bookmark_borderWhat Did You Pay For?

LYRICS
You get what you pay for
Regret — Post-purchase dissonance
And yet, we expect more
Bliss is ignorance
No, nevermore
It’s true
We’re do to pay our dues
Me. You.
And, I’ve a hunch
We borrowed too much
Then sum/some
Then sum
Then some
Then some more

We took more than we paid for
And yet we expect more
Forget regret just pay the debt
Bliss is ignorance
No, nevermore
It’s true
We’re do to pay our dues
Me. You.
And, I’ve a hunch
We borrowed too much
Then sum/some
Then sum
Then some
Then some more

LYRICS
The greens of the trees
How many of these?
The green with sheen
(and/or) Darker blue hue
Spruced up by spruce
And other fine pine
Dash of ash
Cherry, mulberry
Staple maple
Stoke the oak
A scene of green
In a see/sea of trees
Such visions are these

Point the direction
Just to be fair
I’m already there
For those who care:
We’re of like mind
Define kind
Try to be fair

Of those who care
As times get tough
And the going gets rough
We can be
In harmony

Mention the notion
We’ve inspiration
All declare
We’ll help you get there
As times get tough
And the going gets rough
We can be

LYRICS
A void growing in heads
“Avoid going outdoors”
Is how the headline read
Who knows the timeline any more?
If you must go out
Figure it out
Best how not to breathe
Got to figure out
Beyond doubt
Less your kinfolk grieve

A void growing in heads
“Avoid going outdoors”
Is how the headline read
Who knows the timeline any more?
If you want to put of death
Hold your breath
Try not to move
Still behoove
Want to prove?
Consider the depth and breadth
To groove

A void growing in heads
“Avoid going outdoors”
Is how the headline read
Who knows the timeline any more?
Yeah, a void growing in heads
Clear ear-to-ear
Made their beds…
Hate and fear
A void growing in heads
“Avoid going outdoors”
Is how the headline read
Who knows the timeline any more?

LYRICS
Their smoke signals
Traveled such a long way
Invoke channels
To save the day
“Take a breath
You’ll risk premature death,”
They say

Is it wild how the wildfires
Stole the role of the town criers?
“Take a breath
You’ll risk premature death,”
They say

In the era of the new skywriters
Human error… now we’re fire fighters
“Take a breath
You’ll risk premature death,”
They say

Climate change was on the way
It’s here today
It’s here to stay
Hey folk,
Wake up! Smell the smoke

We saw it coming
Hope you practiced jumping?
How low can we go
How high can we fly?
We blew our gases
Gone with the wind
We’ve no more passes
Long, in “has been”
Blowin’… we keep blowin’… blowin’ it
All the time knowing it
Just can’t quit

Foregone foreboding
Hope you practiced self-loathing
Too late to wait
Procrastinate hate
We blew our gases
Gone with the wind
We’ve no more passes
Long, in “has been”
Blowin’… we keep blowin’… blowin’ it
All the time knowing it
Just can’t quit

This song was inspired by the paper “Animal Agriculture is the Leading Cause of Climate Change”.

I said, “About the paper, it is not a good paper… flawed in several ways. The main problem with the paper is it depends on “the potential to sequester over 2000 Giga tons”. No amount of sequestering will solve our problem. Sequestration is only a temporary solution. The most important thing for people to do is stop the use of hydrocarbon-based products today… followed by everything else. Minimize consumption of everything.

Plant vegetation sequestration only lasts for several years (with old growth hardwood some sequestration may last up to 100 years.) We wrote a paper on it a few years ago. Though the paper focuses on hemp, it covers all vegetation (The Hemp Myth, Carbon Sinks and the Environment).

Some people argue that we can not abruptly stop the use of fossil fuels or it will cause social unrest. The total collapse of society is inevitable. Even if we stopped using fossil fuels today, we have already baked in a rise of 2 degrees Celsius. “The Earth will exceed 1.5℃ (average global surface temperature over the surface of the earth for ten years) by the 2040’s and a societal collapse will ensue. For the most part, the Earth will be uninhabitable for humans by 2070 UNLESS immediate action is taken.” — Brouse and Mukherjee

The average life of a tree planted for carbon credit sequestration is 7 years. (In addition, “Tree Extinction Due to Human Induced Environmental Stress” is already lowering the life expectancy of all trees.) Climate scientists, such as myself, are against the use of sequestering for carbon credits. Giving carbon offsets for planting trees and allowing for the continued use of fossil fuels is greenwashing and accelerates the pace of climate change.

