written in the stars)
I know not mine
(Determine what you are)

Your astrological sign
(Is not mine)

Draw the patterns, connect the lines
Searching truths we hope to find
In the heavens far away
Or the choices that we make

[Post-Chorus – floating hook]
[Drop drums slightly, echoing vocal layers]
Sign… sign…
Stars align…

[Verse 2 – deeper philosophical layer]
[Add subtle bass groove and secondary melody]
Planets turning, silent guides
Pulling oceans, shifting tides
But do they pull the human heart
Or just mirror who we are?

We project and then believe
In the things we want to see
Meaning forms where we assign
A story to each distant sign

[Pre-Chorus – stronger build]
[Add rhythmic pulse and rising synth sweep]
If we’re written in the sky
Why do we still question why?
Maybe truth is closer than
Anything we understand

[Chorus – expanded, richer harmonies]
[Add layered vocals, brighter synth textures]
What’s your sign
(Is it written in the stars)
I know not mine
(Determine what you are)

Your astrological sign
(Is not mine)

Every orbit, every line
Hints at more than we define
Are we guided, are we free?
Somewhere in between we’ll be

[Bridge – stripped, introspective then building]
[Remove drums, leave ambient pad and distant chimes]
If the stars went dark tonight
Would we lose our sense of sight?
Or would something deep inside
Still be there to be our guide?

[Gradually reintroduce beat and bass]
Maybe meaning isn’t found
In the sky but here on ground

[Final Chorus – full, luminous, climactic]
[Biggest arrangement: wide synths, strong rhythm, layered choir vocals]
What’s your sign
(Is it written in the stars)
I know not mine
(Determine what you are)

Your astrological sign
(Is not mine)

We can trace the cosmic art
But we write what shapes the heart
In the end it’s ours to claim
More than just a given name

[Outro – fading into cosmic silence]
[Arpeggiator slows, pads stretch and dissolve]
[Single chime repeats, then fades]
Sign…
(Time)
Stars…
(How far to bizarre)
[Silence]

About the Song
“Astrological” explores the tension between destiny and self-determination through the lens of astrology. While astrological signs have long been used to interpret personality, relationships, and life paths based on celestial positions, the song questions how much of identity is truly “written in the stars.”

It doesn’t dismiss astrology outright—instead, it reframes it as a symbolic language, one that reflects human tendencies to seek patterns, meaning, and guidance. The central idea is that while cosmic systems may influence or inspire us, they don’t fully define us. Identity emerges from a dynamic interplay between external frameworks and internal choice – freewill.

At its core, the song suggests that the stars may offer stories—but we decide how they’re told.

[Intro]
[Soft piano chords with rising arpeggio pattern]
[Add warm synth pad and subtle elevator chime motif]
[Gentle kick drum enters like a steady ascent]

[Verse 1 – calm anticipation]
[Minimal beat, soft bass, airy textures]
Doors close slowly, breath held tight
Between the floors and shifting light
Every button pressed in hope
A thin line we try to cope

Numbers climbing, stories too
Every level something new
What was below begins to fade
As upward plans begin being made

[Pre-Chorus – lift building]
[Add rising synth sweep and light percussion roll]
If the ground is where we start
Then the climb becomes the art
Every second, every stride
Pulls the weight we hold inside

[Chorus – bright, uplifting, full arrangement]
[Full drums, wide synths, layered vocals, rising bassline]
Hopefully, this lift
(Is going up)
A wonderful gift
(Going up)

Up, up, up
Feel the pressure drop
Up, up, up
Never want it to stop

Every floor a new reveal
Every turn begins to heal
Rising past what held us down
Leaving gravity on the ground

[Post-Chorus – rhythmic hook]
[Echoed vocals, light percussive bounce]
Up… up… up…
(We don’t stop)
Go… go… go…
(To the top)

[Verse 2 – momentum and perspective shift]
[Add rhythmic synth bass and brighter melodic layer]
Windows open to the sky
Watching old constraints go by
What once felt like heavy weight
Now dissolves and feels like fate

Every level tells a tale
Of the climb and where we sail
Higher than we thought we’d be
Rising into clarity

[Pre-Chorus – stronger lift build]
[Add snare rolls and harmonic expansion]
Every floor we leave behind
Leaves a version redefined
What we carry, what we shed
All becomes what lies ahead

[Chorus – expanded, more euphoric]
[Add choir-style backing vocals and fuller instrumentation]
Hopefully, this lift
(Is going up)
A wonderful gift
(Going up)

Up, up, up
(Through the ceiling, through the sky)
Up, up, up
(Let the limits say goodbye)

Every rise a new design
Every step becomes a sign
We are more than where we’ve been
We are what we’re rising in

[Bridge – suspended, floating section]
[Strip to ambient pad and soft piano]
What if up is just a state
Not a place but how we translate?
Every movement, every climb
Is a shift in space and time

[Gradual build with swelling synths]
Maybe up is just a choice
Made in silence, made in voice

[Final Chorus – maximum lift and energy]
[Full production: bright synths, driving drums, layered harmonies]
Hopefully, this lift
(Is going up)
A wonderful gift
(Going up)

Up, up, up
(Through the noise and through the doubt)
Up, up, up
(Till we figure it all out)

Nothing holding us below
Only places left to go
Every moment rising free
Into what we’re meant to be

[Outro – gentle descent of energy, not downward motion]
[Keep arpeggios, slowly thin instrumentation]
[Final elevator chime fades upward in pitch]

bookmark_borderTo Noise Ratio

[Intro, electronic texture]
[Begin with static hiss, radio scanning, fragmented vocal samples]
[Introduce pulsing synth bass under filtered noise]
[Gradually lock into a steady beat as noise becomes rhythmic]

[Verse 1 – analytical, introspective tone]
[Minimal groove: tight kick, soft hats, subtle bassline]
There’s a message in the waveform bend
But distortion hides it in the end
Every channel bleeding through
What is false and what is true?

Data buried in the stream
Fractured bits of what we mean
Clarity is hard to find
When noise is louder than the mind

[Pre-Chorus – lift with filtering effect]
[Apply filter sweep that “cleans” parts of the mix]
[Add harmonic pad rising underneath]
Turn it down, refine the line
Separate the stray from sign
If the signal’s faint but real
We amplify what we can feel

[Chorus – crisp, punchy, polished mix]
[Full drums, clean synth leads, widened stereo clarity]
What’s the signal-to-noise ratio
(Please let me know)
Filter out the background noise
(Give the sound more poise)

Raise the level, cut the haze
Find the truth inside the phase
When the static starts to slow
Let the real transmission show

[Post-Chorus – rhythmic hook]
[Glitch vocal chops, rhythmic repeats]
Signal… signal…
Noise… noise…
[Sidechain pumping effect creates breathing groove]

[Verse 2 – broader metaphor, social layer]
[Add secondary melody, more driving rhythm]
Voices layered in the feed
Every claim and every creed
Too much input, not enough light
Blurred between the wrong and right

Screens are glowing, streams collide
Every signal multiplied
But meaning fades in overload
Lost inside the endless code

[Pre-Chorus – stronger build]
[Add snare rolls and rising white noise]
Dial it in, adjust the gain
Strip away the excess strain
Every truth we want to hear
Needs a channel that is clear

[Chorus – expanded, more harmonies]
[Add stacked vocals and brighter synth layers]
What’s the signal-to-noise ratio
(Please let me know)
Filter out the background noise
(Give the sound more poise)

Boost the signal, clean the flow
Cut the parts that overflow
In the silence, we might find
What survives inside the mind

[Bridge – breakdown into near silence]
[Drop beat entirely, leave faint pulse and filtered voice]
If the noise becomes the norm
Do we lose the signal’s form?
Or does truth still find a way
Through the chaos and decay?

[Gradually reintroduce elements: bass pulse, hi-hat ticks]
Every system can be tuned
Every message can be pruned

[Final Chorus – maximal clarity and impact]
[Cleanest, most defined mix; everything sharp and intentional]
What’s the signal-to-noise ratio
(Please let me know)
Filter out the background noise
(Give the sound more poise)

Turn it up and let it ring
Hear the truth in everything
When the interference goes
Only what is real will show

[Outro – fade into clean silence]
[Noise elements gradually disappear one by one]
[Leave a single pure tone, then fade out completely]
Signal…
(Heed the call)
No noise…
(Bring joys)
[Silence]

About the Song
“Signal-to-Noise Ratio” takes a technical concept from audio and data science and turns it into a broader metaphor for clarity in a world saturated with information. In engineering, SNR measures how clearly a desired signal stands out from background interference—higher ratios mean cleaner, more reliable output, typically above 25–40 dB.

The song extends that idea into human perception, communication, and modern media environments. We are constantly surrounded by “noise”—misinformation, distraction, emotional overload—making it harder to identify what is true, meaningful, or actionable. Improving the “signal” becomes both a technical and philosophical act: strengthening what matters, filtering what doesn’t, and designing systems—personal or societal—that prioritize clarity over volume.

