bookmark_borderGet Ready (The Remedy)

LYRICS
Should I be getting ready?

Can’t you see it coming
Doesn’t appear to be petty
I wouldn’t be nose thumbing
(I wouldn’t be “no’s” thumbing)
With the speed of light
She’ll set things right
Millions of years in mere moments
Our fears and tears
Tails of comets
(Tales of comets)

Forget about holding steady
Run, run, run already
I wouldn’t be nose/no’s thumbing
Done dumbing
Start running
With the speed of light
She’ll set things right
Millions of years in mere moments
Our fears and tears
Tails of comets
(Tales of comets)

Surely there’s a remedy?

Remedy? You kidding me?
Can’t you see the remedy
… think extinct
Back to stardust (Start dust)
For the Earth to be just
Millions of years in mere moments
Our fears and tears
Tails of comets
(Tales of comets)

A song about humans being made of stardust. “Every atom of oxygen in our lungs, of carbon in our muscles, of calcium in our bones, of iron in our blood – was created inside a star before Earth was born.” (American Museum of Natural History) What do you think nature’s remedy to the human induced climate crisis will be… back to stardust?

The intensity’s igniting
Legitimacy is biting
Finding tumbling walls fall
Wrecking ball
Can’t look back
too late for that
No don’t look back
It’s ugly
Thugs of history

Crashed and dashed
Hopes and dreams
Smashed and thrashed
Slopes and scenes

LYRICS
Search for the words
Put down the swords
The sounds of birds
Enchanting
It won’t be long
Till their songs are gone

To right our wrong
De-Man-ding
The thorns of the thistle
Set scorn with a bristle
Grasp the wasp’s stinger
To feel poison linger
The snake mistake
Men take in their own venom
Should have seen it comin’
These stories I can not make
As we watch Man overtake
Epic fail
Overtakes his own tail
Epic fail
Swallowing his own tale

This is a song about Man’s worst enemy — Man. In July of 2023 we wrote the paper, Climate Change: End of Times.

All of my life I have located my office and bedrooms in the uppermost southern exposure (preferably in the tree canopy.) I love sunlight, elevation, trees, fresh air, and wildlife. It is becoming ever more obvious my dreamlife is coming to an end, and I will be forced to tunnel under. For those forward thinkers, think about your poop. Pumping sewage above ground level will be a major problem at all times. In addition, the inability to pump flood water will become deadly during extreme weather events. In July of 2020 NPR reported, “The remnants of Hurricane Ida dropped unprecedented rainfall on several eastern states, killing dozens of people. Eleven of them were Queens residents who died when their basement apartments flooded.” In August of 2022 CNN reported, “Seoul has vowed to move some of the city’s poorest families out of underground and semi-subterranean homes after 13 people were killed in flooding caused by record rainfall this week, sparking public horror and calls for government accountability.” Drowning in your own poop may result for those unprepared.

Fresh air, water, food, and light will also be problematic; however, your most severe concern will likely be security. Those with supplies will be at high risk of being raped and looted. Good luck!

LYRICS
Where are we going
With no one knowing
It must be some sort-of gag
Blindfolded and bagged
Shortcomings showing

We were to embark
Now just a thud in the dark

Where are we going
With no one knowing
“It must be some sort-of joke?”
The Grim Reaper spoke
Shortcomings growing

We were to set sail
Instead flail and bail

Where are we going
With no one knowing
It must be some sort-of hoax
When the truth cannot coax
Shortcomings flowing

We were to ride high
But chose to subside

LYRICS
You get what you pay for
Regret — Post-purchase dissonance
And yet, we expect more
Bliss is ignorance
No, nevermore
It’s true
We’re do to pay our dues
Me. You.
And, I’ve a hunch
We borrowed too much
Then sum/some
Then sum
Then some
Then some more

We took more than we paid for
And yet we expect more
Forget regret just pay the debt
Bliss is ignorance
No, nevermore
It’s true
We’re do to pay our dues
Me. You.
And, I’ve a hunch
We borrowed too much
Then sum/some
Then sum
Then some
Then some more

