ABOUT THE SONG
Wow! West Chester is absolutely packed for the Hands Off! protest. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this many protesters in Chester County — and this was before the rally was even scheduled to start. On my way in, I passed crowds of people still pouring in on foot from miles away.
The nationwide protests occurring today, April 5, 2025, are collectively known as the “Hands Off!” demonstrations. Organized by a coalition of over 150 advocacy groups, these protests are taking place across all 50 U.S. states, including major events in Washington, D.C., Boston, and Philadelphia. The demonstrations aim to oppose policies implemented by President Donald Trump and his adviser Elon Musk, particularly those involving significant cuts to federal agencies and public services. Protesters are voicing concerns over issues such as government downsizing, reductions in Social Security and Medicaid, and perceived threats to democratic institutions.
