Black Magic.mp3

LYRICS
That would be tragic
If you fell victim to black magic

“From there I shall come to judge the quick…
And, the dead.”

Lively up yourself
Don’t be no dread

That would be tragic
If you fell victim to black magic

For you mental health
Don’t cast a spell on yourself

That would be tragic
If you fell victim to black magic

You are my sunshine
The only sunshine
Bring love and feeling fine

That would be tragic
If you fell victim to black magic

Abracadabra the white magic
Cure the ill… heal the sick

LYRICS
Did you know
God’s all around
Did you know
God’s easily found
Did you know
God does abound

Right before your eyes
You can come to realize
God’s all around

God can be found all around
Did you know
Are you aware
God is everywhere
Did you want to feel an inner peace
An outer peace
Do you want to share everything
Less the dread
(God’s not dead!)

God’s all around
Wanting to be found

Don’t ever let it be said
That you went to bed
Without giving the proper kudos
About the Good News

If you want to see
If you want to be

She’ll be with me
She’ll be with you, too
’cause She’s in plain view
She doesn’t want to hide
She doesn’t want anywhere near the darkside

God’s everywhere
If you declare
God will be there
If you justify
If you testify
I saw Her with my eye

God is here
God is now
No need for “somehow”

LYRICS
If you are living in fear
Thinking the end is near
Let it be forgot
’cause it’s not
But, can’t you see the tragedy
Living in slow, lingering misery

There could come the day when you pray
The End is near
But, for now there’s nothing to fear

So, if we can steer clear
We can see through tragedy
We’ve got to see it
We’ve got to do it
Follow through
Me and you… let’s do!

We can make every day a little brighter
We can make love a little tighter
We can do it if we choose
I don’t think anyone would rather lose?

LYRICS
When you lookout, lookout, lookout
From behind your eyes
Is it any… surprise?!?!

Got to get up, get up, get up
And, rise

When you stand up, stand up, stand up
For what you believe
You will bring… relief
Surmise — rise!

Got to get up, get up, get up
And, rise

When you speak out, speak out, speak out
About injustice
You raise consciousness
A prize for those that rise

Got to get up, get up, get up
And, rise

bookmark_borderOwn Worst Enemy

A song inspired by a friend’s Facebook post:

So, 88-98% of corn, cotton (cotton oil–as in what a lot of potato chips are cooked in), canola oil, and soybean crops grown are genetically engineered. About 80% of the crops are to feed livestock. So what evolution has taken 3 billion years to create, humankind can destroy in 40 years. Maybe that’s the plan, to kill off our own kind to revert back to the beginning, with a little plastic and holes in the ozone as a special bonus. Kudos, Homo sapiens. We’ve really “outdone” ourselves.

LYRICS
What is it that I walk upon?
I wish we had the insight to look on and on and on
And, we found the ground
Underneath our feet
Are we going to be our own defeat?

What is that that I breath
Has the air gone up in thin air
Is there something more than just our air in there
What is it we breath
Are we our own disease?

Will we beat
Into defeat
Will we beat
Our own defeat

What is that in our food
Is it any good
What we eat
Are we our own defeat?

I don’t think we can cheat Mother Nature
It’s us we beat into defeat

We’re going to beat ourselves into defeat
And, I would say it’s time to change the seat
This game of musical chairs is going nowhere
I don’t want to be the last one standing
It won’t be any fun if I’m the only one that does remain
It might even drive you insane

(Free MP3 Freedom Music Download)

LYRICS
Why do you want to take away my rights
I swear it’s not right
Take away my freedom
Are you dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb?

When you talk about talking about
Talk, talk, talk, talk
About taking away my rights
Why don’t you take away your First, first
You don’t deserve freedom of speech
In fact, it’s a breach
Of humanity
You can blame the insanity
On society
But, that doesn’t make sense
To take away my rights
My freedom
Are you dumb, dumb, da da de dumb, dumb?

Leave my freedom alone
Don’t tread on me
Oh, can’t you see
This is the home
The home of the free and the brave
So, please save
Our freedom

Please don’t be dumb with our freedom
Why would you want to give mine away
Come on
All you talk and say about my rights
Just ain’t right
Don’t take my freedom away
Not today
Not any day

Are you dumb, da da de, dumb, dumb

Home come
You want to mess with freedom
When you take freedom away
That’s not O.K.

