Reach out to your inner voice
Exercise your reason of choice

The voices within are calling you, calling you
The voices within are whispering, whispering
The voices within are calling you, calling you
Let me out, let me out, let me out!

Join in with your part
Form a choir and start

Pusing Up Daisies .mp3 (free music downloads)

I was driving by Ryan Dunn’s final stop… when this song came to me:

Who woulda thunk

I’d find my glory

Pushin’ up day’s ease?

Dandelions and daffodils

The only things footin’ my bills

Jesus, I’m pushing up daisies

The life I drunk

Is my story

While in heaven

The task I’m given

Is pushing up daisies

Nope. I can’t be lazy

Too late to be crazy

So, won’t ya please

Bring me a daisy

I’ll push it up for you

Sprouting life into view

May I bring you a dream scene

You might have thought me dead

Instead… let it be said:

I’m just laying about these trees

Praying for yor’ day’s ease

ABOUT THE SONG
I’m happy to say, I got to know Ryan Dunn. This song came to me through the spirit that remains. Now, that Spring has come to the place where is life came to an end… the burn and scar are healing. And, it’s a funny thing about spring… how life sprouts up. So, while I was attempting to identify with the spirit… a humorous point-of-view came through… about how he lives on and hopes to push up some daisies for us. Ya, know? Have a holiday on him… a Spring Break… a few days ease 🙂

Written and recorded in West Chester Borough and West Goshen Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
Daniel — guitar, vocals, piano (with added whistling and tomfoolery by special request)
Blues variations.

LYRICS
Get on! Get on!
It’s time to get on with it
Come on. Get on.
Join the ride. Enjoy life a bit.

Come on and get a lift
Jump up and down like you’ll never quit
Roll down a hillside
Raise your arms like a roller coaster ride

Get on! Get on!
Lovin’ livin’ every minute
Come on. Get on.
Livin’ lovin’ every moment

ABOUT THE SONG

From the album The Beatless Sense Mongers 2012

I’ve known you a longtime
Until you call me, mine
I’ve known you a longtime
You’ve committed just about every crime

Now our co-sign is dying
No, no… you ain’t no friend of mine

You’ve done me wrong
I’m done singing that song
Ya know I prayed for the day
Now, I’m happy to say.
This is the day.
(Horray)

I’ve been putting
Putting in time
I’ve been trying
Trying!

On my spirit you love to dine
Making me wince… making me whine
Fo’ sure, ya know
Ya ain’t no friend of mine
Nooo, you ain’t no friend of mine

No, you ain’t no friend of mine

An original song by The Beatless Sense Mongers

Independence Hall, Philadelphia, PA

The concept of freedom
Is hard to grasp
If you’re not free
(And, never have been)
It stands to reason

Hitting home at last
… once through the gate
Pouring from every pore
(For evermore)
You’re free
(Happy to be)
Wealthy in liberty
(Free!)
You’re able to be

Having been a victory virgin
Never before across the finish line
The feeling sinks in
“Freedom is mine!”

I have to tell ya
The taste is sweet
… like no other treat
A desert from the dessert
I’m not talkin’ ’bout democracy
Rather the absence of hypocrisy
From see to smiling see

Happy to be

As you sit and stare
About yourself

From them bones
Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust
Gonna rise up

2. Looky Lookie Lookey
Lookie there
As you go about
Seeking your wealth

ABOUT THE SONG
The song was written and recorded on Independence Mall, Philadelphia and West Chester, Pennsylvania. The words came about due to the fact that I was sitting on top of their bones looking for inspiration. Oh, yeah… and, it has to do with The Book Of Daniel “Many of those whose bodies are dead and buried will rise up….” Zombies, dude… for real.

It’s a great day in America
Yet, another great day in America
Not like flecks of mica
No, not fool’s gold

You can be anything you want
Before growing old
In America

You can be the President
Of the United States
Or fly a ship
To the moon
Or, be a philanthropist
Of conscious states

Jump, skip or flip

The pursuit of happiness
Is none too soon…

Christmas In Love Park, Philadelphia, PA

I went to the City of Brotherly Love,
And, asked ’em,
“How do you spell love?”

They replied,
L. Ooooo V E,
With a lopsided Oh.

I went to God Almighty Above,
And, asked her,
“If you were to conjure up a spell,
well… what would it be?”
She replied with an angel’s sigh,
“The spell is love.”

Please sing it with me,
“Love spell,
L. Ooooo V. E.,
With a lopsided Oh.”

Beats the devil outta hell,
L.O.V.E. spell

All yell,
“Love spell,
L. Ooooo V. E.,
With a lopsided Oh.”

LYRICS

Dave,
Please save the day.
Hey!

