Rain…
A little rain.
(Then more…)
Then the sky opens…
(The door)
[Refrain]
The reign of rain
(Deluge)
The pain of reign
(Brain bruise)
[Verse 1]
Clouds roll in across the town
Gray upon gray, coming down
Drop by drop, the pavement shines
Then the rain crosses the lines
[Pre-Chorus]
Rise
(Watch the skies)
[Refrain]
The reign of rain
(Deluge)
The pain of reign
(Brain bruise)
Water falling
(Down and down)
Water moving
(Through the ground)
Deluge
(Too much)
Rush
(Feel the flush)
[Verse 2]
When the atmosphere gets loaded
And the water vapor’s exploded
Energy moves from sea to sky
Then comes back… feel Mother cry
[Instrumental]
[Electric Guitar Solo: Dark Blues-Rock Lead, Rolling Bass, Thunderous Drums, Organ Swells, Rain FX]
[Bridge]
The reign
(Of rain)
The pain
(Of reign)
Brain bruise
(Confuse)
What can we do
(What can we choose?)
When the water
(Starts to rise)
Look around
(Open your eyes)
[Breakdown]
[Drums Drop Out: Low Synth Pulse, Rain and Thunder FX, Acoustic Guitar Harmonics]
That’s not just rain
(A vein… of energy)
Strain… capacity
[Final Refrain]
The reign of rain
(Deluge)
The pain of reign
(Brain bruise)
[Final Chorus]
Deluge
(Coming down)
Deluge
(Through the town)
Reign of rain
(Feel the strain)
Pain of reign
(Brain drain)
Flow and flush
(Rush and gush)
Overflow
(Where does it go?)
Deluge
(Feel the force)
Changing channels
(Changing course)
[Outro]
[Instrumental Outro: Rolling Drums, Rain FX, Deep Bass, Guitar Feedback, Distant Thunder]
The reign…
[Intro]
[Instrumental Intro: Pulsing Bass, Angular Electric Guitar, Tight Drums, Glitching Synth]
[Spoken Vocal]
Right on the edge…
The bleeding edge.
Moving fast enough to feel all around…
But slow enough to look down.
[Refrain]
Flush
(With the bleeding edge)
Rush
(Looking over the ledge)
The gravity
(Would get to me)
Per second
(Per second)
Come to be reckoned
(Wreck on… and on and on)
[Verse 1]
Standing where the old meets new
Wondering what the edge can do
Technology is moving fast
How long can yesterday last?
One more step and one more leap
Into waters running deep
Looking down and looking through
At what we know and what we knew
[Refrain]
Flush
(With the bleeding edge)
Rush
(Looking over the ledge)
The gravity
(Would get to me)
Per second
(Per second)
Come to be reckoned
(Wreck on… and on and on)
[Verse 2]
Progress can be quite a ride
With a little danger on the side
What seems distant comes around
What was solid leaves the ground
Faster systems, faster change
Moving through a wider range
When the pace begins to climb
Can we keep up with the time?
[Instrumental]
[Electric Guitar Solo: Sharp, Experimental Lead, Distorted Bass, Driving Drums, Glitch Synth Pulses]
[Bridge]
(32 feet)
Per second
(Per second)
Defeat the feat
Tick by tick
(Quick, quick, quick)
Step by step
(Watch your step)
Round and round
(Going down)
Gravity
(Won’t negotiate)
Reality
(Will calculate)
[Breakdown]
[Drums Drop Out: Deep Bass Pulse, Distant Guitar Harmonics, Filtered Synth]
32 feet per second
… for every single second that we fall
(After all…)
1 second: 32 ft/s (22 mph)
2 seconds: 64 ft/s (44 mph)
3 seconds: 96 ft/s (65 mph)
Better hold on tight
(’cause we just might…)
Not endure the floor
[Final Refrain]
Flush
(With the bleeding edge)
Rush
(Looking over the ledge)
The gravity
(Would get to me)
Per second
(Per second)
Come to be reckoned
(Wreck on… and on and on)
[Final Chorus]
Flush with the bleeding edge
(Rush!)
Careful on the ledge
(Watch out!)
Shout:
Gravity!
(Falling free)
[Outro]
[Instrumental Outro: Guitar Feedback, Pulsing Bass, Glitching Synth, Drums Building Then Abrupt Stop]
Flush…
[Instrumental, Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Bass, Drums, Piano, Organ, Synth]
[Intro]
[Instrumental Intro: Bright Acoustic Guitar, Rolling Bass, Loose Drums, Tropical Percussion, Warm Organ]
[Spoken Vocal]
No hurry…
Well, maybe a little hurry…
But the island has its own way.
