Busking Permit
Busking Permit

LYRICS
I got a permit to carry my axe
Now going out and have some attacks
Allowed to sing and dance some, too
Now the question is, “How about you?”
Got your permit?
We’ll get lit!
Got your permit?
Let’s get lit!
Got your permit?
Come get lit!
Got your permit?
Get you permit
You better make it quick

Do some magic that’s really slick
Rabbit from a hat… or slight-of-hand trick
I might recite while fire juggling
Thespian, asked again, “Are you acting?”

I might read what I write
Then play it right into the night
Draw with chalk on the sidewalk
Now I’ve a permit, they can’t balk
Got your permit?
We’ll get lit!
Got your permit
Let’s get lit!
Got your permit?
Get you permit
You better make it quick

LYRICS
First ya think it’ll never
Then it comes together
Determination for soul-ution
First ya think it’ll never
Then it comes together
Eradication of pollution

What the heck
Better hit the deck
It’s a war zone
911 on the phone
Still, he won’t leave me alone
The lights are on but no one’ home

Thorn in lion’s paw
Mouse takes out in awe
Determination of solution
First ya think it’ll never
Then it comes together
Determination for soul-ution

Just as well
Damned to hell
Now the scene
We shall clean
Sooner or later everything passes
Even for the biggest asses

LYRICS
I got it
I get it
Don’t ever forget it
I got it
I get it
You’ll come to regret it
I got it
I get it
Don’t ever forget it

If you don’t mend your way
All the lies that you say
Redemption you can’t pray
Until your dieing day

Repeat Verse

If you don’t face the fact
Perjury’s an illegal attack
If you don’t face the fact
The lies you can’t take back

Repeat Verse

LYRICS
Never been in this place before
So close to the edge
The outcome… unsure
Never been in this space before
So close to the judge
The vision a blur

What the hell are we doing
Pollution
Suing
De-evolution pursuing
Solution avoidance
Despite evidence
Wipe-out existence

The minds that shine will shine, shine, shine
But
Never been to this place
To history trace
The accumulation of the humanization blunders
Then… as one… wonders
What the hell are we doing
Pollution
Suing
De-evolution pursuing
Solution avoidance
Despite evidence
Wipe-out existence

Please… don’t wipe-out existence

Though it was unintended, the music ended up being inspired by the Kinks’ David Watts. The idea is kind-of like David Watts, too… I wish I could be like David Watts. I wish I could be smart enough… to get through to the people… that don’t care about other people. What the hell are we doing?
.
Written and recorded on October 1, 2012 at Marsh Creek State Park and other locations in Chester County, Pennsylvania… on an 8-track digital recorder. 2 tracks as stereo guitar (first with no effects, then effects followed by Capo 2 with effects). 2 tracks as stereo vocals. 1 backing vocal with a bullhorn effect. 1 backing vocal with Darth Vader effect. The six tracks were mixed down onto the remaining 2 tracks.