[Silence]

[Instrumental, Guitar, Piano, Organ, Synth, Bass, Percussion, Drums]

[Intro]
[Minimal Beat, Sub Bass, Spoken Vocal]
Don’t you know?
(… just look out your window…)
[Instrumental, Synth Solo]

[Verse 1 – observational, grounded tone]
[Minimal beat: soft kick, filtered hi-hats, spacious reverb]
We trace the sky for something more
A flicker at the static core
A pattern breaking through the noise
A whisper turning into voice

The ground is shaking just a thread
But louder things are in our head
We miss the change that’s all around
While looking upward for the sound

[Pre-Chorus – tension building]
[Add rising synths and rhythmic layering]
If every light is just a clue
Then what is false and what is true?
A message written in the air
But only seen by those aware

[Chorus – full energy, expansive]
[Full drums, wide synth pads, layered vocal harmonies]
A signal for all
(Look outside)
A sign of the time
(Both far and wide)

Across the silence, breaking through
(Everything we thought we knew)
Calling out from earth and sky
(Still we question—still ask why)

[Post-Chorus – echoing motif]
[Strip back instrumentation, leave delay-heavy vocals]
Signal… signal…
(For all…)
Time… time…
(Far and wide…)

[Verse 2 – slightly more urgent rhythm]
[Introduce steady percussion and bass movement]
We measure meaning in the screen
But miss what’s breathing in between
The forest speaks in fractured sound
But no one hears it through the ground

The ocean hums a rising tone
A language older than our own
Still we translate what we fear
Instead of what is already here

[Pre-Chorus – stronger build]
[Add percussion fills and rising filter sweeps]
Every fragment, every spark
Draws a map inside the dark
If we would only lift our eyes
We’d see the signal in disguise

[Chorus – expanded, more layered vocals and percussion]
[Full production intensity increases]
A signal for all
(Look outside)
A sign of the time
(Both far and wide)

The earth is speaking, clear and near
(But only some are tuned to hear)
Every moment, every line
(A signal lost in real time)

[Bridge – minimal, reflective breakdown]
[Drop to near silence: wind, faint piano, distant static]
Don’t you know
(… just look out your window…)
The answers never went away
(They’re just beyond where you play)

[Slow build begins: low bass pulse returns]
The signal isn’t far or new
It’s everything surrounding you

[Final Chorus – climactic, emotional peak]
[Full arrangement: layered drums, synth wall, choir-style backing]
A signal for all
(Look outside)
A sign of the time
(Both far and wide)

No longer hidden, no longer small
(It speaks to everything and all)
If we would only realign
(We’d see the signal every time)

[Outro – fading transmission]
[Gradually strip layers: drums → synth → static]
[Return to faint Morse-like beeps, slowing down]
Signal…
Signal…
(A sign for all)
[Wind and static dissolve into silence]

[Intro – tense, atmospheric, 75–85 BPM]
[Low rumbling drone with wind textures and faint crackling fire]
[Add distant siren-like synth swell, barely audible]
[Introduce slow, heartbeat kick, uneven and restrained]
[Occasional flicker-like high-frequency synth stabs]

[Verse 1 – restrained, observational tone]
[Sparse piano with filtered reverb, minimal percussion]
We read the signs in ancient flame
Yet call the pattern by another name
The desert speaks, the forests cry
Still we look down, still ask why

Ash drifts softly through the air
A prayer unspoken everywhere
But wisdom buried in the ground
Is lost in noise that drowns the sound

[Pre-Chorus – rising tension, layered synths]
[Add swelling pads and increasing rhythmic intensity]
If every spark is meant to teach
Why do we never hear it reach?
A warning written in the blaze
Yet we are trapped inside the haze

[Chorus – full intensity, emotional peak]
[Full drums, distorted bass, layered vocal harmonies]
The bush is burning
(It’s on fire)
Are our minds churning
(A higher desire)

Smoke is rising, truth is turning
Still we stand here unconcerning
Flames are writing what we fear
But no one wants to hear it clear

[Post-Chorus – echoing refrain]
[Drop instrumentation, leave vocal delay trails and fire crackle]
Burning… burning…
(On fire…)
Turning… turning…
(Desire…)

[Verse 2 – more urgent, documentary tone]
[Rhythmic pulse returns, sharper percussion elements]
Across the hills, the edges glow
Where once-green worlds begin to go
Acres vanish in a breath
Between survival and slow death

We map the skies but miss the ground
Where every answer might be found
The evidence is plain to see
Yet filtered through uncertainty

[Pre-Chorus – stronger build than before]
[Add layered vocal harmonies, rising noise textures]
If this is sign, then what remains?
A lesson written in the flames
But recognition comes too slow
To stop the fire as it grows

[Chorus – expanded, heavier, more urgent]
[Maximal production: distorted guitars or synth walls, heavy drums]
The bush is burning
(It’s on fire)
Are our minds churning
(A higher desire)

The earth is speaking in combustion
Still we drown it in discussion
Every signal turned to static
Truth becomes automatic panic

[Bridge – breakdown, introspective, minimal]
[Strip to ambient wind, faint piano, distant fire crackle]
If Moses stood where we now stand
Would we still fail to understand?
A sign not carved in stone or page
But written in a living stage

The burning bush, the burning land
Both asking for a steady hand
But history repeats its line
When sight is lost to passing time

[Final Chorus – climactic, layered, emotionally charged]
[Full ensemble, choir-like backing vocals, intense rhythm]
The bush is burning
(It’s on fire)
Are our minds churning
(A higher desire)

We see it rising, still discerning
While the world keeps slow returning
To the truth we won’t admire
Until we stand inside the fire

[Outro – collapse into stillness]
[Drums fade, leaving only wind and faint ember crackle]
[High frequencies slowly filter out]
The bush is burning…
(Still burning…)
[long fade into silence]

About the Song
“Burning Bush” uses a biblical metaphor of divine signaling—the burning bush as a moment of revelation—to contrast with contemporary wildfires driven by human-induced climate change. While the original story represents attention, awareness, and transformation, the song reframes it through a modern ecological lens: landscapes literally burning before us as warning signs that are often ignored or rationalized away.

The central tension is between perception and recognition. We are surrounded by increasingly visible climate signals—fires, heat, and ecological stress—yet collectively struggle to translate them into meaningful action. The “blindness” in the song is not literal, but cognitive and cultural: an inability or unwillingness to fully register what is already unfolding.

[Intro]
[Begin with wind across stone and distant low drone]
[Add soft, slow hand drum heartbeat pulse]
[Introduce faint choral pad, almost imperceptible]
[Occasional single stone drop sound, spaced irregularly]

[Verse 1 – reflective, grounded storytelling]
[Minimal instrumentation: drone + sparse percussion]
[Let space between words feel intentional]
Along the ridgeline, through weathered ground
Where silence keeps its oldest sound
A stone is placed, then left behind
A thought that time cannot unwind

No ink, no seal, no written claim
Just memory carved without a name
Each hand that comes, each foot that roams
Adds weight to what becomes a home

[Pre-Chorus – slow emotional lift]
[Add soft harmonic swell and deeper bass tone]
A promise held in stacked-up years
A record made without veneers
Not built in haste, but layer by layer
A whispered vow, a silent prayer

[Refrain – central motif, chant-like and communal]
[Add layered vocals, gentle rhythmic emphasis]

[Verse 2 – historical and cultural depth]
[Introduce light frame drum and subtle flute motifs]
Across the hills where forests rise
Where stone and shadow compromise
They mark the paths the old ones knew
And keep the memory passing through

Each pile a witness, slow and still
To journeys made with iron will
To treaties signed in earth and sky
To names the land will not deny

[Pre-Chorus – expanded, more resonance]
[Layered drones intensify slightly]
A single stone becomes a thread

A quiet knock on history’s door

[Refrain – fuller, more immersive]
[Wider stereo field, added choir-like backing]

[Bridge – shift into historical reflection, more intense tone]
[Drums slow, deeper resonance, low-frequency swell]
In valleys where the river bends
The memory never truly ends
From Oley’s hills to forested ground
Where ancient patterns still are found

Some say the hand of settler built
On stones of old, on borrowed guilt
But time reveals a deeper trace
Of presence held in sacred space

[Historical Interlude – spoken/chant hybrid]
[Very sparse instrumentation, almost ceremonial]
Lenni Lenape lands remember still
In stone-built signs upon the hill
From Berks to Clinton, echoes rise
In cones that pierce the forest skies

[Verse 3 – recognition and modern understanding]
[Add steady rhythmic pulse returning]
The science turns its careful eye
To stones that time cannot deny
With light that reads the buried past
Revealing ages meant to last

From centuries beyond the known
To newer paths where seeds were sown
A living archive, earth and bone
A language not of flesh alone

About the Song
Votive & Promise Piles (Memory Piles)

Votive piles—often called “memory piles” or “prayer piles”—are intentional stone stacks built accretively (one stone at a time) over generations. Rather than being constructed all at once, these piles grew as travelers passed by and added a stone to mark a specific event, a prayer, or a safe journey.

Core Purpose & Traditions

Individual Acts of Devotion: Travelers placed a stone to give thanks to the Creator for safe passage or to ask for protection on the road ahead.

Ancestral Honor: In some traditions, placing a stone was a way to remember and honor ancestors who had passed through that same landscape.

Commemorative Piles: Major events, treaties, or battles were sometimes marked with these piles. Every time tribal members walked past, they added a rock to ensure the memory of the event was kept alive.

The Pennsylvania Context: Indigenous Stoneworks

Pennsylvania is home to hundreds of enigmatic, historic stone structures. While early historians often dismissed these as simple colonial “field clearing piles” built by farmers, modern archaeology and luminescence dating confirm many pre-date European contact.

Key Sites in Pennsylvania

The Lenni Lenape (Delaware) and Susquehannock peoples occupied these regions and left behind complex stone signals.

The Oley Hills Site (Berks County): A sprawling 46-acre site containing cone-shaped and flat-topped cairns, perched boulders, and intricate stone rows. Testing suggests some formations date as far back as 570 BC.

Farrandsville Cairns (Clinton County): Neatly organized piles of rocks in shapes of cones and domes found along the Interstate 80 frontier.

Tioga County Mystery Mounds: Towering, cone-shaped stone cairns hidden in remote forests, long kept secret by locals to protect them from looting.

Scientific and Cultural Recognition

Dating the Cairns: Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) dating of sediment and stones in eastern PA has confirmed that many of these ambiguous stone constructions date between 2610 BC and 1740 AD—well before European settlement.

The Turtle Effigy Connection: Some rock piles in the Lehigh Valley and Berks County are believed to be stone effigies representing the turtle—a foundational figure in Lenni Lenape creation stories.

Tribal Recognition: In 2007, the United South and Eastern Tribes (USET) passed a resolution formally recognizing these ceremonial stone landscapes as sacred, prompting the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission to actively document them.

