bookmark_borderWeather Wars

LYRICSWhile the herd is aimlessly grazing
What I’ve heard is hair-raising
All the cows lay with a storm on the way
No not me
Seek shelter out of harm’s way
Grab your lover
And run for cover
Weather war
Is dishing out more
Fore sure
It’s up to us
If you’re prosperous

We’ve been given the time
Yet ended sublime
Chose to self-anoint
Then, exploit
While the herd is aimlessly grazing
What I’ve heard is hair-raising
All the cows lay with a storm on the way
No not me
Seek shelter out of harm’s way
Grab your lover
And run for cover
Weather war
Is dishing out more
Fore sure
It’s up to us
If we’re prosperous

This song is about 2 social media posts I made the day the song was written and recorded:

For those people living in Southeastern PA, extreme weather warning for this afternoon. Please remember:
Q: Is there a limiting factor to the size of raindrops… that will prevent them from becoming lethal?
A: “A Hard Rain Is Falling” and, yes, hail can kill you.

I responded to a post about climate change being “frightening” and what we need to do. Most people want the government and/or businesses to take responsibility. Here was my response:
It is in everybody’s best interest to abandon fossil fuels immediately. The inevitable is already bad enough… if we continue on as usual, the severity and immediacy will increase exponentially. All need to take action… governments and businesses as organizations, and even more importantly — us… people. Everybody (at least in the USA) can go net-zero today and save money at the same time. Reaching “net zero” is easy, cheap, and saves you thousands of dollars, not to mention, you can help save the planet. Electricity and heat, food and land use, transportation, and investment. Here is what I’ve done to go carbon negative: Go Net Zero Now.

When I say “The inevitable is already bad enough”… this is what we are talking about… your guaranteed future:
Sea-level Rise: Greenland and the Collapse of the East Antarctic Ice Sheet

bookmark_borderThunder and Lightning

LYRICS
Upon first sighting
Of the lightning
No need to wonder
Of the thunder
The sound is found
It’ll come around
Takes ‘er a while
’bout five seconds for a mile
Count your drive to stay alive
1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Thunder or lightning
Which is frightening?
The jolt of a bolt
Will strike you down
The sound lag found
It’ll come around
Takes ‘er a while
’bout five seconds for a mile
Count your drive to stay alive
1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Mile per hour: 7 6 7
Our race pace
To heaven
[The might
Of the speed of light]

The speed of light is 186,000 miles per second. The speed of sound is 767 miles per hour. You can tell how far away the lightning strikes are from your location by counting the time between the light and the sound. It takes about 5 seconds for the thunder to travel 1 mile. As climate change brings more extreme weather events, cumulonimbus clouds will become more common. Cumulonimbus clouds create the conditions the conditions for thunder and lightning, as well as, creating extreme precipitation momentum that is deadly.

LYRICS
Get a couple of things
Off my chest
Think it’s best
To forget about the rest
Before they lay me down to rest
Gotta see Man pass the test
Take interest in the interest of Man
Understand air, sea, and land

Got a couple things on my mind
Why’s it hard to find
The kind kind
Before they lay me down to rest
Gotta see Man pass the test
Take interest in the interest of Man
Understand air, sea, and land

Get a couple of things
Off my back
Why do we hack
When there’s nothing we lack
Before they lay me down to rest
Gotta see Man pass the test
Take interest in the interest of Man
Understand air, sea, and land

bookmark_borderThe Eve of Eve

LYRICS
When did things go wrong
Back to the garden
Where did things go wrong
Blame it on Eden
On the eve of Eve
Dawn of destruction
Hard to believe
Call it satisfaction
On the eve of Eve

Adam’s same old song
“Woman, you’ve done me wrong”
Eternal shame
Collateral blame
On the eve of Eve
Dawn of destruction
Hard to believe
Call it satisfaction
On the eve of Eve

Satan moved on and on
On to Babylon
Playin’ the same old game
with a different name
On the eve of Eve
Dawn of destruction
Hard to believe
Call it satisfaction
On the eve of Eve

A song about people not taking responsibility for climate change. If you use fossil fuel or hydro carbon products, you are to blame. You can not blame your bad actions on Eve, an apple, and a snake.

bookmark_borderReality Naivety

LYRICS
Confusion
Delusion
What’s the deal with reality
Is it real… the duality
Looking in the mirror
See myself clearer
Just rehearse
In reverse?

