ABOUT THE SONG
This coversong was inspired by the rioting in Baltimore, MD. The people rising up against violence with violence seemed too ironic… too hypocritical. So, the rioters posing to be on TV made me think of this song (for they are The Beautiful People.)
Daniel — Vocals, Acoustic Guitar (Martin), Electric Guitar (Ibanez with floating tremolo), Organ, Keyboards and Synthesizers
LYRICS
We’re in step
To the promised land
In a marching band
A reggae… funky reggae marching band
Pick up a flute or pickup a lute
A mandolin or violin
Pick up whatever you can get into
We’re getting in step
Left right it’s alright
Left right left right
We left left right
Left left for right
We’re getting in step
With a reggae marching band
In step to thee promised land
If you want to joins hands
Hand in hand in step to the promised land
This marching reggae band
This reggae marching band
LYRICS
All this riotin’ and lootin’
Doin’ nothing but pollutin’
Your solution
Undermine your revolution
Son, had you begun in Ferguson?
Watch the gore for sure in Baltimore
You can’t hate hate unless you partake
You can’t take part with what’s at stake
When you behave all irate… at any rate
There’s a moral lack when you strike back
At others not involved in your attack
Doesn’t matter whether they’re a shade of grey, white or black
It’s just a matter of fact
That ain’t no way to act
Is it any wonder they wanna put you in a cage
The way you behave all in a rage
You’re more likely to engage as a sage
Put a The End to that book… and look to a blank page
All this riotin’ and lootin’
Doin’ nothing but pollutin’
Your solution
Undermine your revolution
Watch the gore for sure in Baltimore?
No more! No more!
LYRICS
If you think it’s a question of maybe
When it comes to killing a baby
Then it’s time to grasp reality
Put away the grenade
Into the light. Out of the shade.
If you think there’s nothing wrong
With dropping a wedding bomb
Peace will forever long
Military parade charade
Into the light. Out of the shade.
Lurking in the shadows
A wolf in our meadows
Dressed in sheep’s clothing
Nothin’ more worth loathing
Hatred fade! Into the light. Out of the shade.
A coversong inspired by “An earthquake with magnitude 7.8 occurred near Lamjung, Nepal at 06:11:26 UTC on Apr 25, 2015. (This event has been reviewed by a seismologist.)” A tribute to the victims.
Wikipedia –“Katmandu” is a song written and recorded by American rock artist Bob Seger.
Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal. In the ’60s, as many Americans were searching for enlightenment, the city was seen as a panacea for the ills of Western culture. A remote and exotic location, it was also seen as the ultimate getaway, which is how Seger used it in this song.
Bob Seger took a humorous tone, singing about his desire to disappear for a while after dealing with constant touring and record company politics. For him, Kathmandu is used to represent a place far away where no one will bother you.

I'm goin' to Katmandu
Get in to it
With intuition
Get in to it
With intuition
It’s kind-of like a premonition
With very little… maybe no…
Superstition
Get into it
Intuition
In the shell of a nut
You’ll feel it in your gut
There will be no if, and, or, but
You’ll feel it in your gut
Got to get into it
Intuition
(Keyboard Jam)
Intuition
When you get to know know you know the flow
You go, you go, you go
You within the flow
See the me inside of me
I get into it… in to intuition
It’s kind-of like a premonition
With very little superstition
From the gut
No if, and, or, but
LYRICS
A fight to the finish
In our fragile space capsule
A race to The End of the human race
Living to diminish
Our fragile space capsule
Modern Age rage flailing in disgrace
