(The Grinch That Stole The Christmas Blues)

LYRICS
You’re never alone on Christmas
Isn’t that what it’s all about?
Feeling lonely is only if you miss
The essence of the Christmas presence

Let’s figure it out?
The love will always be there, I swear
As long as there’s someone…
As long as there’s anyone…
As long as someone cares
That someone could be you
Lord, lordy, Lord, Lord, lordy
Lord, with you…. make two
And, as far as I can see
There’s me
(… that’s three…)
For crying out loud — A CROWD!

Singing Merry Christmas, Almighty
Bless you for taking pity
And, keeping me company

Dead Babies In Syria

LYRICS
An abominable snowman
Part creature… part man
The part abominable
Most probable
Man
Abominable… causing moral revulsion
Diversion, subversion, exclusion

Time for the inclusion solution
Let’s hope humanity can bounce back
After our ethical attack

Pushed ourselves over the cliff
Mostly over a religious riff
The penalty… swift and stiff
Time to be humble
Overcome our bumble

Do what counts
Do the bumble bounce

ABOUT THIS SONG
Chords — F# / G

Daniel — Vocals, Guitar, Synthesizers (All instruments played simultaneously and extemporaneously.)

“Christians are the most widely persecuted religious group in the world today and this evening we think especially of the Middle East, especially of Egypt, Iraq and Syria,” The Archbishop of Canterbury, Christmas, 2013

This song was inspired by the travesty of religious conflicts and killings during 2013. Unfortunately, the list is too long to list… Shiite, Sunni, Armenians, Christian, Buddhists, Dinka, Nuer, Beni Hussein, Rizeigat, Jews, Muslims… in Syria, Israel, Burma, South Sudan, Central African Republic, Nigeria, Turkey, Egypt, Afghanistan, Iraq… and on and on. Let’s pray we can bounce back.

LYRICS
There’s light at the end…
There’s light at the end…
There’s light at the end of the tunnel

Lord, deliver us from this hell hole

Gloria

Hallelujah, the hell hole is over

You brought light into the world
When “The End” was foretold
Turning meek into bold
Bringing warmth from the cold
Wanting the love to unfold

A gift to you and all your kin

Why do we countdown on New Year’s Eve?
When I think of time, it’s hard to perceive

Wait!
How much time between now and the end of 13

Know what I mean?

Burst onto the scene
The New Year’s Queen

The first moment
Of the first minute
In a new time rhyme

LYRICS
Ho, ho, ho, hallelujah
Ho, ho, ho, hallelujah
Do you know
How does the saying go?

Recipe for a gingerbread house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse
Do you know
How does the saying go?

Stockings hung by the chimney with care
Something about roasting chestnuts there
Do you know
How does the saying go?

Dashing… ore the fields we go
Don’t forget the mistletoe
Do you know
How does the saying go?

We three kings of orient are
Do you see what I see… follow the star
Do you know
How does the saying go?
Rudolph with your nose so bright
With a tail… a tail as long as a kite
Do you know
How does the saying go?
Oh, holy night
May all your Christmases be white
Do you know
How does the saying go?

Better off plowing
Where it’s been snowing
A path to peace
At the very least

LYRICS
The whiteness of the snow, ya know…
Tends to cover the blemish of disaster
Makes one less selfish with the laughter

Are you better off living life
Letting your hourglass sand sieve
Or, giving all you can give

Give of your soul
I want to hear your spirit
Let me hear it
Give of your sole
I want to here your spirit
Come on, here it!

In the sifting sands of man
Doing the best that you can

Forget being a stranger in a distant land
Bring forth your love for all to understand

The cover of the snow, ya know
Let’s the Earth’s spirit grow with glow

LYRICS
Instead of sugar plum fairies and figs
Your vision could be filled with a fag of twigs

Is Krampus amongst us?
Have you been naughty or nice
If Krampus is amongst us…
Better think twice

It won’t be “all is well”
When he scares out the living hell
Scaring out the devil in us
Krampus

Born with goat’s horn
He’s on his way St. Nicholas Day
In his rusty chain you’ll remain
If you don’t refrain from disdain

ABOUT THIS SONG
Chords — Dm
G Em

128 beats per minute with a cowboy hoedown groove.

Daniel — Vocals, Keyboards

The song was inspired by an article in the Christian Science Monitor “Is Krampus the Christmas demon becoming too commercial?

Chains, devil horns, and pitchforks are not things most people associate with the holidays. But for many in the Alpine region of Europe, that’s precisely where Krampus – a half goat, half demon creature, carrying rusty chains and sticks – belongs: in the Christmas season.

Yet some say that the centuries-old European folktale is turning commercial, as Krampus-themed chocolates, decorations, and greeting cards are readily available. Yet at the same time, could he actually be a subversive force for anti-consumerism?

Think of him as the anti-Santa. Krampus – as he is called in his native Austria, though he goes by other names throughout Europe – is St. Nicholas’s helper and his task is to scare small children into being good. On Dec. 6 – the saint’s feast day, or St. Nicholas Day – the pair will dole out chocolates and fruit to good children across Europe, while misbehaving children can expect a punishment instead, usually a bundle of twigs.

Results of a December freeze
Snowflakes dancing in the breeze

A tree topped with an archangel
An opportunity for the gentile

Like kids on a snowday… let’s play

LYRICS
Never sat upon a throne
Never wore a crown
Never called himself King
That’s just the thing

I never called myself King Of The Jew
How about you?

And, how would you
Like a crown of thorn
On your throne
Crucifixion
Soul extinction?
At least not a lone
(He was then crucified and hung between two convicted thieves.)

Hung out to dry
Hung out to die
Hung out
Without doubt

“After being flogged, Jesus was mocked by Roman soldiers as the “King of the Jews”, clothed in a purple robe, crowned with thorns, beaten and spat on. Jesus then had to make his way to the place of his crucifixion.”

He was then crucified and hung between two convicted thieves.
