Am G Am G Am
Little by little the night turns around,

Counting the leaves which tremble at dawn

Dm C Dm C Dm
Lotus's lean on each other in yearning,

Am G Am
Over the hills a swallow is resting

Am G Am G Am
Over the mountains watching the watcher,

                      G Am G Am
Breaking the darkness waking the grapevine

Knowledge of love is knowledge of shadow,

Am G Am
Love is the shadow that ripens the wine

G Am F Am F Am

The heart of the sun, The heart of the sun...

Am G Am G Am
Witness the man who waves at the wall,

                        G Am G Am
Making the shape of his questions to heaven

LYRICS
If you grab the tail of an alligator
Better be prepared to say, “See ya later!”
Before it’s too late… you’d better evacuate
Before you bake fate… no need to speculate
At the core, your spirit elevate

If you grab the tail of a rattlesnake
Better be prepared that’s all you can take
Before it’s too late, you’d better forsake
Before you bake fate, open your eyes — awake!
Love and honest faith you can’t fake

Chorus
Hey! I just wanted to say
It’s a perfect day

As you hurry along your way
Can you pause long enough to play
As you scramble through the day
Can you cause long enough to stay

Chorus

As you scurry along your way
Did you does serve to purvey
As you ramble… talking away
Will your good deeds far outweigh

Chorus

As you worry about your pay
Does the stress cause decay
As you gamble action replay
Will your soul wilt, wither… fray

Hey! I just wanted to say
Hope you enjoy every single day

LYRICS
I could drone on and on and on and on
About civilians prone to the attack of the drone
Like a new born baby, I could cry and wail
About the plight of the killed killer whale

State sanctioned execution
Coal Age pollution electrocution
Currency manipulation devaluation

I could moan on and on and on and on
About civilians prone to the burden of the government loan
Like a scene from a nightmare dream, I could scream
About humans being so #%& damn mean

LYRICS
I’m not looking for you to spare a dime
I’m not looking for any of your time
I’m just asking you do the asking of you

At the end of it all
Can you stand tall?
Will you stand at all… or will you fall?
Yell! Heaven or hell (Hell no!)

Do you offer shelter from the howling wind
Do you offer refuge? It’s time to begin
Implications are huge… not only for you, but me, too

Chorus

ABOUT THIS SONG
While I was trying to record video for how to play the guitar part, the wind was blowing. Since I didn’t yet have a title for the song, I called it what I was trying to do — block the wind. Then, a guy came buy and threw me a dime. The lyrics developed from there.

LYRICS
What do you know that is good?
What are you going to do for food
In your neighborhood?

What is good that you know?
When it comes to knowledge
Where you gonna go?

Who’s your friend? Who’s your foe?
Who is driving the wedge
Between yes and no?

What is good that you know?
Gonna live by the sword…
Die by the plow?

Writing a Monsanto Protest Song in West Chester, PA

ABOUT THIS SONG
At one of my usual haunts for writing music, I had begun a songwriting session… when, a group of people started gathering around me. It appeared as though my “office” had become the site of a Monsanto protest.

So, I figured I’d write this song about it; however, I didn’t have a title. As I went to record the a video of the music, an alarm went off. It seemed to fit. Thus, the name of the song.

LYRICS

PART I
Mama had a baby and it’s head popped off
Unless there’s less stress
For sure, the pressure will kill
Until,
There’s less stress

Shake that soda up
(Watch that soda pop)

Until,
There’s less stress
In the system
We’ll all be the victim
Of too much pressure
For sure

Shake that soda up
Until it’s soda pop

PART IV
Mama had a baby and it’s head popped off
Unless there’s less stress
The pressure will build
The pressure will kill
Unless there’s less stress

Go ahead, and shake that soda up
Watch that soda pop

Mama had a baby and it’s head popped off

Unless there’s less stress

Go ahead, and shake that soda up
Watch that soda pop

Mama had a baby and it’s head popped off

For sure
The pressure
Will kill

No victim. No Crime.

Chorus

Instead, why don’t you sedate your confusion… militant delusion

CHORDS
Chorus — Em Am C D A C
Verse — Em C G A E

Made in the USA. Conceived on a roadtrip down Interstate 81 from Pennsylvania to Virginia Tech and back. My son needed a ride back to VA so that he could walk the Appalachian Trail back to PA. On the road, an 18-wheeler kept creeping across the line. He yelled out, “Yo! Dancing on the line.” So, this is basically a song about the thrills of being on the road… be it in a car or walking through the wilderness.

No matter what we may do
We’ve gotta keep the faith
Nemesis hubris does pursue
The promise of the oath

Maketh me to lay down in green pasture
Pray for the calm to come faster

Thank God for every moment ’till my last final dying gasp of breath

This land was trashed by you and me

If you don’t believe me
Take a look and see
People living happily
From resurrecting
Light in the darkest
To embracing
The very poorest
May jubilation
Setting us free
Understand peace and harmony
Understand peace between you and me

LYRICS
What makes someone act like that?
Makes ya wonder
Why someone would act like that
Why they squander
The love… when that’s where it’s at

Why do people hate and kill
Makes ya wonder
Plenty of yield to fulfill
Yet we squander
Let love cure these mentally ill

What makes someone rape and pillage
Makes ya wonder
Why someone wants the Ill Age
Why they squander
The love when that’s the courage

LYRICS
Just landed on this stage
And, it’s all the world
What planet? Say, what Age?

Is it an Age you can grow old
When a future generation can be told
Or, an Age when the arrogant’s too bold
When all our live’s expectations have been sold

Is that our world?

Is it a stage you know you can play
Where a fortune generation is to say
The way to truth when you know the way
When all our expectations unfold

Is that our world?

I’m just a foreigner passing through
Praying my days aren’t too few
I’m just a foreigner passing through
Praying to make the most of all I do

Is that our world?