So… what do you say…
(Rush!)
[Refrain]
Rush (to the new day)
In an island sort of way
Rush (to dance in play)
On an island… stay the day
[Verse 1]
Morning breaks across the bay
Golden light begins the day
Barefoot walking, warm and slow
Where we’re headed, we don’t know
Ocean rhythm, island beat
Sun above and sand beneath
Catch the breeze and let it sway
There’s another kind of way
[Pre-Chorus]
Rush
(But take your time)
Move
(And catch the rhyme)
Go
(But don’t forget)
Feel
(The moment yet)
[Chorus]
Rush to the new day
(In an island sort of way)
Rush to dance and play
(On an island, stay the day)
Let the water
(Wash away)
All the hurry
(Of yesterday)
Find the rhythm
(Find the sway)
Rush
(In an island sort of way)
[Verse 2]
Palm trees bending in the breeze
Salt air drifting from the seas
Someone’s laughing down the shore
Maybe that’s what mornings are for
Music coming from afar
Sunlight dancing like a star
Nothing here needs quite the pace
Of the world we left in place
[Instrumental]
[Acoustic Guitar Solo: Bright Island Strumming, Steel Guitar Accents, Congas, Bass, Loose Drums]
[Bridge]
Island way
(Island day)
Come along
(Stay and play)
No need rushing
(But we rush)
No need pushing
(Feel the gush)
Ocean rolls
(We roll too)
Round the bend
(Into blue)
About the Song
The new release of the day, “Acceleration,” comes from the album Rush. It’s a retro-futuristic garage-rock track infused with elements of dubstep, before transitioning into experimental electronic glitch.
The song explores climate acceleration—the way warming, feedback activation, feedback coupling, and amplification can push the climate system into increasingly rapid change. The progression is much like water cascading over a waterfall: once the flow accelerates, each successive drop carries the system faster toward the next.
“Acceleration” features an Ibanez electric/acoustic guitar alongside a mix of analog and synthesizer keyboards, blending organic instrumentation with increasingly chaotic electronic textures.
The climate system is not simply warming—it is changing how it responds to that warming. Coupled climate feedbacks are becoming one of the most consequential dimensions of climate risk in the 21st century because they amplify changes and connect individual tipping-point pathways into larger cascading effects.
The longer warming persists, the more climate feedbacks become active. As these feedbacks interact, we are already observing nonlinear responses, amplification, and cascading impacts across the climate system. Hundreds of feedback mechanisms have been identified, and many can couple and reinforce one another, contributing to the accelerating pace and increasing magnitude of climate change—The Domino Effect.
Bottom line:The question is no longer how warm the planet becomes, but how life on Earth can endure when change outpaces our ability to adapt.
We cannot control the laws of physics, but we can control our pollution. The most effective action is to stop burning fossil fuels.
[Refrain]
(Hush shshs)
Rush
(Around and around)
Stealth
(Rush)
Undercover
(Rush)
Around and around
(Seen as one… with the scene)
We might…
(Reach the speed of light)
[Verse 1]
Round the corner, out of sight
Moving quietly through the night
No direction standing still
Just the motion, thrill until
Shadow moving through the crowd
Not too quiet, not too loud
Like a current in the stream
Disappear into the scene
[Pre-Chorus]
Hush
(Don’t speak)
Rush
(Stay sleek)
Round and round
(Without a sound)
Move unseen
(Within the scene)
[Chorus]
Around and around
(Round and round)
Rush without a sound
(Underground)
Stealth in motion
(Like the tide)
Moving with the current
(From inside)
Seen as one
(With the scene)
Moving faster
(In the dream)
[Verse 2]
Spin the wheel and change the view
What was old becomes brand new
Patterns turning, circles bend
Where does beginning meet the end?
[Final Refrain]
(Hush shshs)
Rush
(Around and around)
Stealth
(Rush)
Undercover
(Rush)
Around and around
(Seen as one… with the scene)
We might…
(Reach the speed of light)
[Final Chorus]
Around and around
(Round and round)
Rush
(Without a sound)
Undercover
(Blending in)
Moving faster
(Feel the spin)
Seen as one
(With the scene)
Moving faster
(In the dream)
