[Silence]
[Instrumental: Hohner Clavinet, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, sub-bass, organ, percussion, drums]
[Intro]
One step…
(Then another)
Up we go
(Discover there’s other)
Higher now
(Feel the air)
The show of how
(Up a stair!)
[Verse 1]
There’s a world beyond the doorway
There’s a view beyond the wall
Leave the weight you carried yesterday
Let the old perspective fall
There’s more to see today
When you rise above it all
[Refrain]
Climbing up the stairs
(To share from up there)
Going up?
(To the top)
Don’t wanna stop
(From above…)
(Take in the love)
And set some free
(From within me)
… may it shine down on you…
(Too)
[Verse 2]
From above, the view is changing
All the pieces start to fit
Things that once seemed so confusing
Find a place that makes them click
[Refrain]
Climbing up the stairs
(To share from up there)
Going up?
(To the top)
Don’t wanna stop
(From above…)
(Take in the love)
And set some free
(From within me)
Then, I shout:
(Let it out!)
So it may shine down on you
(Shining down… to enlighten your view)
[Bridge]
Shout:
(Let it out!)
So it may shine upon…
(Shining down… to enlighten our view)
Take a little love
(Leave a little light)
Bring it down the stairs
(Help somebody rise!)
And when you reach the top
(What will you do?)
Open up your arms
(And share the view!)
[Instrumental]
Going up!
(Shining down!)
Don’t stop now!
(Show us how!)
Feel the love
(From above)
Set it free
(Totally!)
[Final Refrain]
Climbing up the stairs
(To share from up there)
Going up?
(To the top)
Don’t wanna stop
(From above…)
(Take in the love)
And set some free
(From within me)
Climbing up the stairs
(There’s more to share)
Going up?
(Reach the sky)
Open your heart
(And let it fly)
Take in the love
(From above)
And set some free
(From within me!)
Shout:
(Let it out!)
So it may shine through…
(Shining down… to enlighten the view)
Shine, shine, shine
[Outro]
One more stair…
(There’s love up there)
One more view…
(To share with you)
Upstairs…
(Upstairs…)
And set some free…
(… with me)
Shine, shine, shine
(Shine, shine, shine)