Confusion
Illusion
What’s the deal with relativity
Is it real… or my naivety
Looking in the mirror
See myself clearer
Just rehearse
In reverse?

Confusion
Infusion
What’s the deal with creativity
Is it real… spontaneity
Looking in the mirror
See myself clearer
Just rehearse
In reverse?

This song considers several concepts of math, physics, and human life. “Wave–particle duality is the concept in quantum mechanics that every particle or quantum entity may be described as either a particle or a wave.” Is that possible? Or is a mirror image in reverse? “The image of everything in front of the mirror is reflected backward, retracing the path it traveled to get there. Nothing is switching left to right or up-down. Instead, it’s being inverted front to back.” If I live the mirror image of my life, will I grow younger? Is there a “dependence of various physical phenomena on relative motion of the observer and the observed objects, especially regarding the nature and behavior of light, space, time, and gravity”? How about creativity? Do people really come up with original ideas? Is it possible to be spontaneous?

LYRICS
O.K. here we go
Do you think so
Or really know so
Do you think so
Or merely hope so?
O.K. here we go
Can’t wait!
Out of the starting gate
Canned hate
Sent to the pearly gates
Replays your days

O.K. here we go
Do you think so
Or really know so
Do you think so
Or merely hope so?
O.K. here we go
That’s great
No longer have to wait
That hate
Gone to dissipate

O.K. here we go
Do you think so
Or really know so
Do you think so
Or merely hope so?
O.K. here we go
Above
All there’s love
Let love
Rise above

LYRICS
Catch me?
I’m jumping
Don’t want to get wet
Should have learned swimming
But have not as yet
Die with regret?
Know no
Not yet
Mind over matter
Recovery
Climb up the ladder
Discovery

Catch me?
I’m falling
Don’t want to get hurt
Should have learned flying
Now headed for dirt
Die with regret?
Know no
Not yet
Mind over matter
Recovery
Climb up the ladder
Discovery

Catch me?
I’m fainting
Feel light in the head
Should have kept running
Catch me, I’m dead
Die with regret?
Know no
Not yet
Mind over matter
Recovery
Climb up the ladder
Discovery

LYRICS
Right when I saw it coming
That’s when the awe in dumbing
I came to see
Took over me
It took a long time
Such a long time
To figure it out
Seemed like forever
Or maybe never
To figure out
What it’s all about

Right when I felt it hitting
That’s when it’s too late for quitting
It came to me
I am to be
It took a long time
Such a long time
To figure it out
Seemed like forever
Or maybe never
To figure out
What it’s all about

Right when there’s understanding
That’s when there’s de-Man-ding
We’ve come to see
Left-over we
It took a long time
Such a long time
To figure it out
Seemed like forever
Or maybe never
To figure out
What it’s all about

LYRICS
Once upon a time
It was said to often
A trite redundancy
Once reason and rhyme
Trended to soften
Not right
Stupendously
When brains are in the bottom
It’s easy to see
It comes out smelling rotten
Feeling messy…
Runny
(Not funny)

Once in a while
It was said too often
Quite trite redundancy
The rancid and vile
Sent for a coffin
Not right
Repugnant, see
When brains are in the bottom
It’s easy to see
It comes out smelling rotten
Feeling messy…
Runny
(Not funny)

Once and done
It was said too often
Trite blight redundancy
Since reason and rhyme
Tended to soften
Not right
What’s left for me?
When brains are in the bottom
It’s easy to see
It comes out smelling rotten
Feeling messy…
Runny