[Verse 2 – expand imagery, slightly stronger rhythm]
[Bring in deeper drum and bass pulse]
Where trails dissolve in rock and sky
They show the way, they testify
To water near or safer ground
To life in places rarely found

A crossing marked where currents slow
A hidden path the few would know
Each careful stack, a message laid
A quiet map that will not fade

[Pre-Chorus – fuller harmony]
[Increase vocal layering, add sustained tones]
Not every hand that placed a stone
Was carving meaning just its own
But adding to a greater thread
Of those who walked and those who led

[Refrain – stronger, more voices]
[Add percussion accents and wider stereo field]
A stone language
(Cairns)
Useful baggage
(Cairns)
Hear our lineage
(Cairns)
See the signage
(Cairns)

[Bridge – reflective, minimal then building]
[Strip to wind, voice, and a single drum]
Some mark a place of rest or end
A life remembered, friend to friend
Some rise where seekers once would stand
And search for meaning in the land

[Gradually add swelling drone and distant choir]
But meanings shift with time and hand
Not all who build will understand
What once was sacred, now unclear
Still echoes if you choose to hear

[Break – spoken or soft vocal passage]
[Very minimal instrumentation, almost ambient]
In every region, every place
The stones reflect a different face
Not all are old, not all are known
Some newer hands have shaped their own

[Final Refrain – full, layered, resonant]
[Full ensemble: drums, drone, flute, layered vocals]
A stone language
(Cairns)
Useful baggage
(Cairns)
Hear our lineage
(Cairns)
See the signage
(Cairns)

[Add harmony lift on final repetition]
A stone language
(Cairns)
Carry passage
(Cairns)
Hold the memory
(Cairns)
Read the legacy
(Cairns)

[Outro – return to stillness]
[Remove drums, leave wind and faint flute]
[Single stone click echoes intermittently]
Stone by stone…
(We’re not alone)
[Long reverb tail fades into silence]

About the Song
Native American Stacked Rock Signals (Cairns)

Native American stacked rock signals, often called cairns, were used in some Indigenous traditions as markers with practical, cultural, and sometimes spiritual meanings. In certain contexts, they functioned as a “stone language,” helping convey information about direction, safety, or significance within the landscape.

Examples of Stacked Rock Uses

  • Trail Markers (Directional):
In rocky or treeless terrain where paths were difficult to see, small stacks of stones helped indicate a route or confirm the correct path.
  • Safety and Navigation:
Some cairns marked safer crossing points, such as shallow areas of rivers, or pointed toward resources like water sources or hunting grounds.
  • Ceremonial or Ritual Markers:
In certain traditions, stone piles were built in meaningful locations, such as hillsides,
and could be associated with ceremonies or spiritual practices.
  • Votive or Offering Piles:
Travelers sometimes added a stone to an existing pile as a gesture of respect or remembrance, symbolizing a prayer, promise, or acknowledgment of a place’s importance.
  • Funerary Markers:
In some regions, stone structures were used to mark burial sites or memorialize the dead.
  • Vision Quest Markers:
During vision quests, participants might build or interact with stone markers as part of
    their spiritual journey.

Regional Presence

These structures have been found across different regions, including the Northeastern United States (New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania) and the Southwest. However, interpretations vary widely by culture and location, and not all cairns are Native American in origin—many were also built later by settlers, farmers clearing fields, or modern hikers.

[Intro – upbeat electronic groove, 140 BPM]
[Start with pulsing synth bass and muted kick]
[Add rhythmic claps and bright arpeggiated synth]
[Filtered vocal chop repeating “go… go…” builds anticipation]

[Verse 1 – driving but controlled energy]
[Introduce full beat with tight hi-hats and punchy kick]
[Keep bassline rhythmic and forward-moving]
Waiting at the edge of now
Counting down but don’t know how
Every second stretches thin
Feel the fire underneath my skin

Signals flashing in my head
All the things we left unsaid
Lines are blurring into one
No more standing, time to run

[Pre-Chorus – lift and tension]
[Pull back drums slightly, add rising synth sweep]
[Increase vocal layering for lift]
Pressure building, can’t stay still
Every doubt is overruled
When the moment calls your name
You don’t hesitate—you change

[Chorus – high energy, anthemic]
[Full drums, wide synths, stacked vocals]
(Much to our delight)
Got the green light
(The sign to go!)
Go, go, go

Gaining insight
(The sign we know)
Know to go

Hit the ignition, feel it ignite
(Breaking the limit, into the light)
No hesitation, all systems rock n’ roll
Ready or not—we’re out-of-control

[Post-Chorus – hook extension]
[Loop instrumental groove, emphasize vocal chops]
Go, go, go
[Add call-and-response backing vocals]
Know to go

[Verse 2 – sustained momentum]
[Keep groove strong, add secondary synth melody]
Every road we never chose
Every fear we overthrew
Now they’re fading in the rear
Nothing left to hold us here

Speeding past the doubt we knew
Every frame a different view
What was distant now is clear
We were always meant to steer

[Pre-Chorus – bigger build than before]
[Add tom fills and risers]
No more waiting on a sign
We define it every time
When the signal turns to truth
We become the living proof

[Chorus – expanded, more layers]
[Add extra harmonies and percussion layers]
(Much to our delight)
Got the green light
(The sign to go!)
Go, go, go

Gaining insight
(The sign we know)
Know to go

Cross the threshold, no looking back
(Right on the edge of a new attack)
Every second starts to glow
(Everything we need—we know)

[Bridge – breakdown and rebuild]
[Strip to bass pulse and vocal]
No red lines, no rewind
Only forward in our mind
[Add rising synth and snare build]
Feel it rushing, no control
Every limit letting go

[Full build into drop]

[Final Chorus – maximum intensity]
[Biggest arrangement: layered synths, heavy drums, crowd-style backing vocals]
Got the green light
(The sign to go!)
Go, go, go

Gaining insight
(The sign we know)
Know to go

Turn the signal into sound
(Lift your feet up off the ground)
All the doors are open wide
(Step into the other side)

[Outro – energetic fade]
[Drop drums, keep arpeggio and vocal echoes]
Go, go, go…
Know to go…
[Gradually filter out highs and fade to silence]

bookmark_borderStarting Gun

[Intro – tense, anticipatory, 95–105 BPM]
[Metronome-like click begins alone]
[Add low bass pulse synced to heartbeat rhythm]
[Distant crowd murmur or wind builds quietly]
[Short snare roll teases the downbeat but cuts out before impact]

[Verse 1 – restrained, coiled energy]
[Minimal beat: kick + rim click, muted synth bass]
We hold the line, we bite the breath
A moment balanced close to death
Between the doubt and what’s begun
All waiting on the starting gun

A thousand thoughts but none released
A coiled spring, a tethered beast
The silence louder than the sound
Before the first step hits the ground

[Pre-Chorus – rising pressure]
[Add hi-hats, gradual filter opening, tension riser]
Every nerve begins to spark
Every shadow leaves the dark
There’s no pause between the signs
Just the crossing of the lines

[Chorus – explosive release]
[Full drums hit hard: kick, snare, cymbals; wide synths]
The starting gun
(Is a clue for you)
Departing… run!
(You know… the signal to go!)

Break the stillness, cut it clean
Split the space that lies between
All the waiting and the run
Everything begins at once

[Post-Chorus – rhythmic hook]
[Loop groove with vocal chops and driving bassline]
Run! run! run!
[Layered call-and-response vocals]
Go! go! go!

[Verse 2 – forward motion, more drive]
[Full groove continues, add arpeggiated synth line]
Feet collide with open air
No more time to be aware
Instinct pulls you through the line
Faster than the conscious mind

Every second multiplies
Measured out in fractured time
What was still is now undone
All because of one… small… gun

[Pre-Chorus – bigger build]
[Add tom fills and rising noise sweep]
Every doubt dissolves away
In the force of forward play
No return, no looking back
Only motion on the track

[Chorus – expanded, more layers]
[Thicker harmonies, additional percussion]
The starting gun
(Is a clue for you)
Departing… run!
(You know… the signal to go!)

Feel the pressure, feel it break
Every move a risk you take
From the silence to the stun
Everything becomes the run

[Bridge – breakdown, psychological focus]
[Strip to pulse and vocal, minimal instrumentation]
Was it choice or was it cue?
Did it start because of you?
Or were you always set to move
Waiting for the proof?

[Gradually reintroduce layers: bass swell, snare build]
Every system locked and primed
Just awaiting perfect time

[Final Chorus – maximum intensity]
[Biggest arrangement: double drums, stacked vocals, wide synth wall]
The starting gun
(Is a clue for you)
Departing… run!
(You know… the signal to go!)

No more waiting, no delay
All conditions now in play
From the spark to what’s begun
We are more than just the run

[Outro – deceleration, echoing aftermath]
[Gradually remove drums, leave bass pulse fading]
[Heartbeat slows, returns to metronome click]
Run…
(Starting gun)
Know…
(To go…)

[Single distant gunshot echo]
[Silence]

A retro-futuristic garage rock track blending industrial hard rock with elements of classic rock psychedelic progressive hyperpop, call and response with four-part harmony and a wide stereo image. Hard rock with heavy metal influences.

