bookmark_borderTime Travel (aka Leap Second)

LYRICS
Wait a second?
I can’t wait a second
’cause I reckon
The Earth is slowing down
It’s been found
The Earth is slowing down
From going ’round

Leap a second
And before long
A second second
Thus this song
The Earth is slowing down
It’s been found
The Earth is slowing down
From going ’round

The spinoff of taking a spin off
You scoff?
Well, do you wanna get off?
’cause
The Earth is slowing down
It’s been found
The Earth is slowing down
From going ’round

It’s that mean solar time
Or UT1
Try to coordinate Universal time
Or UTC
And I for one can see
You won’t even give away
The time of day
No way

The Earth is slowing down
It’s been found
The Earth is slowing down
From going ’round

ABOUT THE SONG
Style: ExperiMental Music
Chords: E B E –> 7th fret and slide down to E
Recording: digital 8-track stereo recorded live

This song is about the Earth slowing down. Why is the Earth slowing down?
The Earth is slowing down and speeding up for many reasons. In general, the Earth is slowing down it’s rotation due to friction. The wind and the oceans and mountains, tides and gravity cause friction that slows an object in motion.

A leap second is a one-second adjustment that is occasionally applied to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) in order to keep its time of day close to the mean solar time, or UT1. Without such a correction, time reckoned by Earth’s rotation drifts away from atomic time because of irregularities in the Earth’s rate of rotation. Since this system of correction was implemented in 1972, 27 leap seconds have been inserted, the most recent on December 31, 2016 at 23:59:60 UTC.

So, every once in a while humans travel a second forward in time. “Specifically, a positive leap second is inserted between second 23:59:59 of a chosen UTC calendar date (the last day of a month, usually June 30 or December 31) and second 00:00:00 of the following date.”

Why is the moon falling farther away from us?

The migration of the Moon away from the Earth is mainly due to the action of the Earth’s tides. The Moon is kept in orbit by the gravitational force that the Earth exerts on it, but the Moon also exerts a gravitational force on our planet and this causes the movement of the Earth’s oceans to form a tidal bulge.

Daniel: Chapter 12

The End Of Times
At that time… there will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then…. Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.

Please, Turn Up The Love.mp3

LYRICS
Shine, shine, shine
Shine, shine, shine
Turn up the love
Be a shining star
Shining from above
Shine like the stars
With the love that is ours
Please grant me some wisdom
Bring on the Kingdom
That shines like the brightness
(Brightness) Of the heavens
Like the stars for ever and ever
Love is our endeavor
The playing field evens
When you shine, shine, shine
(With the volume of love)
Shine, shine, shine
Shine, shine, shine
Turn up the love

Shine, shine, shine
A mighty fine shine
The brilliance of the brilliance
Giving love a chance
There’s wisdom in the brilliance
Of the brilliance of brilliance
Singing the virtues of the love dance
Shine, shine, shine
Shine, shine, shine
Turn up the love
Shine, shine, shine

There’s a lot of space
In the human race
Fill it full of love
Of love, love, love
Shine, shine, shine
Shine, shine, shine
Turn up the love
Shine, shine, shine
Shine, shine, shine
Shine, shine, shine

LYRICS
You send some shivers
Up and down my spine
And I don’t mind

It’s kind-of like love
Coming down from above
I’m not fickle
About the tickle
When you’re sending shivers up and down my spine
I don’t mind
I find it rather kind

You send some shivers
Up and down my spine
And I don’t mind

LYRICS
Ain’t seen it before

Just when I thought I couldn’t see any more
Low and behold… what walks through the door?
Ain’t seen it before

Your faith’s been ripped
Your beliefs’ been tore
Too much political blood and gore
Ain’t seen it before

There’s the ____________ (fill in a political office)
Acting the whore
How much more do we need to endure?
Ain’t seen it before

There’s the rat bastard
At the backdoor
Trying to break in
And steal some more
Evil and rotten to the core
Ain’t seen it before

LYRICS
I dream of a land
Where they understand
What it means
To command
The scenes
Free of obscenes
From see to shining see

Wanna live in a land
Where they understand
How to think
A reprimand
To the stink
No more fires fanned

You can’t fight fire with fire
Without causing a burn
You can’t fight fire with fire
When will we learn

Anticipate
I can hardly wait
Let the horses out of the gate
Solid to liquid state
Let the flow go
Turn on the spigot
And kick it
Kick it up
Kick it out
Kick it into gear
Hold on for your life so dear
The future is near

Anticipate
I can hardly wait
Not up for a debate
Liquid to gaseous state
Let the flow go
I mean more steam
Let’s pick it
Kick it up
Kick it out
Kick it into gear
Hold on for your life so dear
The end is near

LYRICS
You want it? You got it!
Like never before
You want it? You got it!
But still wanting more

Be careful what you wish for
Is it something you can endure

Chorus

You pray for rain
Until you stand in mud
Here comes the flood
Did you pray for a drain?

Chorus

You pray for rain
You pray, you pray in vain
You keep raising the stakes
’till the levee breaks
It’s not sane

LYRICS
Be
Be it what it may
For it surely may be
Maybe

The phrase ‘Be That as it May’ means even if what you say is true.

The idiom ‘be that as it may’ is English in origin, dating back to Geoffrey Chaucer’s time, when it appeared as ‘Be as be may.’ In Old English, ‘mæg’ meant ‘am able’ as the verb ‘may’ does today. The term was also used in Old English as an auxiliary of prediction.
