About the Song

Couldn’t help but think of Supertramp’s “Crisis? What Crisis?” album cover:
Maximilien Lamy’s powerful photograph capturing a couple relaxing on a beach against a backdrop of apocalyptic wildfire smoke has quickly become a defining global image of the climate crisis. Taken on July 24, 2026, at Moutchic beach near Lacanau in southwestern France, the photo perfectly encapsulates the jarring contrast of modern climate apathy. It features prominently on the front pages of major global newspapers, including The Times, The Guardian, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times.

About the Song
This song was inspired by an intense encounter between a red squirrel and a mockingbird. Nearly 25 feet above the ground, they raced around the side of a large tree at astonishing speed, creating a scene that was both mesmerizing and intimidating to watch.

At seemingly random moments, the squirrel would freeze, clinging upside down to the bark high above the my head. The mockingbird would perch nearby, patiently waiting for the slightest movement. The instant the squirrel twitched, all hell would break loose. Around and around the tree they went—then another sudden freeze. Repeat.

As a bystander, it felt inevitable that one of them was eventually going to come flying straight into the audience. Fortunately, they never did. Instead, they demonstrated a remarkable blend of speed, timing, patience, and instinct—a natural dance of pursuit and evasion that was as fascinating as it was exhilarating.

[Intro]
[Instrumental Intro: Steady Piano Chords, Driving Bass, Hammond Organ, Clean Guitar Picking, Building Drums]
[Minimal Beat, Sub Bass, Spoken Vocal]
When the ground…

begins to shift…

(The sound’s not found)

Standing still…

becomes a choice.

(Freewill)

[Refrain]
Do you find it hard to remain
(Gettin’ tougher to sustain)
It’s time for a…
(Change in position)

A formula…
(For the solution)

[Verse 1]
Holding tight to yesterday
Won’t always light tomorrow’s way
The map evolves, the landscape bends
The beginning finds new ends

[Pre-Chorus]
Shift your view
(Change your stance)
Take the moment
(Take the chance)

[Chorus]
Move with purpose
(Not with fear)
See tomorrow
(Coming near)

A different angle
(A clearer sight)
Turning questions
(Into light)

It’s time for a…
(Change in position)

[Refrain]
Do you find it hard to remain
(Gettin’ tougher to sustain)
It’s time for a…
(Change in position)

A formula…
(For the solution)

[Instrumental]

[Guitar Solo]
[Driving Bass, Organ Swells, Synth Textures, Dynamic Drum Groove]
[Verse 2]
When new evidence arrives
Understanding comes alive
Changing minds is how we grow
Following where the signals go

[Bridge]
A formula is more than numbers
It’s the pattern underneath
Observation, thought, and testing
Building confidence beneath

Take one step
(Then one more)
Open up
(Another door)

[Breakdown]
[Minimal Beat, Deep Sub Bass, Spoken Vocal]
Changing…

your position…

… may be the solution.

It’s progress…

guided…

by comprehension.

[Final Chorus]
Do you find it hard to remain
(Gettin’ tougher to sustain)
It’s time for a…
(Change in position)

A formula…
(For the solution)

Move ahead
(Don’t stand still)
Shape tomorrow
(With thought and will)

Change your view
(Change your mind)
Leave old limits
(Far behind)

[Refrain]
Do you find it hard to remain
(Gettin’ tougher to sustain)
It’s time for a…
(Change in position)

A formula…
(For the solution)

[Outro]
[Instrumental Outro: Echo Guitar, Piano, Organ Fade, Warm Synth Pads]
Yep, one new step…

One new direction…

One new position…

One better solution.

[Intro]
[Instrumental Intro: Crunchy Guitar Riff, Driving Bass, Hammond Organ, Heavy Drums, Rising Synth Noise]

Maybe this time’s…

close enough…

(Not exactly)

But close…
To where the music begins.

(Again)

[Refrain]
It’s close enough
(For Rock ‘N Roll)
When the going gets tough
(Time to play in the rough)

[Verse 1]
No perfect note, no perfect sound
Just turn it up and shake the ground
A little dirt beneath the tone
A little fire of your own

[Pre-Chorus]
Turn it up
(Let it flow)
Feel the rhythm
(Let it go)

[Chorus]
Close enough
(Is where we start)
Rough around
(The edge of art)

Mistakes become
(A brand-new sound)
When the volume rises
(Shake the ground)

It’s close enough
(For Rock ‘N Roll)

[Refrain]
It’s close enough
(For Rock ‘N Roll)
When the going gets tough
(Time to play a ‘lil rough)

[Instrumental]
[Guitar Solo]
[Heavy Bass Groove, Organ Swells, Explosive Drums, Feedback Guitar]

[Verse 2]
The road gets long, the nights get loud
Sometimes you lose yourself in the crowd
But when you put up a fight
Turns to a song beneath the light

[Pre-Chorus]
Push ahead
(Through the noise)
Find the spark
(Find your voice)

[Bridge]
Precision has its place in line
But rock was born from crossing signs
A little wild, a little free
A little bit of you and me

When the world says
(Stand aside)
Turn the amp up
(Enjoy the ride)

[Refrain]
It’s close enough
(For Rock ‘N Roll)
When the going gets tough
(Time to play in the rough)

[Breakdown]
[Minimal Beat, Deep Bass, Spoken Vocal]
Close enough…

isn’t giving up.

It’s knowing…

when the moment…

has arrived…

(To feel alive!)

[Final Chorus]
It’s close enough
(For Rock ‘N Roll)
When the going gets tough
(Time to say we’ve had enough)

Raise your voice
(Let it roll)
Feel the thunder
(Feel the soul)

It’s close enough…

For Rock ‘N Roll.

[Refrain]
It’s close enough
(For Rock ‘N Roll)
When the going gets tough
(Time to call their bluff)

[Outro]
[Instrumental Outro: Screaming Guitar, Hammond Organ, Bass Rumble, Drums Fade Into Feedback]
Turn it up…

Let it roll…

Close enough…

For Rock ‘N Roll.
(Roll, baby, roll)