[Intro – ambient, slow build, 70–80 BPM]
[Start with low analog synth drone and faint radio static]
[Add reversed piano motifs panned wide left/right]
[Introduce subtle heartbeat-style kick at low volume]

Sign…
(Sign in… begin…)
[Gradually increase reverb tail and stereo width]

[Verse 1 – sparse instrumentation, introspective tone]
[Use soft piano as the primary harmonic layer]
[Add minimal sub-bass, 120 BPM]
We trace the edges in the dark
A fingerprint, a broken arc
A message etched in passing time
A crooked truth we try to climb

The world speaks low in coded sound
Where nothing lost is truly found
We read between the lines we write
Then lose the meaning in the night

[Pre-Chorus – tension build]
[Introduce more percussion: filtered snare and hi-hats]
[Increase synth pad intensity gradually]
If every mark is meant to be
Then what is chance, what’s memory?
A pattern forming out of pain
A loop that circles back again

[Chorus – full production]
[Bring in full drums: kick, snare, layered cymbals]
[Add thick synth bass and harmonic stack vocals]
[Widen stereo field and increase compression slightly for impact]

Sign
(Left behind)
Sign
(Intertwined)
Every echo, every trace
(Lost in space)

[Refrain – stripped back, vocal focus]
[Drop drums, keep ambient pad and light piano]
[Add long vocal reverb and delay throws]
A gesture, action, mark
(Let’s embark)
Through the silence, through the spark
(Let it start)
Every pattern, every line
Feels divine

[Verse 2 – rhythmic return]
[Reintroduce beat with more urgency and tighter hi-hats]
[Add pulsing synth bass under piano]
We build our meaning out of dust
From fractured hope and fading trust
A signal lost in endless streams
Between the real and what it seems

The language bends, the signal breaks
A thousand versions each one makes
And still we search the empty air
For proof that someone else is there

[Bridge – breakdown into minimal tension, then build]
[Strip to near silence: single piano notes + distant noise texture]
[Gradually reintroduce rising synth swell]
If this is written, who holds pen?
And do we break, or start again?
The sign is not what we are shown…
It’s what we make when we’re alone

[Trigger full crescendo: drums, distortion, rising noise sweep, 140 BPM]

[Final Chorus – maximal intensity]
[Full layered production: double drums, stacked harmonies, wide synth wall]
[Add sidechain pumping for movement]

Opening

[Intro]
Opening line:
(“The opening line.”)
Not yet saying much of anything…
(But wait till we all sing…)

[Chorus]
How about we start
(With something from the heart)
An opening line
(To shine fine)
No need to be smart
(Just make it art)
From the very first sign
(It’s yours, it’s mine)

[Refrain]
Shine, shine, shine
(Shine on our time)
Shine so fine
(Shine, shine, shine)
Shine!
(Let it align)
Shine!
(All in one line)

[Verse 1]
Blank page staring, daring you
To make it something pure and true
Every word a step you take
Every silence wide awake

Don’t overthink the way it flows
Just let the first impression grow
A spark becomes a guiding thread
Before a single word is said

[Pre-Chorus]
It doesn’t need to be profound
Just something living, something sound
A doorway made of air and light
Opening into what feels right

[Chorus]
How about we start
(With something from the heart)
An opening line
(To shine fine)
No need to depart
(From what you are)
Just let it align
(It’s opening time)

[Refrain]
Shine, shine, shine
(Shine on our time)
Shine so fine
(Shine, shine, shine)
Shine!
(Through every line)
Shine!
(It’s all design)

[Bridge]
One small phrase
Can change the room
A single breath
Can make it bloom

The start is small
But starts it all
A whispered call
Before the fall

[Build-Up]
(One line…)
(One light…)
(One line…)
(It’s right…)

[Final Chorus]
How about we start
(With something from the heart)
An opening line
(To shine fine)
No need to restart
(It plays its part)
From the very first sign
(It’s opening time)

[Refrain / Outro]
Shine, shine, shine
(Shine on our time)
Shine so fine
(Shine, shine, shine)
Shine…
(Still in my mind)
Shine…
(The opening line…)

Line

[Intro]
It’s about time
We got a line
On reality
(Really)

[Chorus]
Have we crossed the line
(Stepped past the present)
Have we messed with time
(Humanity’s crime)
Are we too far gone
(To rewind the warning)
Or just holding on
(To a world still forming)

[Verse 1]
Static in the signal, voices out of phase
Truth bent in the mirror of a data haze
Every step we take leaves a deeper trace
Etched into the code we can’t erase

Numbers climb like towers in the sky
Predictions sold as reasons why
We justify the shifting ground
While silence makes the loudest sound

[Pre-Chorus]
We drew the map but lost the key
We built the lock, forgot to see
The door was never meant to hide
What we buried deep inside

[Chorus]
Have we crossed the line
(Stepped past the present)
Have we messed with time
(Humanity’s crime)
Did we blur the edge
(Of what was sacred)
For a thinner thread
(Of what we created)

[Verse 2]
Cities breathe in rhythms out of sync
Rivers rise faster than we think
Every warning written in the rain
Still we gamble futures for the gain

Fragments of a timeline split apart
Logic fights the chaos in the heart
We keep chasing shadows in the light
Calling every wrong turn “right”

[Pre-Chorus]
We traced the fault but drew it straight
Ignored the tremor, tempted fate
Now every second feels confined
To the echo of a line

[Chorus]
Have we crossed the line
(Stepped past the present)
Have we messed with time
(Humanity’s crime)
Is there still a way
(To redraw the border)
Or are we the fray
(In growing disorder)

[Bridge]
A line in the sand
A line in the code
A line we defend
A line we erode

We thought it was fixed
A boundary, a rule
But lines start to drift
When drawn by a fool

[Build-Up]
(It’s about time…)
(We got a line…)
(It’s about time…)
(On reality…)

[Final Chorus]
Have we crossed the line
(No more pretending)
Have we lost the time
(No happy ending)
Can we still define
(What we once believed in)
Or erase the line
(And start the healing)

[Outro]
It’s about time…
We draw the line…

Unaligned (Line) Dance

[Intro]
Don’t line up… just move…
(To the groove)

[Refrain]
Unaligned Dance
(Dance at every chance)
It’s our circumstance
(Unaligned Dance!)
Dance!
(…in an unaligned line dance)

[Verse 1]
Step to the side but not the same
Everyone’s out of sync in the frame
Left goes right and right goes wrong
But somehow it all fits in the song

No formation, no command
Freestyle rhythm, understand
If you miss it, that’s the plan
Lose the line and find the jam

[Pre-Chorus]
Don’t wait—just break
Every move you never fake
Off-beat—heartbeat
Let it pull you from your seat

[Refrain]
Unaligned Dance
(Dance at every chance)
It’s our circumstance
(Unaligned Dance!)
Dance!
(…in an unaligned line dance)

[Verse 2]
Different steps in different time
Every body draws their line
No two moves are ever the same
Still we’re all inside the frame

Turn around or stand in place
Find your rhythm, set your pace
No wrong way, no straight advance
Just fall into the unaligned dance

[Pre-Chorus]
No rules—just groove
Every way you wanna move
Off-grid—no script
Let the pattern start to slip

[Refrain]
Unaligned Dance
(Dance at every chance)
It’s our circumstance
(Unaligned Dance!)
Dance!
(…in an unaligned line dance)

[Bridge]
Out of line
(In time)
Off the track
(Don’t look back)

Lose control
(Feel the flow)
No design
(It’s all fine)

[Final Drop / Refrain]
Unaligned Dance
(Dance at every chance)
It’s our circumstance
(Unaligned Dance!)
Dance!
(…in an unaligned line dance)

[Outro]
Dance…
(Unaligned…)
Dance…

Lucky Break

[Verse 1]
Walked in late, didn’t plan a thing
Clock was ticking like a warning ring
Turn the corner, what do I find?
Empty space where there’s always a line

No hesitation, step right through
Like the world just made room for you
All the chaos, all the delay
Took a pause and slipped away

[Verse 2]
Traffic parts like a hidden door
Green lights line up, nothing more
Every step hits perfectly
Like chance is working quietly

People rushing, unaware
That luck just brushed the air
You don’t chase it, don’t demand
It lands soft, right in your hand

[Pre-Chorus]
It’s not the plan you draw in lines
It’s what escapes between the signs
A fleeting shift, a subtle sign
A crack that opens—just in time

[Chorus]
It’s a lucky break
(A short line)
The sake of great
(Just in time)
Shift the weight
(Realign)
Change of fate
(No design)

[Bridge]
A second gained
A moment found
A quiet space
In all the sound

We call it luck
We call it chance
But maybe it’s
A passing glance

[Build-Up]
(Just in time…)
(Just in time…)
(Just in time…)

[Final Chorus]
It’s a lucky break
(A short line)
The sake of great
(Just in time)
Hold it close
(Don’t define)
Let it go
(It’s not mine)

[Outro]
You don’t find it…
(Still… never quit)
And, luck finds you…
(True to what you do)

Queue

[Intro]
What’s your queue IQ?

[Chorus]
I can’t stand…
(…to stand in line)
Lose command…
(…of my time)
Wait and wait…
(…just to move an inch)
Anticipate…
(…then it starts again)

[Verse 1]
Numbers on a screen, never quite true
Blink and it changes, now you’re forty-two
People shifting weight from foot to foot
Every glance forward like a hook

Time drips slow in a crowded space
Every second stretches out of place
Clocks don’t tick, they hesitate
In the gravity of “please just wait”

[Pre-Chorus]
Step by step, but nothing moves
Lines rewrite their own grooves
Order fades into delay
System bends but won’t obey

[Chorus]
I can’t stand…
(…to stand in line)
Lose command…
(…of my time)
Hold the place…
(…but lose the thread)
Face to face…
(…with what we dread)

[Verse 2]
Queue the code, the endless stream
Digital lines in a waiting dream
Buffered lives in a loading bar
Always close, but never are

Priority passes, hidden tiers
Invisible ladders built on years
Some move fast, some barely crawl
Same long line beneath it all

[Pre-Chorus]
Every system has its flaw
Invisible but running law
You can’t see it, still you wait
At the edge of “almost late”

[Chorus]
I can’t stand…
(…to stand in line)
Lose command…
(…of my time)
Break the chain…
(…or fall in place)
Same refrain…
(…in every space)

[Bridge]
A line in the store
A line in the code
A line at the door
A line that we load

We think it’s control
We think it’s by design
But we’re just the flow
Inside the line

[Build-Up]
(What’s your queue…)
(What’s your cue…)
(What’s your queue…)
(IQ…)

[Final Chorus]
I can’t stand…
(…to stand in line)
Lose command…
(…of my time)
Cut ahead…
(…or fall behind)
All we dread…
(…by design)

[Outro]
What’s your queue IQ…
When the line…
Is you…

High-Water

[Intro]
There’s a line…
Drawn where the water used to be…
Measured… marked… remembered…
But not anymore…
(An unsure shore)

