LYRICS
They use to tune in, turn on
Find out about dropping out
Of the rat race

What’s your case to partake in the rat race?

The movers and shaker
Tend to be the fakers
Not to say we shouldn’t set the pace
Not dead… looking in from outer space

Train your brain for the haze of the maze
Much to our surprise we have x-ray eyes
I can see right through
And, you can, too
X-ray I’s

LYRICS
Soooo….
This guy who told me he’d be Mayor walks by with a smirk on his face
While this other guy walks by as he’s giving me money, says “This is an insult. I wish I had more to give.”

Which way would you want to live?

Which one has better taste
Which one is less a waste
Which one is wasting space

His 2 cents x 8 +1
Where do you want your soul to run
Grow to know the flow… +1

A dime, some time
A nickle (thinkin’ Lincoln)
and my two cents
… two sense

LYRICS
When I stepped outside
… tell ya I ain’t lying…
I really, really, really thought I saw a lion

Chorus
Maybe a figment of my imagination
But certainly not an exaggeration

When I stepped outside
… tell ya it was a jungle…
All this political mumbo jumble

Chorus

When I stepped outside
… tell ya no place to hide…
Spreading diarrhea like some kind of panacea

Chorus

When I stepped outside
… tell ya looked into my hide…
Look deep inside… no place for hate to reside

Chorus

When I stepped outside
… tell ya I ain’t lying…
I really, really, really thought I saw a lion

God bless the world… we sure need some
A dressing of Christmas blessing
For all men

The play has begun. The work is done.
A confessing and a blessing
For all men

God save the scene. It’s grown to mean.
A blessing of peace and understanding
For all men

The play has begun. The curtain hung.
The Age of the “world is a stage”
For all men

What you grow long could get cut short
Live life all along before your abort

No matter your circumstance
You can see it through
Yes splatter your conscious
Just like the morning dew

Sunset scene seen threw [sic] to the sunrise
Arise children of the sun — surmise

Is the end of your beginning the beginning of your end
In the long run, what message will your dust send?

when you’re looking at me, I wonder what you see
Do you see clearly or do you see right through me?

Chorus

The wolf in sheep clothes
Like the night before Christmas… quite as a mouse
Or Halloween… when the dead rose

When you’re thinkin’ ’bout me, I wonder what you know
Do you think clearly? Is that not Possible? No?

Angels sing
A Christmas thing
We’ve got to hail. Shout to hear

An Easter thing
We’ve got to nail out our fear

You’re going to have an impact on the scene
Dream what you mean

There’s a lesson that I need to remember
When everything is falling apart
In life, just like in loving
There’s such a thing as trying to hard

You’ve gotta sing
Like you don’t need the money
Love like you’ll never get hurt
You’ve gotta dance
Like nobody’s watching
It’s gotta come from the heart
If you want it to work.

Return to the age when we were innocent
Let’s set a precedent
We learn to be sage thinking young of age
Turn to the first page

The more you do what you’re told
The more you grow old
Before ya know you’ll try to lie
Taking on more than a bit of hypocrite

The more you conform to the norm
The more you cause harm
You’ll try to get by on the lie
Taking on more than a bit of hypocrite

Serenade / 94 BPM

Written and recorded live in West Chester, Chester County, Pennsylvania, USA. Video features a black cat.

The folklore surrounding black cats varies from culture to culture. The Scottish believe that a strange black cat’s arrival to the home signifies prosperity. In Celtic mythology, a fairy known as the Cat Sìth takes the form of a black cat. Black cats are also considered good luck in Japan. Furthermore, it is believed that a lady who owns a black cat will have many suitors. However, in Western history, black cats have often been looked upon as a symbol of evil omens, specifically being suspected of being the familiars of witches, and so most of Europe considers the black cat a symbol of bad luck, especially if one crosses paths with a person, which is believed to be an omen of misfortune and death. In Germany, some believe that black cats crossing a person’s path from right to left, is a bad omen. But from left to right, the cat is granting favorable times.

The black cat in folklore has been able to change into human shape to act as a spy or courier for witches or demons. When the Pilgrims arrived at Plymouth Rock, they brought with them a devout faith in the Bible. They also brought a deepening suspicion of anything deemed of the devil and were a deeply suspicious group. They viewed the black cat as a companion, or a familiar to witches. Anyone caught with a black cat would be severely punished or even killed. They viewed the black cat as part demon and part sorcery. — Wikipedia

LYRICS
While under the attack of a hawk
I heard a bluejay say, “Squawk!”
As I looked around…
I found… something fishy… wishy-washy

The mirage of camouflage

All the while your style
Appearing perched on the edge of the ledge
Like you might jump at any moment
But, wait a minute!
You mean…
All the while before a blue-screen
I mean
All the while before a green-screen?

The mirage of camouflage

Gonna call your bluff
On crying “wolf”
Gonna chill your marrow
When you discover you’re really in peril
You’ve become sterile
So much for tomorrow

Chorus
When you hide behind a veil
Don’t you think it’ll pale
In comparison
When you scream to no avail
You’ve come to the end of the rail (trail)
Feel compression

If you fail to inhale
How to compare a breath of fresh air
Becoming a soiled thing

Chorus