LYRICS
A void growing in heads
“Avoid going outdoors”
Is how the headline read
Who knows the timeline any more?
If you must go out
Figure it out
Best how not to breathe
Got to figure out
Beyond doubt
Less your kinfolk grieve

A void growing in heads
“Avoid going outdoors”
Is how the headline read
Who knows the timeline any more?
If you want to put of death
Hold your breath
Try not to move
Still behoove
Want to prove?
Consider the depth and breadth
To groove

A void growing in heads
“Avoid going outdoors”
Is how the headline read
Who knows the timeline any more?
Yeah, a void growing in heads
Clear ear-to-ear
Made their beds…
Hate and fear
A void growing in heads
“Avoid going outdoors”
Is how the headline read
Who knows the timeline any more?

LYRICS
Does the light look a little funny to you
Just me… or you, too?
Well, is it hard to tell if it’s sunny… sky blue
Not hard for me
Easy to see
Your view, too?
Sepia tone space
In my face
Seems we’re prone
To displace
The human race

The light… it’s not quite right — sunny ta-do?
Yes, me… and you, too
Pour vinegar, spare the honey, cry sky blue blues
Sky blue blues
Not hard for me
Easy to see
Your view, too?
Sepia tone space
In my face
Seems we’re prone
To displace
The human race

During the Air Quality Crisis of 2023, the Canadian wildfires caused 4 days in a row of Unhealthy (151 to 200 AQI) to Hazardous (301 and higher AQI) outdoor air quality across much of the United States. The air was so thick with smoke and haze you couldn’t see the sky. Visibility was reduced to yards not miles. During modest declines in pollution, the entire out-of-doors looked like it was being viewed through “old fashioned” sepia tone filters.

Smoke from wildfires in Canada brought record-breaking air pollution to the United States this spring, creating dangerous air quality from Bismarck, N.D., to Denver and Detroit to New York City and Washington. According to a Washington Post analysis of smoke data through June 7 (2023) from Stanford University, 197 air quality monitoring stations have reported all-time high pollution from wildfires.

LYRICS
Should be interesting to see
The way things are going
Just between you and me
The way things are going
Just between you and me
Interesting to see
The way it’s going
The curve’s sloping up
The curve’s sloping down
All de;ends which way you’re facing
Spacing
Bottom of the cup
Or upside down frown
All depends which way you’re facing
Spacing
So it should be interesting to see
The way things are going
Just between you and me
The way things are going
Just between you and me
Interesting to see
The way it’s going

Human induced climate change is an exponential component of an unordered system (chaos theory). That means global warming is accelerating at a rapid rate in a complex way. How extreme the slope appears depends on where you are facing.

LYRICS
Forward or back
Direction we lack
It’s hard to know
Where to go

To left or right
Direction insight
It’s hard to know
Where to go
So I must confess
No compass
No GPS
Can save us from our mess
[Lost… disoriented
Tossed… disarray this way]

Head up or down
Spinning around
It’s hard to know
Where to go

Come in
Go out
What’s it about?
It’s hard to know
Where to go
So I must confess
No compass
No GPS
Can save us from our mess

Who knows
How it will end
Whether they’ll withstand the weather

The response to question could deafen
Well, hell… or heaven

The rains fall

What’s your call
Do you know?
Whether they’ll withstand the weather
Will they endeavor
Forever and ever
Who can tell

But it keeps getting shorter
All of the time

All the time
Prime time

It’s a long time
But it keeps getting shorter
All of the time
Been a long time
But after second quarter
Makes it half-time
Seeing all you’ve caught
Being all you’ve got

Sounds just like mine
All was going fine

They’ll defy you
Till you’ll implore

And, me too

Are you leery

Well so am I
And here is why
Till they ignore
Nothing more
They’ll defy you
Till you’ll implore
Maybe more
They’ll define you
What to do?