[Build]
It was once in fifty years…
Now it’s every few…

[Chorus]
What is new?
(All’s askew)
Movin’ up the high-water line
(One more time)
Time, time, time
(Breaking the baseline)
Drawn in sand
(No longer stands)
Movin’ up the high-water line
(One more time)

[Verse 1]
Marked by the debris and the bend in the grass
Lines in the dirt from the futures we passed
Once just a measure of where it would stay
Now it keeps moving, it won’t obey

Concrete veins and rivers confined
Channels designed for a different time
Storm drains choke as the pressure climbs
Every inch redraws the line

[Pre-Chorus]
Fifty years compressed to days
Patterns shifting out of phase
One in a hundred—breaking through
Now it’s just what waters do

[Chorus]
What is new?
(All’s askew)
Movin’ up the high-water line
(One more time)
Time, time, time
(No warning sign)
Cross the edge
(Over the ledge)
Movin’ up the high-water line
(One more time)

[Verse 2]
Saturated ground with nowhere to go
Impervious cities reflecting the flow
Every surface turns into a stream
Overflow bursting at every seam

Designed for a past that no longer fits
Numbers collapse under stronger hits
Threshold crossed and systems unwind
Floods don’t stop at the old design

[Pre-Chorus]
Every few years, the cycle repeats
History rushing through crowded streets
What we called rare now defines
The shifting shape of the line

[Chorus]
What is new?
(All’s askew)
Movin’ up the high-water line
(One more time)
Time, time, time
(Accelerating climb)
Hold the ground
(It won’t be found)
Movin’ up the high-water line
(One more time)

[Bridge]
A line in the soil
A line on a chart
A line we believed
Would not fall apart

But water remembers
What we redefine
And rewrites the edge
Of the high-water line

[Build-Up]
(One in a hundred…)
(Every few years…)
(One in a hundred…)
(Already here…)
(An unsure shore)
An unsure future

[Final Chorus]
What is new?
(All’s askew)
Movin’ up the high-water line
(One more time)
Time, time, time
(No stable line)
Drawn again
(And gone again)
Movin’ up the high-water line
(One more time)

[Outro]
The line was never fixed…
We were just perplexed
(An unsure shore)
An unsure future

About the Song
What is a high-water line?
The high-water line is the boundary where a body of water—river, lake, or sea—usually reaches at its highest normal tide or level, often marked by debris, vegetation changes, or sediment deposits. It represents the intersection of the water surface with the shore at peak, non-storm conditions, often used in land surveying.

What’s happening to the high-water line?

Michael E. Mann at the University of Pennsylvania examined the same real-world case we used in our “violent rain” experiment—Hurricane Ida flooding the Vine Street Expressway—and reached a similar conclusion: extreme rainfall and flooding impacts are accelerating, with urban infrastructure amplifying the effects.

https://penntoday.upenn.edu/news/when-schuylkill-swallowed-city-lessons-hurricane-idas-historic-flood

Their analysis shows that saturated soils, impervious surfaces, and overwhelmed drainage systems significantly intensify flood severity. Events that were once expected (based on mid-20th-century statistics) to occur roughly every 50 years are now occurring far more frequently—on the order of every few years in some cases. They also identify the so-called “1-in-100-year” threshold as a critical tipping point, where flooding exceeds containment capacity and rapidly spreads across urban areas.

Findings published in npj Natural Hazards:

https://www.nature.com/articles/s44304-026-00186-8

Our 2023 work presents a comparable framework, including similar visual evidence in The Philadelphia Violent Rain Experiment:

http://kingarthur.com/global_warming/Violent-Rain.html

Bottom line: The “high-water line” is not static—it is rising and occurring more often, driven by both intensifying climate signals and infrastructure that was not designed for today’s extremes.

Ash Devils and Black Rain (Over the Line)

[Intro]
Two systems…
One burning… one falling…
(Hear Mother calling?)
Different skies… same line…
(Out of time?)
Over the line

[Build]
Ash lifts…
(Human rifts)
Rain darkens…
(Reason harkens)

[Chorus]
Ash devils and black rain
(Are any that remain sane?)
Human suffering and pain
(Ash devils and black rain)
Cross the edge, cross the line
(Warning signs we redefine)
Ash devils and black rain
(Over and over again)

[Verse 1]
Heat bends air till it starts to spin
Fire writes circles under the wind
Ash and embers carried high
Twisting signals in the sky

Ground runs dry, the pressure climbs
Built for another place in time
Lines once drawn begin to fade
In every spark the shift is made

[Pre-Chorus]
Hot air rises, pulls and turns
Every lesson slowly burns
What was stable, what was known
Now moves in ways we’ve never shown

[Chorus]
[Fuller, Heavier, Cymbal Washes]
Ash devils and black rain
(Are any that remain sane?)
Human suffering and pain
(Ash devils and black rain)
Spinning fast, falling slow
(Where it stops, we don’t know)
Ash devils and black rain
(Again and again and again)

[Verse 2]
Fire meets steel and fractured ground
Explosions tear the silence down
Soot ascends, the sky absorbs
Rain returns what it records

Blackened drops on land and sea
Carrying what we can’t unsee
Every fall a signal sent
From the cost of what we’ve spent

[Pre-Chorus]
Ash to air and air to rain
Cycle writes itself again
Every loop accelerates
Every edge destabilizes
(No one realizes)

[Chorus]
Ash devils and black rain
(Are any that remain sane?)
Human suffering and pain
(Ash devils and black rain)
Lines dissolve, systems strain
(Feedback loops we can’t contain)
Ash devils and black rain
(Again and again and again)

[Bridge]
A line in the fire
A line in the sky
A line in the water
We thought would hold dry

But heat feeds the motion
And motion feeds flame
And flame feeds the sky
That returns it as rain

[Build-Up]
(More heat…)
(More fire…)
(More ash…)
(More rain…)
(More pain…)

[Final Chorus]
Ash devils and black rain
(No system remains unchanged)
Human suffering and pain
(Written into every chain)
Over the line, over again
(Where does it end, where does it end?)
Ash devils and black rain
(Over the line again)

[Outro]
It’s not one event…
(It’s the entire present)
It’s the system…
(It’s where I am)
(Out of time)
Over the line

[Rain fades → Silence]

About the Song
Ash Devils and Black Rain: Two Extreme Fire–Carbon Phenomena Emerging From Intensifying Disasters

In early May 2026, two striking and very different atmospheric events emerged from fire- and carbon-intensive systems: ash devils in Southern California wildfires and reports of “black rain” in the Black Sea region following industrial strikes. While geographically and causally distinct, both reflect a broader pattern in which human-driven combustion, infrastructure stress, and atmospheric feedbacks are increasingly interacting in extreme ways.

Ash Devils: Fire-Driven Atmospheric Vortices

During active wildfire operations in Southern California, firefighters observed ash devils near the Trinity Fire in the Phelan area.

These are fire-generated vortices formed when:

  • Extreme wildfire heat rapidly warms surface air
  • Hot air rises and induces localized rotation
  • The vortex lifts ash, embers, and debris into the atmosphere

They are a visible expression of how intense combustion events can reorganize local atmospheric dynamics, spreading particulate matter unpredictably.

Black Rain: Industrial Combustion Meets Weather Systems

At the same time, reports from the Black Sea region described “black rain” following drone strikes on oil infrastructure near Tuapse.

The sequence involved:

  • Explosions and fires at petroleum facilities
  • Large-scale release of soot, hydrocarbons, and aerosols
  • Interaction of these emissions with rainfall systems

The result was precipitation contaminated with dark particulates and oily residues, with reported impacts on coastal ecosystems, wildlife, and human health.

A Shared System: Fire, Carbon, and Feedback Acceleration

Although one event is wildfire-driven and the other conflict-driven industrial combustion, both reflect the same underlying system pressure:

Human exploitation of carbon-based energy systems is increasingly feeding back into the climate and atmospheric system itself.

Key interacting processes include:

  • Combustion emissions (wildfire, fossil fuels, industrial fires)
  • Aerosol loading of the atmosphere (soot, ash, particulate matter)
  • Extreme heat and drying conditions that amplify fire behavior
  • Infrastructure vulnerability under stress and conflict conditions

These processes are not isolated—they reinforce each other through feedback loops:

  • More heat → more fire intensity
  • More fire → more aerosols and radiative effects
  • More aerosols and greenhouse gases → further warming and instability

Broader Implication: A Coupled Human–Climate System

What links these events is not just coincidence, but a growing coupling between human systems and climate systems:

  • Energy extraction and combustion
  • Industrial and military infrastructure damage
  • Land-use stress and wildfire expansion
  • Atmospheric redistribution of pollutants

Together, these contribute to a system in which human activity is no longer external to climate change, but embedded within its accelerating feedback structure.

While individual events are local, the underlying trend is increasingly systemic: amplified extremes emerging from interacting climate, energy, and conflict dynamics.

Conclusion

Ash devils and black rain are different manifestations of the same broader reality:
a world where combustion, resource extraction, and environmental stress are increasingly reinforcing atmospheric instability rather than operating independently of it.

The result is not a single cause-and-effect pathway, but a network of accelerating feedbacks linking human activity and climate behavior.

