LYRICS
Sexual intercourse of course
Always done sideways
In the earliest of days
Square-dance style
All the while

Go for a fling and swing….

Swing your partner round and round
Until the genitalia are found
Cheese grater grip on your appendage
May require a bandage

So, listen…
Three hundred and eighty million years ago
They didn’t know
About the creation of the missionary position
There was a trick to guide the slide
Then, giddy-up for the ride

144 Beats Per Minute / Country

Inspired by this news story:

First act of sexual intercourse ‘was done sideways, square-dance style’

Fossilised features of antiarch fish suggest that early intercourse was not the smoothest of affairs, with males faced with the task of steering their bony L-shaped organs between twin genital plates that adorned the females like tiny cheese graters.

The male’s organ was nearly as long as his body and fixed rigid, leading paleontologists to finally work out that the creature’s small, jointed arm-like appendages were probably of help in achieving the correct position.“Fundamentally, they could not have done it in the missionary position,” said John Long, professor of palaeontology at Flinders University in Adelaide. “The very first act of copulation was done sideways, square-dance style.”

Written and recorded West Chester, Chester County, Pennsylvania, USA.

LYRICS
It’s not the size that matters
Which weighs (ways) more
… a pound of bricks or feathers
It’s not the gift but the thought that counts
Enjoy the thrift as the cost mounts

Waste not want not before it’s bought
Live in peace… no gore
From battles fought
It’s not the gift but the thought that counts
Enjoy the thrift as the cost mounts

It’s not hat size that matters
When all thoughts
… rip, torn… left in tatters
It’s not the gift but the thought that counts
Enjoy the thrift as the cost mounts

Your best is best regardless of the rest
When you give your all
We’re less likely to fall
It’s not the gift but the thought that counts
Enjoy the thrift as the cost mounts

Inspired by the ice bucket challenge. When a friend challenged me to the “ice bucket challenge”, I had mixed feelings. Initially, I was against the way this marketing ploy unfolded. On the other hand, my cousin died shortly after being diagnosed with ALS. Awareness is something I can support. So, I started thinking, “it’s the thought that counts… size doesn’t matter.” Then, I found the smallest bucket I could find, filled it with a cup of water and an ice cube.

LYRICS
Drop the ball. Drop the cup.
It’s the little things that really add up
When you get down to it
Intuit(ion) habit habitat
Once you’re on the ball
It’ll be no mystery at all

At the drop of a hat
If a fat cat sat
Don’t let it hurt a bit
Intuit(ion) habit habitat
Once you are on call
… no quagmire at all

LYRICS
Do you wonder if it’s too late now
Are you gonna save us somehow
… anyhow… somehow… anyway
Please say you’ll save the day
“Children go on… it’s safe to play”?

Did I miss the final curtain call
Is it over in the all-in-all
Please say we’ll have our say
Tomorrow will follow today

Do you wonder is there time to wonder
Did we stray too far off when we wander
Please shout out, “Hey, hey, hey!”
We’ll all live to see the day

Spiraling round n’ round

LYRICS
With my eyes open
I dream a scene
A reaching arm
Just under the surface

Now you are coping
With the real mean
A soul alarm
Craving for your face

Instead of a fix…
… you’re drowning in the river Styx

Swirling your head
In a cesspool of dead

Can’t shout “reach out!”

LYRICS
I’m wondering (I wonder) how hard
Is the cement really that thick?
I wonder (I’m wondering) how hard
If I’m going to dive through…
… is there a trick

Chorus
A circle of angels singing ’round your head
When the jumper jumps, he makes his own bed
You know it’s really, really gonna smart
Right before you start to stop your heart

Should I go head first
To minimize the pain
Should I go feet first
With or agin’ the grain?

Chorus

Feeling like a black cloud is hovering?
Well if it keeps on raining….

It’s raining. It’s pouring. Hit his head… now, he’s dead.
Couldn’t get up in the mourning.

The rain spills upon the hill
Runnin’ down, down, down
Runnin’ still… runnin’ ’till fill
Wash the black cloud frown
Away

Flashflood
The day you wash away
Flesh n’ blood
The day you wash away

Gonna fill
To the high water mark
Run until

What was the reason for the breakdown in reason
Was it the season
The super full moon
Crack the loon?

What was the reason for the breakdown in reason
Was it a lesion
Lack of medication
Too much meditation

Om, um, I’m
Heaven

As a matter of fact
The fact of the grey matter doesn’t matter
… what does matter
Is to realize — it’s all the I’s
Me and you, too

My thoughts have been on paying him respect.
Was it correct…
The thing society did neglect
Respect
Might not have been given to him… in hindsight.
Might, right?
… and he deserved some… deserved sum
