Beyond the envelope
Unlocks
Outside the box
Given the depth and scope
Unbind
Your mind
We can find the time
To be kind

Inside the interlope
Unlocks
The paradox
Given the depth and scope
Unbind
Your mind
We can find the time
To be kind

At the end of the rope?
Unlock
Outside the box
Given the depth and scope
Unbind
Your mind
Envision death, say nope
Unwind
Your mind
We can find the time
To be kind

LYRICS
Search for the words
Put down the swords
The sounds of birds
Enchanting
It won’t be long
Till their songs are gone

To right our wrong
De-Man-ding
The thorns of the thistle
Set scorn with a bristle
Grasp the wasp’s stinger
To feel poison linger
The snake mistake
Men take in their own venom
Should have seen it comin’
These stories I can not make
As we watch Man overtake
Epic fail
Overtakes his own tail
Epic fail
Swallowing his own tale

This is a song about Man’s worst enemy — Man. In July of 2023 we wrote the paper, Climate Change: End of Times.

All of my life I have located my office and bedrooms in the uppermost southern exposure (preferably in the tree canopy.) I love sunlight, elevation, trees, fresh air, and wildlife. It is becoming ever more obvious my dreamlife is coming to an end, and I will be forced to tunnel under. For those forward thinkers, think about your poop. Pumping sewage above ground level will be a major problem at all times. In addition, the inability to pump flood water will become deadly during extreme weather events. In July of 2020 NPR reported, “The remnants of Hurricane Ida dropped unprecedented rainfall on several eastern states, killing dozens of people. Eleven of them were Queens residents who died when their basement apartments flooded.” In August of 2022 CNN reported, “Seoul has vowed to move some of the city’s poorest families out of underground and semi-subterranean homes after 13 people were killed in flooding caused by record rainfall this week, sparking public horror and calls for government accountability.” Drowning in your own poop may result for those unprepared.

Fresh air, water, food, and light will also be problematic; however, your most severe concern will likely be security. Those with supplies will be at high risk of being raped and looted. Good luck!

Train of thought
Get ‘er running
Hey, why not
Make it stunning?
Let’s see if Man can
Start again
After we bring The End
Begin

Jumped the tracks
With their facts
Runaway train
Of harebrained
Let’s see if Man can
Start again
After we bring The End
Begin

Off the rails
Rides collide
Tattered sails
Crew divides
Let’s see if Man can
Start again
After we bring The End
Begin

All our trains of thought
Have come to their final stop
The last station on the line
Damnation of our time
Let’s see if Man can
Start again
After we bring The End
Begin

LYRICS
Out the southern exposure
A clear sky is on the make
While northern low pressure
Gives fear as it overtakes
In the middle
Of in between
Twist and meddle
A peaceful scene
Birds take flight toward the light
As men learn to fly… or die
My, oh, my
Do or die?
Touch the sky
Or kneel and cry?

In the middle
Of in between
Twist and meddle
A peaceful scene
Birds take flight toward the light
As men learn to fly… or die
When pigs grow wings
… and other things
(I’m flyyying)

Trying to maintain the harebrained
Harder and harder to sustain
Regain
The strength in our numbers
Woke the giant who slumbers
Today it’s best to run away
Due to our ignorance
Of our arrogance
I’d say today
It’s best to run away (run away!)

Fact of the matter
We’re deep in sheep
And that flock of sheep is in deep sleep
Bo-Peep?
[Little Bo-Peep has lost her sheep and doesn’t know where to find them.]
The strength in our numbers
Woke the wolf who slumbers
Today it’s best to run away
Due to our ignorance
Of our arrogance
I’d say today
It’s best to run away (run away!)

Could it be a lemming conspiracy?
“Follow me into catastrophe”
Into the sea!
The strength in our numbers
Woke the rodent who slumbers
Today it’s best to run away
Due to our ignorance
Of our arrogance
I’d say today
It’s best to run away (run away!)