Item

[Intro]
Every cost…
(Have we lost)
Finds its line…
(All the time)
Every line…
(They can trace)
From its place…

[Build]
What you thought was nothing…
Shows up as something…

[Verse 1]
Signed the page without a second look
Buried deep in the numbers and the book
Small print hiding in plain sight
Daylight cost in the dead of night

Rounded down till it disappears
Shifted forward across the years
Every “free” has a place to land
Written neat in a careful hand

[Pre-Chorus]
Have we no choice
(On the invoice)
Silent fee
(In the noise)
Every line
(Has a voice)
Every sum
(Is a choice)

[Chorus]
Oh, it cannot be
(The line item entry)
We thought it was free
(…let us down gently)
Hidden in plain sight
(Under every line)
What we never see
(Shows up every time)

[Verse 2]
Costs deferred but never gone
Carried forward, added on
Every balance finds its weight
Soon or later, calculates

Time is billed in unseen ways
Interest grows in quiet days
Nothing slips beyond the frame
Every line can stake a claim

[Pre-Chorus]
Have we no choice
(On the invoice)
What we hide
(Becomes the price)
Every break
(Has a cost)
Every gain
(Counts the loss)

[Chorus]
Oh, it cannot be
(The line item entry)
We thought it was free
(…let us down gently)
Every hidden fee
(Comes to define)
What we failed to see
(Was already signed)

[Bridge]
A line on a page
(Spending outrage)
A number assigned
(A quiet exchange)
Between truth and design

We measure the world
(In columns and lines)
But miss what it means
(Between the signs)

[Build-Up]
(Add it up…)
(Line by line…)
(Add it up…)
(Every time…)

[Final Chorus]
Oh, it cannot be
(The line item entry)
We thought it was free
(No, not really)
Every cost we deny
(Reappears in time)
Every “free” we rely
(Was a hidden line)

[Outro]
Nothing’s missing…
(That’s karma kissing)
It’s all accounted for…
(Justifies before)

[End → Silence]

About the Song
A line item is an individual entry or row in a financial document—such as an invoice, budget, or balance sheet—that details a specific product, service, or expense.

Our Pockets

[Intro]
We thought it was ours…
(All our hours)
To take…
(Shake and break)
To lose sleep
(For what we keep…)

[Build]
Dig it up…
Pull it out…

[Refrain]
We lined our pockets
(With Mother Nature’s treasures)
So our stocks rocket
(But if nothing else endures?)

We mined the mines
(And said, “All mine!”)
With a “Take! Take! Take!”
(Humanity’s mistake)
Insanity’s intake
(“Take! Take! Take!”)

Gotta learn to live (to give!)
(Gotta learn to live) to give!

[Verse 1]
Pulled from the ground, burned in the air
Counted the gains, ignored the wear
Every resource turned to a line
Profit and loss by design

Forests fall into numbers and charts
Oceans priced into broken parts
What we extract, we justify
While futures shrink beneath the sky

[Pre-Chorus]
Every gain we celebrate
Carries forward hidden weight
What we call a rising climb
Borrows from another time

[Refrain]
We lined our pockets
(With Mother Nature’s treasures)
So our stocks rocket
(But if nothing else endures?)

We mined the mines
(And said, “All mine!”)
With a “Take! Take! Take!”
(Humanity’s mistake)
Insanity’s intake
(“Take! Take! Take!”)

Gotta learn to live (to give!)
(Gotta learn to live) to give!

[Verse 2]
[Expanded Arrangement, Darker Tone]
Smoke in the sky, heat in the ground
Cycles we broke now spin us around
Every system pushed to the edge
Balanced once, now hanging on ledge

We took the yield, ignored the cost
Measured the win, but never the loss
Every “more” we chased in time
Moved the edge of the final line

[Pre-Chorus]
Every “take” becomes a debt
One we haven’t counted yet
Every line we try to own
Echoes back in what we’ve sown

[Refrain]
We lined our pockets
(With Mother Nature’s treasures)
So our stocks rocket
(But if nothing else endures?)

We mined the mines
(And said, “All mine!”)
With a “Take! Take! Take!”
(Humanity’s mistake)
Insanity’s intake
(“Take! Take! Take!”)

Gotta learn to live (to give!)
(Gotta learn to live) to give!

[Bridge]
A hand that takes
Will empty fast
A line that climbs
May never last

What we consume
Becomes the weight
Of what we face
If left too late

[Build-Up]
(Give…)
(Give…)
(Learn to give…)

[Final Refrain]
We lined our pockets
(Now we measure the pressure)
So our stocks rocket
(But at what cost forever?)

We mined the mines
(No longer “all mine!”)
Hear the “Take! Take! Take!”
(Turn to give for our sake)
Reverse the intake
(No more “Take! Take! Take!”)

Gotta learn to live (to give!)
(Gotta learn to live) to give!

[Outro]
What we take…
(Shake n’ break)
Defines our remains…
(And our level in life’s games)

Draw

[Intro]
Every side… claims the line…
(Fallen pride… time crime)

[Build]
Who draws it…
Who decides…
(Who walks… who rides?)

[Chorus]
Partner,
(Draw!)
Martyr
(Flaw)
Take your aim
(Call the law)
Name the line
(Break the awe)

[Refrain]
Draw the line
(Between wrong and right)
Draw the line
(Between justice and fight)
Draw the line
(In the fading light)
Draw the line
(Bring insight in sight)

[Verse 1]
Lines in the sand shift with the tide
Truth gets bent depending on side
Every claim comes dressed in belief
Every answer hides a relief

Words get sharp when stakes are high
Echoes form the reasons why
What was clear begins to blur
Every voice becomes a slur

[Pre-Chorus]
We define to feel control
Draw the border, play the role
But every edge we try to frame
Starts to flicker, shift, and change

[Chorus]
Partner,
(Draw!)
Martyr
(Flaw)
Pick your ground
(Stand in awe)
Call it truth
(Or call it war)

[Refrain]
Draw the line
(Between wrong and right)
Draw the line
(Between justice and fight)
Draw the line
(Through the noise and spite)
Draw the line
(But it won’t stay tight)

[Verse 2]
[Fuller Arrangement, Darker Tone]
History carved in shifting lines
Redrawn over fractured times
Every border tells a tale
Of who prevailed and who would fail

Rules are written, then undone
By the many or the one
Every mark we try to keep
Gets rewritten, buried deep

[Pre-Chorus]
Every answer splits in two
Every “false” reflects a “true”
What we hold begins to bend
At the line we try to defend

[Chorus]
Partner,
(Draw!)
Martyr
(Flaw)
Hold the line
(Or let it fall)
Name your side
(After all)

[Refrain]
Draw the line
(Between wrong and right)
Draw the line
(Between justice and fight)
Draw the line
(In the endless night)
Draw the line
(Let’s incite insight)

[Bridge]
A line is a promise
A line is a claim
A line is a boundary
We try to name

But lines don’t hold
The way we pretend
They shift at the start
They blur at the end

[Build-Up]
(Draw…)
(Draw…)
(Draw…)

[Final Chorus]
Partner,
(Draw!)
Martyr
(Flaw)
Every line
(Reveals it all)
Every truth
(Starts to crawl)

[Refrain / Outro]
Draw the line
(Between wrong and right)
Draw the line
(Between justice and fight)
Draw the line…
(Watch it rewrite…)

Over

[Intro]
You don’t notice it…
Until you’re already past it…
(Should know when to quit)

[Verse 1]
Started small, just a shift in tone
One more step, now you’re on your own
Didn’t feel like a change at all
Till you turned and you saw the fall

Every inch seemed justified
Every move had a place to hide
But the marker’s not where it was
And the line doesn’t care because…

[Verse 2]
Rules were clear till they began to bend
Every limit had an open end
What you swore you’d never do
Now looks different coming through

Signals blur, the lines erase
You adjust to the shifting space
Every boundary you redefine
Till there’s nothing left to define

[Pre-Chorus]
Every reason starts to slide
Every “no” gets justified
What was wrong becomes aligned
When you move the line in time

[Chorus]
Soon to discover…
(Over!)
…the line
(Gone this time)
Sorry, mam, yes I am
(Over the line)
Step by step, see the sign
(Over the line)

[Bridge]
A line is drawn
(Then worn away)
A quiet shift
(You don’t betray)

Until it’s clear
(There’s no return)
The edge you crossed
(Is where you learn)

[Build-Up]
(Over…)
(Over…)
(Over…)

[Final Chorus]
Soon to discover…
(Over!)
…the line
(No rewind)
Sorry, mam, yes I am
(Over the line)
No excuse, no disguise
(Over the line)

[Outro]
Don’t need to cross the line…
Just move it through time…

Up

[Intro]
Step right up… don’t miss your place…
(There’s limited space)

[Build]
Get ready…
Here we go…
(Start the flow!)

[Refrain]
Line up
(Line up… the show’s about to begin!)
Line up
(It’s time to come on in!)
Line up
(Don’t let the moment slip away!)
Line up
(It’s all happening today!)

[Verse 1]
Ticket in your hand, you feel the beat
Buzz in the air from the crowd on the street
Every step closer, the tension climbs
Waiting together in shifting lines

Faces glow in the neon light
Every stranger feels just right
All for one and one for now
Ready for the rise somehow

[Pre-Chorus]
You can feel it building up
Every second fills the cup
Hold your place, don’t look away
This is where it starts to play

[Refrain]
Line up
(Line up… the show’s about to begin!)
Line up
(It’s time to come on in!)
Line up
(Feel the rhythm pulling you!)
Line up
(It’s coming into view!)

[Verse 2]
Doors swing wide, the lights ignite
Sound hits hard like a wave of light
Every voice becomes the sound
Of something bigger all around

No more waiting, no delay
The line dissolves into the play
All the build now breaking through
From me to them to all to you

[Pre-Chorus]
Every heartbeat in sync now
Feel the rise, don’t ask how
From the edge into the spin
Where it ends is where we begin

[Refrain]
Line up
(Line up… the show’s about to begin!)
Line up
(It’s time to come on in!)
Line up
(Everything is opening!)
Line up
(Let the night begin!)

[Bridge]
We wait in lines
We mark the time
But when it starts
There is no line

Just sound and light
And moving through
The space between
Me and you

[Build-Up]
(Line up…)
(Line up…)
(Line up…)

[Final Refrain]
Line up
(Line up… the show’s about to begin!)
Line up
(It’s time to come on in!)
Line up
(No more waiting in line!)
Line up
(It’s your time, it’s your time!)

