LYRICS
Don’t know if I can put to tune
All of (your) life’s ruin
But it’s coming to me
You help me see
What it means to be

Wont’ forget:
Cherish every moment
Won’t be long
’til it’s gone
Won’t regret
A single moment
Just as long
As I write your song
For you to listen to
Help ease the pain
For yours and you, too
Help staying sane

Don’t know if I can put to tune
All of (your) life’s ruin
But it’s coming to me
You help me see
What it means to be

Written at the corner of High and Market Streets in Chester County, West Chester, PA, after two sisters approached me with a request. The one’s son had committed suicide a month prior. Could I play something for him… he liked Led Zeppelin. So, I played a couple Zeppelin songs:

“Throw me a line; If I reach it in time; I’ll meet you up there; Where the path runs straight And high”

“No, cryin’ won’t help you, prayin’ won’t do you no good… All last night sat on the levee and moaned… Thinkin’ ’bout my baby and my happy home”

When I finished, they were both crying. Then they asked, “Can I hug you?” After they left, I wrote this song for her son, Tommy.

LYRICS
If it makes the kids dance
Ya know it stands a chance
If it makes their mama move
Ya know you’re in the groove

If you’re waiting for God-given
When you’re already in heaven
Might be time to explore
Getting out a ‘lil more

Seeing the arms reaching
Knowing they want more
The child’s smile’s teaching
More than I knew before

If they stop you to interrupt
They must know what’s up
Can’t help nut show their feeling
Over what you’re dealing

LYRICS
Though the water’s clearly clear
Does it look blue to you?
Though the sky’s clearly clear
Does it look blue, too?

Is it clearly clear
Your personal point-of-view
Is relativity a rarity?

Though the days are the same
Are they going past fast
Though the nights are the same
Does it feel like they don’t last

Chorus

From where you’re at
Does the Earth look flat
The sun going around
From sunup ’til sundown

Chorus

LYRICS
Here I sing
Not missing a thing
Nothing
Not anything

Here I sing
Not missing a thing
Hey everybody
Anybody
What did you bring
Come on
Bring it on
We’ve got a jam upon us
I must confess
A jam upon us

It’s a fine line
Between this
And mess

I’ve got my eye
My I’s
I’s in my eyes
I’ve heard it said
I’ve got eyes on the back of my head

LYRICS
Insurmountable task
I don’t know how to ask
Dare I take the chance
Ans ask you to dance
Does it have to lead to romance
Is my mind the kind
That concedes
To wants and needs
Lord, help me please
I’m falling, falling, fall…
After all

LYRICS
Man,
This place is like Vietnam
Get your napalm balm on
And agent orange management
Under control
Let’s roll!
Sergeant,
Attention!
Didn’t you know what I meant?
Not a celebration
Of attention deficit
Not yet
At attention, citizen
You’re under invasion
Snap out of then, Men
Into zen
You’re in the men with two arm-me’s

LYRICS
As we’re whirling…
As we’re spinning around
I’m having trouble telling
Which way is up
Which way is down?
Every year
I travel around the sun
And just for fun
I turn around
Once a day
And after light
Once at night
Along the way….

Shinning moon
In the dark of night
Shedding light
Reflecting noon
Shimmering bright
Dancing on the surface
The ripples purpose
More than just a metaphor
For the time that’s mine
The river of time
To know the flow
From birth… to dying

bookmark_borderWalk On Water

LYRICS
On the eve
Of “find it hard to believe”
I find it surprising
The levels rising
Getting ready
Holding steady
Walking
On water
Does it matter
The state of matter?
Up there floating on air
Or solid ice would be nice
Sink or swim
I’m going
Walking on water
The state of matter
Does it matter?
Noted and state
Walk on water

bookmark_borderHave Guitar! Will Travel!

LYRICS
Got the guitar…
And an extra string
Can’t think of anything
No… nothing
I’m missing
Not missing a thing
I’ve got the guitar
And I’m traveling
No, not missing
… not missing a thing

Have guitar.
Will travel.
Near or fat
It’s all a marvel
Unfurled
6-string wonders of the world

Got the guitar and an extra string
There’s nothing else we need bring
Whenever we move it gives us a chance
Foot off the break and break into dance
Got the guitar and an extra string
Looks like we brought everything
(Sounds like we brought everything)
Taken the chance to dance
Breakout and sing
“Got the guitar and an extra string”

LYRICS
If you want to be a royal pain in the a$$
You’re first in your class
Though I appreciate strife
Evoking life
I’d say enough for today
On your way
Didn’t make an appointment
For a fly in the ointment
If I meant
To bang my head on cement
That’s where I would have went

Full royal flush
Thus
Pain in the a$$
Alas
Pain in the a$$

LYRICS
If the Earth is flat
How long would that be
From end to The End
How long would that have been
Treading in thick logic
Wading in sick logic
Quick
If you went splat
On an Earth that’s flat
Where would that be at
Would you, too, be
Two dimensional
Or does your rational
Already escape me
You were tow dimensional all
Along… just wasting my song
With sick logic
