Though never a big league ball player, I do enjoy playing the All-American-Past-Time from time-to-time. The one thing that does come to mind is when a youngster is on base… and a bigger fellow hits a home run. The song was written and recorded in Ambler and West Chester, Pennsylvania on an 8-track digital recorder. 1 track was used for guitar. 2 tracks were used for a stereo vocal track. 3 tracks were used for individual backing vocals. 2 tracks were used to create a stereo master mix.
The inspiration for the guitar lick and the lyrics came from the vibe of the people passing by.
