LYRICS
There goes another instance
Of being a victim of circumstance

Whoever wrote Murphy’s Law
Charge ’em with greatest crime of all time
Whoever passed Murphy’s Law
Committed the greatest crime of them all

They have made it so it won’t be long
“Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong”
They’ve created the worst baggage
Perpetuating pessimism with an old adage

Halt! Holt did put it quite simply
“Sufficient stress can hardly be
… laid on the advantages of simplicity”
Decreasing dependence on being lucky

As the Boy Scouts declared —
Be prepared! Be prepared!
’cause they really didn’t lie
When they said, “Sooner of later… you’re gonna die”
But, in the meantime I’d rather choose
To hear some more of the good news
So until that day I’ll just pray
The old adage keeps at bay… ’till a ripe old age

Now, concerning this here song
About anything that can go wrong going wrong
Murphy’s Law must be more weak than strong
When applied to itself, it too goes wrong

LYRICS
If you want off to a good start
Get yourself a bright light-heart
Lighthearted

Easy way to help the human race
Putting a smile upon your face
Lighthearted

Lamenting gloom parted
Lighthearted started
Lighthearted

Please, before you are departed
Don’t let your love go uncharted
Lighthearted

LYRICS
What if we already are
On a deserted island
All ya can see
Is an enormous sea
Of ignoramus
Ohhh God bless
(What a mess)

Sound too bizarre
Really?
By how far
Do you understand
Will we be the sea I see?

Eventually,
Will it become of you and me
I mean… we
An inevitability
That me and you
Will be drowning, too

What if we really are
On a deserted island…

LYRICS
It’s awful hard not to regret
Being in the wrong place at the wrong time
But, please don’t forget
When you fall on your behind
You’ll find
Better off leaving the past behind

When it breaks ’cause it can’t bend
The fracture won’t likely mend
So, leave the fractured past
For the future… at long last

Better than if they said,
“You’re dead.”

When mean ole Grim comes coming after you
Who’s gonna be your brother’s keeper
After you’re the harvest of ole Mr. Reaper

What will become of your soul
Once your body’s not whole

He ain’t fickle with that sharp sickle
Like the slice of knife with his deadly scythe
Brings’ an end with no mend to your precious life
The End — when the flow won’t even trickle

LYRICS
Is it just pie in the sky
Or, have we come full circle?
Getting to the end proving to be hysterical?
Concerning circles, ellipses or spheres
Have no fears!
Irrational number
Representation never ends and never settles
Count to the end and never, ever slumber

The details are full of the devils
Figurin’ makes ya mental
The number’s irrational
Ain’t coincidental
Feels supernatural

Throw on an “I scream”
For Pi à la mode
Decimal reaching into dream
Sweet geometrical mother lode

Your body of work
Such a perfect figure
You’re…
Clarity through the murk

Like a Prince turning into a symbol
π providing answers quite ample
π the answer to why

The second verse is:

Yes I'm stuck in the middle with you
And I'm wondering what it is I should do
It's so hard to keep this smile from my face
Losing control, yeah, I'm all over the place
Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right
Here I am, Stuck in the middle with you.

Of our latest arms race
Russia, Iraq, Afghanistan
Not really sure which wars we’re in?
Ukraine, Syria, Iran…
You reign? Seriously, I ran

Where to begin….
Russia rushing in
For crying out loud
While all the while Putin actin’ proud
Crimea Annexation
Cry me a river (exasperation!)

Unbelievable human race
Gonna leave us without a trace
Spreading like Malaria in Nigeria

LYRICS
Claiming it’s a message sent from the Gods
Jets of flaming napalm globs
What are the odds
Of killing kids and creating angry mobs

Chorus
What we’re doing really does stink
I mean… come on… don’t ya really think?
I’m not good with a nod and a wink
And, when it comes to freedom — I won’t blink!

Dropping bombs and burning babies
Well, only if God’s from hell
War crimes? There’s no maybes
You’re killing kids and creating a nasty smell

Chorus

(Ya see, I take “Don’t Tread On Me” seriously)

ABOUT THE SONG
E7 Esus
D6 Esus
Esus E7

A song inspired by the anniversary of Operation Meetinghouse. On March 10, 1945, the USA bombed Tokyo:
“The bombs were mostly the 500-pound E-46 cluster bombs which released 38 napalm-carrying M-69 incendiary bomblets at an altitude of 2,000–2,500 ft. The M-69s punched through thin roofing material or landed on the ground; in either case they ignited 3–5 seconds later, throwing out a jet of flaming napalm globs.”