LYRICS
I can feel it
Can you seal it?
Fly above the clouds
I’ve come to share
You’ve come to care?
Try the love on crowds
Let the reign fall
Love fall on all
Do unto the morning dew
Reason season
Flavor it we’ll savor it
With passion’s fruit

I can hear it
Can you steer it?
Fly above the storm
I hear it clear
Both far and near
Let’s make love the norm
Let the reign fall
Love fall on all
Do unto the morning dew
Reason season
Flavor it we’ll savor it
With passion’s fruit

Now we know it
Can we grow it
Rise above the hate
The time is now
The rhyme is how
Pour the love… why wait?
Let the reign fall
Love fall on all
Do unto the morning dew
Reason season
Flavor it we’ll savor it
With passion’s fruit

LYRICS
When you ride in the back
The one thing you lack
Is a little bit of self-control
Then rock n’ roll
Can sooth the soul
The human role
Get back
Get back
What you lack
As a matter of fact
Give love get back

When you ride in the trunk
Despite all your spunk
You’ve still got no control
Then rock n’ roll
Can sooth the soul
The human role
Get back
Get back
What you lack
As a matter of fact
Give love get back

When you drive from up front
You’re in charge of the hunt
If things get out-of-control
Then rock n’ roll
Can sooth the soul
The human role
Get back
Get back

Just as right is to wrong —
Same as it ever was
Your will is as strong
As you choose right or wrong —
Same as it ever was
It’s up to you what you do
It’s up to you if you have a clue
[F# jam… E F F#]

The dark of night
Just as right is to wrong —
Same as it ever was
See the light
It can’t wait long
And become the cause
It’s up to us what we do
It’s up to us to have a clue
Our time’s come due

LYRICS
I’ve come to realize
It comes as no surprise
But should it?
Accumulate lies
Truth and justice dies
Now quit it
Change in the wind
Blow you back to where you’ve been
Waste of the sinned
Blow about, snuff us out
Blowin’ about n’ snuffin’ us out

I’ve come to realize
Can’t quite despite our tries
Bad habit
Accumulate trash
Hopes and dreams dashed
Argh, dam it
Change in the wind
Blow you back to where you’ve been
Waste of the sinned
Blow about, snuff us out
Blowin’ about n’ snuffin’ us out

I’ve come to realize
Deaf ears to our cries
Why should it?
Propogate4 lies
As the truth dies
Drip by drip
Rip by rip
Change in the wind
Blow you back to where you’ve been
Waste of the sinned
Blow about, snuff us out
Blowin’ about n’ snuffin’ us out

LYRICS
Are you bullish
Or the bear?
Are you foolish
Pigs beware
The change is in the air
The change is already there

Are you so proud
Wrapped up in your pride?
A fool too loud
Cracked inside
The change is in the air
The change is already there

I’ve been humbled
Brought down to my knees
Once I’ve stumbled
Seek one with the breeze
The wind of change… prepare?
Wind of change is already there
Did you hear?
It’s here!

A song about “the long-term breathing experiment” and the Air Quality Crisis of 2023, the Canadian wildfires caused 4 days in a row of Unhealthy (151 to 200 AQI) to Hazardous (301 and higher AQI) outdoor air quality across much of the United States.

Smoke from wildfires in Canada brought record-breaking air pollution to the United States this spring, creating dangerous air quality from Bismarck, N.D., to Denver and Detroit to New York City and Washington. According to a Washington Post analysis of smoke data through June 7 (2023) from Stanford University, 197 air quality monitoring stations have reported all-time high pollution from wildfires.

And we’ll show ’em whose right
In deed, with deft
It’s brains over might
Jumping through hoops

Still the treadmill

Block with your cross
Use footwork defense
They’re at a loss
For common sense
Jumping through hoops
And loopity-loops
Still the treadmill

Strike while you’re hot
Form a knife’s edge
Give all you’ve got
Become life’s sledge

Jumping to heights