How long do you think we can all live
When all there is is take and no give
At first it was hard to conceive
Then, it was hard to believe

How long do you think there’s left to live
When we squandered what’s meant to give
At first it was hard to conceive
Then, it was hard to believe
Man’s gumption
For consumption

What are the odds that your gods
Forgive your debts let alone regrets?
Our dues past due
What shall we do
Our past, rear-view
Welcome to our big ta-do
Too

At first it was hard to conceive
Then, it was hard to believe
Man’s gumption

LYRICS
Oh, Baby
Can’t you see
It’s not the heat
It’s the humidity
(Likely both to some degree)
Need to cool down
Find out how to dry things out
Drowning in drought
Bound…
… to cool things down
Saturation seeks evaporation
Got to sweat it out

Oh, Baby, can you believe
There’s no belief we’ll get relief
Found we’ve unwound
Need to cool down
Find out how to dry things out
Drowning in drought
Bound…
… to cool things down
Saturation seeks evaporation
Got to sweat it out

Though heat is hot
It’s not all we’ve got
There’s plenty of humidity
Pushin’ up “feels like” degree
Need to cool down
Find out how to dry things out
Drowning in drought
Bound…
… to cool things down
Saturation seeks evaporation
Got to sweat it out
Saturation in need of evaporation
About “sweat it out”

During July of 2023, much of the world was suffering through a heatwave. June and July saw hundreds of new record temperatures. Some of the days were also extremely humid. Humidity is the amount of water vapor in the atmosphere.

Sweating is essential to cooling down when hot weather causes the body temperature to climb. “Sweat is one of the main ways the body cools itself. But on a humid day, sweat has a harder time evaporating into the air.’ In high humidity, the air is already nearly full of water vapor and can’t hold any more. “That’s where the hot, sticky feeling comes from,” explains Dr. Benjamin of Health Partners.

When water evaporates, it turns from liquid to a gas which requires the transfer of a huge amount of energy. In our experiment from 2003 “The Waterfall House” and “The Economics of Turning Water Into Electricity“, Sidd found, “for every cubic foot of water that evaporated it took 61000 BTU with it.”

Off you go

The lies you’re peddling
Got to go

Broke their lease
Now they’re on their way
Far away
Hope life won’t cease
Our cares are least
We’re on our way

About the Song

In June of 2023, we were discussing animal agriculture, carbon offsets and sequestration, planting trees, and greenwashing. I asked, “Is it a mistake for us to even suggest staying under 1.5 C is a possibility?” Sidd replied, “1.5 C is in the rear view mirror these days.”

During the first week of July 2023, the Earth had the hottest days ever.

How long is “ever”… as in “the hottest it’s ever been in recorded history”?

Humans are about 200,000 years old with our closest variety being dated to about 140,000 years ago. The earliest “recording of history” is approximately 100,000 years old. It is the story of The Seven Sisters of The Pleiades. The Seven Sister are a cluster of stars in the Taurus constellation. There are six stars visible to the naked eye. The story is about seven stars. The seventh star has not been visible to the naked eye for over 100,000 years.

The 20th-century surface temperature average for Earth was 13.9 °C.
In July of 2023 we are seeing average temperatures of 17°C.

Q: Is it possible for humans to push the temperature 3 °C above pre-industrial levels?
A: Yes. Humans have pushed global temperatures up more than 3 °C.

Q: Is it possible for humans to survive at temperatures greater than 3 °C?
A: Probably not long. Humans have never done it before.

Extreme weather will become more frequent and intense. Sea levels will rapidly rise as the coasts disappear. However, the most concerning development will be feedback loops. Plants and other carbon sinks will disappear. The Earth’s temperature will continue to accelerate at an exponential rate no matter what humans do. Food, fresh water, and breathable air will cease to exist. Humans will likely follow in short order.

“The increasing heating of our planet caused by fossil fuel use is not unexpected, it was predicted already in the 19th century after all,” said climate scientist Stefan Rahmstorf at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Research in Germany. “But it is dangerous for us humans and for the ecosystems we depend on. We need to stop it fast.”

This is our current situation. Not “years away”. Not tomorrow. Today.

Stop burning fossil fuels today, stop exploiting hydrocarbons today, or else….
