[Silence]
[Instrumental, Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Organ, Synth, Bass, Percussion, Drums]
[Intro]
Blowin’ smoke, to make a screen
A polished story, a crooked scene
Who’s telling truth? Who’s telling tales?
When justice knocks, who tips the scales?
[Verse 1]
A lie can dress itself in gold
A half-truth bought, a story sold
Slap on spin, a thinly veiled disguise
A thousand ways to fool the eyes
But facts don’t care who tells the tale
The truth can stand when stories fail
You can twist the words, rewrite the past
But sooner or later, the truth holds fast
[Refrain]
What lies in the truth is…
(Justice)
What lies in the lies…
(Lies!)
The scales will balance
(Determine truth and deliver fairness)
At it’s best…
(Justice is blind, not heartless)
Dare you to confess
(The blindfolded lady….)
Looking out for the shady
[Verse 2]
The scales don’t measure wealth or fame
They don’t bend for a family name
No special pass, no private deal
No manufactured way to make it real
[Refrain]
What lies in the truth is…
(Justice)
What lies in the lies…
(Lies!)
The scales will balance
(Determine truth and deliver fairness)
At it’s best…
(Justice is blind, not heartless)
Dare you to confess
(The blindfolded lady….)
Looking out for the shady
[Bridge]
Who benefits?
(Follow the money!)
Who pays the price?
(Not very funny!)
Where’s the proof?
(Show the facts!)
Who’s accountable?
(For their acts!)
No more hiding
(No more games!)
No more blaming
(Other names!)
The truth may sting
(The truth may hurt)
But lies will bury
(You in the dirt!)
[Refrain]
What lies in the truth is…
(Justice)
What lies in the lies…
(Lies!)
The scales will balance
(Determine truth and deliver fairness)
At it’s best…
(Justice is blind, not heartless)
Dare you to confess
(The blindfolded lady….)
Looking out for the shady
[Outro]
Blindfolded…
(Not blind to being kind!)
Balanced…
(Not bought with wrought!)
Justice…
(Not a game!)
Truth…
(Without a name!)
What lies in the lies?
(Lies!)
What lies in the truth?
(Justice!)
Looking out for the shady…
(The lady’s got her eye on you!)
[Final Hit]
[Silence]
