[Silence]
[Instrumental: acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, sub-bass, organ, percussion, drums]
[Intro]
Had a dream when I was young
Make some music, write some songs
Take a rhythm, make it new
Find a way to share with you!
[Verse 1]
All these years I’ve followed sound
Found a groove and spun it round
Tried a little, learned a lot
Made music with the things I’ve got
[Refrain]
All along
(I’ve had lifelong ambition)
Dance and song
(Create a new rendition)
At every chance
(Song and dance)
Given a choice
(Raising a voice)
A new rendition…
(Of lifelong ambition)
[Verse 2]
From the first notes to today
Never ran out of things to play
Different sounds and different styles
Keep me going for a thousand miles
[Refrain]
All along
(I’ve had lifelong ambition)
Dance and song
(Create a new rendition)
At every chance
(Song and dance)
Given a choice
(Raising a voice)
A new rendition…
(Of lifelong ambition)
[Bridge]
Not for fame
(Not for fortune)
Not for gold
(… and you’ll never grow old)
Just the beat
(Under my feet)
Just the song
(Coming along)
If I can make you move
(Find a little groove)
If I can make you smile
(It’s been worthwhile!)
Dance! (Dance!)
Sing! (Sing!)
Make a little something
Out of anything!
Here’s the thing…
(Give the old a brand-new swing!)
[Final Refrain]
All along
(I’ve had lifelong ambition)
Dance and song
(Create a new rendition)
At every chance
(Song and dance)
Given a choice
(Raising a voice)
A new rendition…
(Of lifelong ambition)
All along
(Still creating)
Dance and song
(n’ innovating)
At every chance
(Let the music play)
Given a choice
(I’m here to say)
A new rendition…
(Of lifelong ambition!)
[Outro]
Dance and song
(Coming along)
Raise your voice
(Make some noise!)
One more rhyme
(One more time)
A new rendition…
(Of lifelong ambition!)
All along…
(Dance and song!)