[Outro]
You waited…
(Anticipated)
Now you’re in…
(It’s a win-win)
Things are looking up
(Up, up, up)

Hook and Sinker

[Intro]
Too good to be true…
(Couldn’t happen to you)
Still sounds right…
(Having lost sight)

[Build]
Cast it out…
(Jump about)
Reel it in…
(Begin)

[Chorus]
Oh, well…
…fell for something
(Anything. Everything.)
Hook, line, and sinker
(Time to be a thinker)
Bit the bait again
(Didn’t even blink, or)
Hook, line, and sinker
(Deeper than we think, sir)

[Verse 1]
Headline flashes, moving fast
Truth gets buried in the blast
Every claim a sharper hook
Wrapped in something that looks good

Scroll and swipe, no time to doubt
Feel it hit before you think it out
Every story pulling tight
Dragging reason out of sight

[Pre-Chorus]
If it fits, it must be real
If it stings, it must appeal
Every line designed to land
Right before you understand

[Chorus]
Oh, well…
…fell for something
(Anything. Everything.)
Hook, line, and sinker
(Time to be a thinker)
Caught inside the spin
(Reeling ever quicker)
Hook, line, and sinker
(Pulled in even slicker)

[Refrain]
Believe every story
(Believe every lie)
Make it more gory
(In the haste for glory)
Lie after lie
(Bye-bye)
Truth passes by
(Why try?)

[Verse 2]
Echo chambers amplify
Every angle, every side
What begins as just a thread
Turns into a net instead

Sharpened hooks in every feed
Tailored truths for what you need
Every click a deeper tie
To the line you won’t deny

[Pre-Chorus]
If it spreads, it must be true
If it trends, it’s meant for you
Every hook already set
Long before you place your bet

[Chorus]
Oh, well…
…fell for something
(Anything. Everything.)
Hook, line, and sinker
(Time to be a thinker)
Try to pull away
(But it pulls you quicker)
Hook, line, and sinker
(Now you’re in it deeper)

[Refrain]
Believe every story
(Believe every lie)
Make it more gory
(In the haste for glory)
Lie after lie
(Bye-bye)
Truth slips by
(Goodbye)

[Bridge]
A hook is small
But holds you tight
A line is thin
But wins the fight

A sinker falls
You follow through
Before you know
It’s holding you

[Build-Up]
(Think…)
(Think…)
(Time to think…)

[Final Chorus]
Oh, well…
…fell for something
(Anything. Everything.)
Hook, line, and sinker
(Time to be a thinker)
Break the line this time
(Cut it quicker, quicker)
Hook, line, and sinker
(Or be pulled in forever)

[Outro]
Not everything that hooks you…
(Is true)
No, not worth the catch…
(Careful what ya fetch)

In the Sand

[Intro]
We drew it once…
(Like a dunce)
Said “no further”…
(Now no fervor)
… the tide kept moving…
(Further disproving)

[Build]
Step by step…
Grain by grain…

[Chorus]
We’ve reached
(A line in the sand)
We’ve breached
(Our time in command)
Too far
(To turn it around)
We are
(On shifting ground)

[Verse 1]
Marked it clear where we would stand
Drew the edge with careful hand
Every promise, every claim
Written out to stake the frame

But the wind began to speak
Soft at first, then growing weak
Till the line we thought was strong
Couldn’t hold for very long

[Pre-Chorus]
Every step we justified
Moved the boundary from inside
What we swore we wouldn’t cross
Shifted slowly into loss

[Chorus]
We’ve reached
(A line in the sand)
We’ve breached
(Our time in command)
No trace
(Of where it began)
Erase
(The line in the sand)

[Verse 2]
Tides return without a sound
Washing every marker down
What was fixed becomes undone
Under moon and rising sun

Every edge we tried to keep
Sinks beneath what runs so deep
Lines don’t hold the way we planned
When they’re written in the sand

[Pre-Chorus]
Every warning we ignored
Every boundary we restored
Breaks again beneath the strain
Of the same repeating frame

[Chorus]
We’ve reached
(A line in the sand)
We’ve breached
(Our time in command)
Too late
(To understand)
The weight
(Of shifting sand)

[Bridge]
A line is a vow
A line is a stand
A line is a moment
You think you command

But time is the tide
And change is the hand
That rewrites the meaning
Of lines in the sand

[Build-Up]
(Line in the sand…)
(Line in the sand…)

[Final Chorus]
We’ve reached
(A line in the sand)
We’ve breached
(Our time in command)
No ground
(Left to defend)
No line
(Left in the sand)

[Outro]
It wasn’t the line…
(It was our time)
It was us…
(That made our mess)

About the Song
The phrase “line in the sand” is an idiom that refers to a point of no return or a limit beyond which one will not go without consequences.

Time

[Intro]
It feels endless…
Until it doesn’t…
(What is… wasn’t)

[Build]
Scroll it back…
Watch it pass…
(Into the past)

[Chorus]
Did you see the sign
(On your timeline)
Doesn’t reach infinity
(Due to mortality)
Every moment fades
(As it’s defined)
Just a passing line
(On your timeline)

[Verse 1]
Marked in posts and memories
Fragments of identity
Every second captured there
Still dissolves into thin air

We record to make it last
But the present slips to past
Every “now” becomes a trace
In a never-ending race

[Pre-Chorus]
You can scroll but never stay
Every frame just fades away
What you hold begins to blur
As the next replaces “were”

[Chorus]
Did you see the sign
(On your timeline)
Doesn’t reach infinity
(Due to mortality)
Every line you write
(Will unwind)
Just a passing sign
(On your timeline)

[Verse 2]
Years compress in fleeting views
Highlighted and filtered hues
What we choose to amplify
Still can’t stop the passing by

Time’s not stored in what we show
But in all we’ll never know
Every silence, every space
Lives beyond the saved embrace

[Pre-Chorus]
You can count but not contain
Every loss and every gain
What we measure, what we see
Isn’t all that time can be

[Chorus]
Did you see the sign
(On your timeline)
Doesn’t reach infinity
(Due to mortality)
Every life defined
(By its line)
Just a passing sign
(On your timeline)

[Bridge]
A line begins
A line will end
No way to pause
No way to bend

We try to mark
We try to keep
But time moves on
Too vast, too deep

[Build-Up]
(Time…)
(Time…)
(In time…)

[Final Chorus]
Did you see the sign
(On your timeline)
Doesn’t reach infinity
(No, not this time)
Every second gone
(By design)
Just a fading line
(On your timeline)

[Outro]
It was never endless…
Just… in motion…
(Now a new notion)
… a knew notion

Base

[Intro]
We called it “normal”…
(Not normal at all)
Set the line…
(Set the time)
Held it still…
(Against its will)
While everything moved…
(Look what we’ve proved)

[Refrain]
It’s become too long
(Baseline)
It’s the same ole’ song
(Out of time)
When you think things are going fine
(Better readjust your baseline)
…before running out of time

[Verse 1]
Averaged out what used to be
Smoothed the curve so we could see
What was stable, what was known
In a world less overthrown

Thirty years to draw the frame
Measure shifts, assign a name
But the pace began to climb
Faster than the measured time

[Refrain]
It’s become too long
(Baseline)
It’s the same ole’ song
(Out of time)
When you think things are going fine
(Better readjust your baseline)
…before running out of time

[Verse 2]
What we call the “normal range”
Shifts beneath accelerating change
Edges move while we compare
To a past no longer there

Benchmarks set in slower days
Now can blur the sharper phase
What we miss between the lines
Is the speed of steep inclines

[Pre-Chorus]
Every decade rewrites scale
Old assumptions start to fail
If the baseline stays the same
We misread the growing flame

[Refrain]
It’s become too long
(Baseline)
It’s the same ole’ song
(Out of time)
When you think things are going fine
(Better readjust your baseline)
…before running out of time

[Bridge]
A line we trust
A line we hold
But time has changed
The story told

If change is fast
And lines are slow
We miss the truth
We need to know

[Build-Up]
(Readjust…)
(Readjust…)
It’s about time
(Baseline…)

[Final Refrain]
It’s become too long
(No baseline)
It’s the same ole’ song
(Out of time)
When you think things are going fine
(You’re behind the baseline)
…running out of time

[Outro]
Baseline
(… can’t rewind….)

About the Song
A climate change baseline is a 30-year reference period (commonly 1961–1990 or 1995–2014) used to measure modern climate shifts. It provides a “normal” for comparing temperature and emissions changes, with 1850–1900 often used to approximate pre-industrial conditions. These benchmarks are essential for tracking progress against global warming targets, such as the 1.5°C limit.

The limitation of a fixed 30-year baseline is that the climate system is now changing rapidly. When conditions shift on decadal timescales, a long baseline can smooth or lag emerging trends, making the pace and intensity of current impacts harder to capture in real time.

The acceleration of climate change.

What’s?

[Verse 1]
Every choice you frame as right
Finds its edge in shade or light
Every rule you try to keep
Runs through something buried deep

Justice calls in measured tone
But compassion stands alone
What you choose to emphasize
Shapes the truth you realize

[Verse 2]
Lines get drawn in shifting sand
Held by heart or held by hand
Every stance can drift apart
From the place it got its start

What you guard and what you give
Shapes the way we choose to live
Every “must” and every “may”
Leads us down a different way

[Chorus]
What’s your line
(Is it about crime)
Or is your line
(Putting love above)
Where you stand
(When push comes to shove)
…what of the love?

[Bridge]
A line can be
(A line can bind)
A line can free
(Or close the mind)

[Build-Up]
(What’s…)
(What’s your…)
(Line…)

[Final Chorus]
What’s your line
(Is it about crime)
Or is your line
(Putting love above)
What remains
(When we’re out of time)
…what of the love?