Can you teach us to play?
Can you meet us half way?
Can you reach us… all the way?

“It comes from here.” (point to your heart)
It comes from hear. (point to your mind)

Dave,
Please save the day.
Hey!

Will you help us today?
Will you lead the way…
Show us how to plaaaaaay.
How to play a show…
The spirit in music you know.

No fool fighters
Dave Grohl sighters

DAVE GROHL’S ACCEPTANCE SPEECH
Accepting the award, Grohl said, “To me, this award means a lot because it shows the human element of music is what’s important. Singing into a microphone and learning to play an instrument and learning to do your craft, that’s the most important thing for people to do…It’s not about being perfect, it’s not about sounding absolutely correct, it’s not about what goes on in a computer. It’s about what goes on in here [your heart] and what goes on in here [your head].”

Later, Dave went on to say, “To me the biggest advantage of going analog is the restrictions that it implies, which gets you to perform in a way that you’re actually being a human being. We thought about heart and performance. And I would rather people not tune their vocals, I would rather people not grid their drums.”

Walking down and I witnessed a crime,
It happens all the time,
Whether you’re an authority,
Or, just some guy parking… like me.

Greed,
You wanna beat me?
I’m not your wife,
Get out of my life.

Making all that bad juju voodoo,
That you do.

Try taking the car out of park,
Not random vandalism,
On the lark.

PART II

George Smith,
George Smith,
The towing that’s owing,
George Smith

Dear George Smith,

Pursuant to your towing,
We find you to be owing,
For crimes against civility.

See, your boy,
Did crushed our joy,
As we were trying to have fun with Fun.

Then, on my way to find New Found Glory,
Your boy got in the way…
Ruined the day…
Ruined liberty’s story.

He threatened us once,
He threatened us twice,
He terrorized men into mice.

Is this your car?
I’m going to lick you,
Puss e!

I’m going to tow this car far.
Er, a… I would if I knew how to tow a car,
But so far,
No.

No know,
I ain’t been edjewmacated on the crimes I commit… throw a fit,
Shall I call the cops?

Please do,
Hang on,
I’ll get them for you.

No need to make threats on whose asses are moped… rather know good comes out on top.

You don’t need to,
Share the wealth,
Just as you can’t,
Share good health.

But, you can,
Share your love,
Spread it thick,
Or, spread it thin.

The dead,
Or quick?

Rise above,
Evil kin,
Dance and move,
While you’ve the skin.
Rise above,
The lowly sin,
Flying high,
Again.

Lord, despite my moans,
Thanks for these bones.
These bones gonna rise again.
Lord, despite my wine-in’,
Thanks for this skin.
From a puddle of mud,
My blood,
And, I thank you so.
So, here I go,
Spreading it thick,
While of the quick.

I’ll be your blood vessel… flesh castle,
A Holy Grail set for sail,
Flesh castle,
Blood vessel.

I’m at home.

My body — soul’s house,

No, never alone… in the house of God.

God is good,
God is great,
So, I thank Her….

As part of Her,
Wildlife.

Wild life,
Jig and sing,
Constant fling thing.

“You don’t like the tornadoes?
Stop stirring things up down there,”
God said.

Instead in the stable,
Jig and sing,
Wildlife.

“The loose on the loose,
Ramparts running rampant,”
says Mother Goose.

Mother Nature blows in the wind,
“Naturally, the nature to nurture,
could be nurtured. What a rapture!”

Love life,

The *please do not refrain from the refrain* refrain:
I’m just a church mouse in God’s house.
Wildlife,
Wild life.

Are we living,
Living in a place,
Where humans,
Aren’t humane,
Where the beings,
Aren’t being,
Very sane?

Oh, no,
A hobo,
Hobo jungle,
My fellow man,
Is more savage,
Than human.

Oh, no,
Hobo,
Woah,
Hobo,
Jungle,
Hobo jungle

The city isn’t savage,
It’s our age,
All over the land,
Can’t understand,
Why the rednecks,
Wreak havoc,
Bully the brains.

Why the fast paced,
Ran, run, raced,
Trampled my face….

Can’t we be the kind,
That can be kind,
No need to remind,
To mind….

Mind my business,
Build a fortress,
Rain distress,
Reign distress,
No, not my mess.

No, I won’t go,
So, far….
As to call it,
A hobo jungle…
More of a bungled,
Humanity.

Are we the animals,
Damning all,
To a hobo jungle,
Just a little respect,
Will fetch,
A civil twilight,
As our day,
Fades to night.

Just a little appreciation,
For the federation,
Of humankind,
Leaving the least,
In the lead,
And, the first,
Behind.