What I’ve heard is hair-raising
All the cows lay with a storm on the way
No not me

Weather war
Is dishing out more
Fore sure
It’s up to us
If you’re prosperous

We’ve been given the time
Yet ended sublime
Chose to self-anoint
Then, exploit
While the herd is aimlessly grazing

This song is about 2 social media posts I made the day the song was written and recorded:

For those people living in Southeastern PA, extreme weather warning for this afternoon. Please remember:
Q: Is there a limiting factor to the size of raindrops… that will prevent them from becoming lethal?
A: “A Hard Rain Is Falling” and, yes, hail can kill you.

I responded to a post about climate change being “frightening” and what we need to do. Most people want the government and/or businesses to take responsibility. Here was my response:
It is in everybody’s best interest to abandon fossil fuels immediately. The inevitable is already bad enough… if we continue on as usual, the severity and immediacy will increase exponentially. All need to take action… governments and businesses as organizations, and even more importantly — us… people. Everybody (at least in the USA) can go net-zero today and save money at the same time. Reaching “net zero” is easy, cheap, and saves you thousands of dollars, not to mention, you can help save the planet. Electricity and heat, food and land use, transportation, and investment. Here is what I’ve done to go carbon negative: Go Net Zero Now.

When I say “The inevitable is already bad enough”… this is what we are talking about… your guaranteed future:

LYRICS
Upon first sighting
Of the lightning
No need to wonder
Of the thunder
The sound is found
It’ll come around
Takes ‘er a while
’bout five seconds for a mile
Count your drive to stay alive
1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Thunder or lightning
Which is frightening?
The jolt of a bolt
Will strike you down
The sound lag found
It’ll come around
Takes ‘er a while
’bout five seconds for a mile
Count your drive to stay alive
1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Mile per hour: 7 6 7
Our race pace
To heaven
[The might
Of the speed of light]

The speed of light is 186,000 miles per second. The speed of sound is 767 miles per hour. You can tell how far away the lightning strikes are from your location by counting the time between the light and the sound. It takes about 5 seconds for the thunder to travel 1 mile. As climate change brings more extreme weather events, cumulonimbus clouds will become more common. Cumulonimbus clouds create the conditions the conditions for thunder and lightning, as well as, creating extreme precipitation momentum that is deadly.

Cumulonimbus can kiss this
Another storm warning
Maybe it will be a near miss
Clear skies by morning?
Starting to get what they mean
When they say weather’s extreme
In the middle of broad daylight
Sky turned black as night
Never knew a wind to blow
Now a new wind I know
Good times go

Cumulonimbus menacing us
Extending high in the sky
Thunder clouds screaming out loud
Tower and plume loom high
Starting to get what they mean
When they say weather’s extreme
In the middle of broad daylight
Sky turned black as night
Never knew a wind to blow
Now a new wind I know
Good times go

A cumulonimbus cloud is capable of creating extreme precipitation momentum that is deadly. Everything falling to earth accelerates at 9.8 m/s^2 (32ft/s^2) [the downward speed increases at 9.8 m/s (32 ft/s) every second.]

Off my chest
Think it’s best
To forget about the rest
Before they lay me down to rest
Gotta see Man pass the test
Take interest in the interest of Man

Got a couple things on my mind
Why’s it hard to find
The kind kind
Before they lay me down to rest
Gotta see Man pass the test
Take interest in the interest of Man
Understand air, sea, and land

Get a couple of things
Off my back
Why do we hack
When there’s nothing we lack
Before they lay me down to rest

Back to the garden
Where did things go wrong
Blame it on Eden
On the eve of Eve

“Woman, you’ve done me wrong”
Eternal shame
Collateral blame

On to Babylon
Playin’ the same old game
with a different name
On the eve of Eve

Looking in the mirror

Is it real… or my naivety
Looking in the mirror

What’s the deal with creativity
Is it real… spontaneity

This song considers several concepts of math, physics, and human life. “Wave–particle duality is the concept in quantum mechanics that every particle or quantum entity may be described as either a particle or a wave.” Is that possible? Or is a mirror image in reverse? “The image of everything in front of the mirror is reflected backward, retracing the path it traveled to get there. Nothing is switching left to right or up-down. Instead, it’s being inverted front to back.” If I live the mirror image of my life, will I grow younger? Is there a “dependence of various physical phenomena on relative motion of the observer and the observed objects, especially regarding the nature and behavior of light, space, time, and gravity”? How about creativity? Do people really come up with original ideas? Is it possible to be spontaneous?