Why would you want to take away freedom
Are you dumb, da da de de da dumb?

Please, “Save our freedom! Don’t be dumb!”

“If we focus on getting ‘guns out of the hands of the criminally insane’ instead of focusing on ‘why are people behaving with this insanity’, we won’t solve the problem.”

A song inspired by the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings and the 22 children slashed with a knife in the Chinese school stabbings.

Insanity (and the Criminally Insane).mp3

LYRICS
What do you blame this insanity on?
Society
Society insanity
Don’t blame it on the gun
That’s not how this society will run
Don’t blame it on the murder weapon

If someone is criminally insane
If their brain can not refrain
From the criminal thought…
It comes to be an obsessive compulsive behavior
Then for sure…
Insanity

It’s too aplenty in my humble opinion
It’s society’s sin

Um…
Don’t treat the symptom
We need to find a cure
That’s for sure
We need a cure

Despite their doom and fear
Happy New Year
Happy New Year!

Though the Mayan calender may end
Even after, you’ll be my friend

In case, I’m not clear
To all those I hold dear
Happy New Year
Happy New Year!

Now raise your glass… a toast!
To the time of year we love most
Yes, raise your mug of beer

LYRICS
Are you feeling Christmasy?
Are you feeling Christmasy
Like me
Are you, too

Although
You know
There’s no snow
And, the mailman
Doesn’t come anymore
With Christmas cards to your door
But, there’s still plenty of parties
And, there’s still plenty of cheer
You’ve got to love the Christmas time of year

Are you feeling Christmasy?
Are you feeling Christmasy
Like me… are you?

Sure Christmas has it’s ho, ho, ho
But, reggae has Christmas ya know?!?!
We go hey, hey, hey!
Ho, ho, ho
Hey, hey, hey

Are you feeling Christmasy
Every time of year when Christmas is near

Now, a new life can begin
The sun is shining in
The smile is twice as wide
On the inside

As the sun sets on society
We question
“Hey, didn’t we have plenty?”
Why the suffering
On the outside
There’s no place to run
There’s no placed to hide
On the outside

The sun is shining in

LYRICS
The last time I was in heaven
God asked, “Do you want to do it again?”
I said, “Yes, please. Human!”

If I can do it again
You bet. You’re in.
Do it again
Human

I thank you kindly
For giving me the opportunity
To be all I can be as me

If I happen to have the chance
To catch the final dance

I’m eternally grateful
For this opportunity
To be part of humanity
And, to try to make it humane — Humane humanity
It could be quite sane
Sanity
Humane humanity

This is really being born again
Oh, thank you, Lord
Under the finest star
Your sun
I thank you, oh, Lord
Getting to experience time one more time

The last stage coach out of here
Into the setting sun
To the home that’s dear
I can feel it near

Thank you, Lord
I can see
Being a human being
Then, I can mean
Without being mean
Mean without mean

We can let go
We can come to know
Our collective knowledge
Is the rhythm of our souls

It’s the rhythm of our souls

Please, yes, please
Again as human!

LYRICS
What are you doing today?
Do you have anything better than to play
And, Jah the day away

What are you doing today?
What are you doing with your life
If you want to come this way… there’s less strife
We can do some things
We can make a song everybody sings
We can Jah the day away

What do you say?

If you’ve got something better to do
Like pay your past due
Well, if it’s past due
I suggest you do
Take care of that first
Then, quench your thirst
We can celebrate with a little champagne
A little bubbly-wubbly
Would be due to you when you pay your due
Then, you can come back through
And, Jah the day away

We can Jah the day away
We can love and pray
We can Jah the day away

Which came first
God or the image?
(Can you imagine?)

If you can just let yourself be
You can be me
As me as me as you are you
You can be God, too

Which came first
God or God’s image?

Some matter
Some mud
Toss about and becomes a man
Then, comes to realize
There’s more to me than I am
At least there can be more to me
Than I am

ABOUT THE SONG
Chords — F C

Written and recorded on December 10, 2012 in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Genesis 1:25-27
New International Version (NIV)

25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

27 So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