[Outro]
In the end…
It’s what you choose…
(Win or lose)
… The End

Waiting

[Intro]
Hold your place…
(Saving face)
It’s coming…
(Keep humming)
Any moment now…
(Somehow…)

[Build]
Don’t move…
(’til you prove)
Don’t miss it…
(No, don’t quit)

[Chorus]
Waiting
(Waiting in line)
Waiting
(Biding my time)

…waiting for a sign

[Verse 1]
Time stretches thin between each beat
Shuffling forward, inch by feet
Every glance toward what’s ahead
Fills the space with what’s unsaid

What we hope is just in reach
Just beyond what we can see
Every second feels defined
By the act of staying in line

[Pre-Chorus]
If I move, I lose my place
If I stay, I stall the pace
Caught between the go and stay
Watching moments drift away

[Chorus]
Waiting
(Waiting in line)
Waiting
(Biding my time)
Holding on
(To something undefined)

Sing along to the song:
(…waiting for a sign)

[Verse 2]
Every face reflects the same
Different story, common frame
All aligned but far apart
Sharing space, not sharing start

What we wait for may not show
Still we stay, we never know
If the signal’s late or gone
Or we’ve been waiting all along

[Pre-Chorus]
Every doubt begins to grow
Every pause extends the flow
What we seek might never come
Still we stand where we begun

[Chorus]
Waiting
(Waiting in line)
Waiting
(Biding my time)
Looking out
(Shout!)
Shout it out
(Find something to define)
…waiting for a sign

[Bridge]
A sign may come
Or pass unseen
Between the now
And what has been

We stand and watch
We hesitate
Not knowing if
We’re early… or late…

[Build-Up]
(Waiting…)
(Waiting…)
(Still waiting…)

[Final Chorus]
Waiting
(No more in line)
Waiting
(Leaving this time)
Moving on
(Beyond the sign)
…no longer waiting in line

[Outro]
Maybe the sign…
(Will come in time)
This would sure be a fine time
… to shine

Between

[Intro]
It’s not what’s said…
(No, not what’s read)
It’s what’s left out…
(That makes you shout)

[Build]
Look closer…
Closer still…
(Then you will)

[Chorus]
The truth is not obvious to us
(Read between the lines)
When statement lacks facts
(Read between the lines)
What’s hidden in plain sight
(Read between the lines)
Is clearer in the gaps
(Read between the lines)

[Verse 1]
Words arranged to sound complete
Careful phrasing, smooth and neat
Every sentence feels aligned
But leaves the weight it won’t define

Half a truth can carry far
Dressed to be what we think we are
Fill the silence, shape the frame
Still avoid the core of claim

[Pre-Chorus]
What’s omitted, what’s implied
Sits just underneath the side
Every gap invites a guess
Every guess can misaddress

[Chorus]
The truth is not obvious to us
(Read between the lines)
When statement lacks facts
(Read between the lines)
What’s never said aloud
(Read between the lines)
Still echoes in the cracks
(Read between the lines)

[Verse 2]
Context fades when speed is key
Shortened forms of what we see
Clipped conclusions, rapid flow
Leave out what we need to know

Every claim can shift its ground
When no full picture can be found
Fragments build a fragile view
Strong enough to feel like truth

[Pre-Chorus]
Every pause can hold the weight
Of the parts we separate
What connects is rarely shown
Still it shapes what we’ve been told

[Chorus]
The truth is not obvious to us
(Read between the lines)
When statement lacks facts
(Read between the lines)
What we choose to trust
(Read between the lines)
Can blur or redefine
(Read between the lines)

[Bridge]
A line can lead
Or misdirect
A space can hide
Or reconnect

The truth may live
In what’s unseen
In quiet space
In the between

[Build-Up]
(Between…)
(Between…)
(Read between…)
(The obscene scene)

[Final Chorus]
The truth is not obvious to us
(Read between the lines)
When statement lacks facts
(Read between the lines)
Look past the frame
(Read between the lines)
Or lose the truth in time
(Read between the lines)

[Outro]
It’s always there…
(Though unaware)
In the space between…
(The scene seen)

Backline

[Intro]
Everything up front…
(To be blunt)
Depends on what’s behind…
(A constant remind)

[Build]
Hold it steady…
Let it breathe…

[Refrain]
Listen to the backline
(Keeping time)
Solid bass and drums
(To overlay my strums)
Feel it in the low end
(Right on cue)
Everything we play
(Runs through you)

[Verse 1]
Kick hits first, sets the pace
Snare snaps sharp in its place
Bassline moves like a spine
Holding up every line

You can hear the surface sound
But the roots are underground
What you feel before you know
Is the pulse that makes it go

[Pre-Chorus]
Every note I try to bring
Needs the weight of everything
Underneath the melody
Is the hidden symmetry

[Refrain]
Listen to the backline
(Keeping time)
Solid bass and drums
(To overlay my strums)
Lock it in, don’t decline
(Hold the groove)
Everything aligns
(When we move)

[Verse 2]
Finger on the string, foot on the beat
Every bar lands incomplete
Till the rhythm pulls it tight
Turns the dark into the light

Lead can wander, drift, explore
But the backline keeps the core
Even when the sound expands
It’s the groove that always stands

[Pre-Chorus]
Every break and every fill
Bends but never breaks the will
Time is something we define
Through the pulse of the backline

[Refrain]
Listen to the backline
(Keeping time)
Solid bass and drums
(To overlay my strums)
Deep inside the design
(Holds it true)
Everything we find
(Starts with you)

[Bridge]
No flash, no glare
Just weight in the air
No spotlight shown
But it holds the tone

Strip it down, you’ll see the spine
Everything rests on the line
Not the front, not the shine
It begins in the backline

[Build-Up]
(Backline…)
(Backline…)
(Hold the line…)

[Final Refrain]
Listen to the backline
(Keeping time)
Solid bass and drums
(To overlay my strums)
Lock it in, redefine
(Feel the groove)
Everything is mine
(When we move)

[Outro]
You don’t just hear it…
(You hope it never quits)
You can stand on it…
(Like a good habit)
A fine, fine, fine
(Backline)

Forgot

[Intro]
Wait… where was I…
(I can’t explain why)

[Verse 1]
Standing still, the moment’s live
All eyes waiting, cue’s please give
… the words just slipped away
Lost between what I would say

[Chorus]
Sorry, I forgot
(My line)
Hey… why not
(Add shine)
Just one time
(Why don’t you)
…give a cue?
Bring me back
(To the flow)
Let it click
(So I know)

[Verse 2]
[Expanded Arrangement, Subtle Synth Arp]
Maybe missing is the play
Leaves a space to find a way
Not every line has to land
Just enough to understand

Improvised between the beats
Where the stumble turns to meet
Something new, not quite designed
In the space of a lost line

[Pre-Chorus]
Every slip can realign
Every pause can redefine
What we thought we had to say
Finds another, different way

[Chorus]
Sorry, I forgot
(My line)
Hey… why not
(Add shine)
Just one time
(Why don’t you)
…give a cue?
Lost then found
(In the rhyme)
Turn it round
(Make it mine)

[Bridge]
A missing line
A silent space
A fleeting gap
You can’t replace

But in that break
A chance appears
To shift the flow
And face your fears

[Build-Up]
(Cue…)
(Will you…)
(Give a cue…)

[Final Chorus]
Sorry, I forgot
(No line)
Hey… why not
(New line)
Just this time
(I’ll break through)
…find my cue
Take the fall
(Then refine)
Lose it all
(Find the line)

[Outro]
Help me shine

Out Of

[Verse 1]
Every rule you tried to bend
Every edge without an end
What you push begins to show
In the places you don’t go

Standards shift when pressure’s on
Right gets blurred and then it’s gone
What you claim and what you do
Start to split and show the truth

[Chorus]
You are:
(Out of line!)
So far
(Out of line!)

…it’s a crime

[Verse 2]
[Expanded Arrangement, Darker Tone]
Limits drawn to keep control
Keep the balance, hold the role
But ignore them long enough
And the system comes apart

Every warning pushed aside
Turns the edge into a slide
What you thought you could contain
Breaks beyond what you can name

[Pre-Chorus]
Every line you override
Echoes back amplified
What you cross defines the climb
From a step out of your prime

[Chorus]
You are:
(Out of line!)
So far
(Out of line!)

…it’s a crime

Call it clear
(Out of line!)
Now defined
(Out of line!)
Loud and near
(Out of line!)
…draw the line

[Bridge]
A line is thin
But holds the weight
Of what we choose
To tolerate

Step too far
And it will show
In what we break
In what we know

[Build-Up]
(Out…)
(Of…)
(Line…)

[Final Chorus]
You are:
(Out of line!)
So far
(Out of line!)
Past the point
(Out of line!)
…it’s a crime

No retreat
(Out of line!)
No redesign
(Out of line!)
Face the line
(Out of line!)
…out of time

[Outro]
The line was there…
(Still unaware)
You crossed it…
(In a hissy fit)

By Bye

[Intro]
You don’t for how long…
(Until it’s gone…)

[Build]
Moment by moment…
(Minute by minute)
Slipping on…
(Then gone)_

[Chorus]
Line by line
(Going by)
Line by line
(Flying by)
Watch it fade
(Blink your eye)
Line by line
…bye-bye

[Verse 1]
Pages turn without a sound
Lost in what we think we’ve found
Every second quietly
Writes itself, then lets it be

What we hold begins to slip
Through the edges of our grip
Every plan we try to frame
Moves along without a name

[Pre-Chorus]
We keep counting, keep the score
Still it passes evermore
What we chase we can’t define
As it moves from line to line

[Chorus]
Line by line
(Going by)
Line by line
(Flying by)
Can’t rewind
(No reply)
Line by line
…bye-bye

[Verse 2]
Conversations left mid-thought
Moments fade before they’re caught
Every “later,” every “when”
Never quite returns again

Time doesn’t ask, it moves ahead
Through the things we’ve done and said
Every mark we try to keep
Softly drifts beyond the reach

[Pre-Chorus]
Every memory we store
Shifts a little more and more
What we thought would always stay
Finds its quiet, fading way

[Chorus]
Line by line
(Going by)
Line by line
(Flying by)
Hold it close
(Still it flies)
Line by line
…bye-bye

[Bridge]
A line is written
Then it’s gone
A fleeting trace
We travel on

We try to pause
We try to stay
But time just moves
Another way

[Build-Up]
(By…)
(By…)
(Bye…)

[Final Chorus]
Line by line
(Going by)
Line by line
(Flying by)
No design
(No deny)
Line by line
…bye-bye

[Outro]
It was here…
(Then… disappear)
Line by line…
(Gone in time)
Why
(Bye-bye)
