LYRICS
You may want to be careful with what it is you say
For a fool blurts it out removing all doubt
A mother would always say
“If you don’t have anything nice to say,
Don’t say anything at all.”
Subtle as a cannon ball
Why not just give way…
Save it for another day

Time to get back to schoolin’ for foolin’
Prompt something kind to come to mind
Thennnn… shout it out
That’s what I’m talkin’ about

What the world needs today is a lil’ more love
Let’s see if we all can rise above
Put more sanity into our reality
And, see shining from sea to shining sea
(shining from sea to shining see shining from sea to shining see)

LYRICS
I hear you want to change their point-of-view
So they’ve set-up a special day just for you

We’ll be in tune
None too soon

What’s up with perplex
It’s not about sex
No sense filling your plate
With all that hate

Please don’t hesitate
Let love alleviate

LYRICS
Umh? Yeah! Umh? Yeah!
It’s a celebration
A commemoration
Of comradaration
Ugh huh!

Philly Folk Fest
Destination
Like no other
Memories etched
Not just the jest
It’s the love that5’s best
A community
Camaraderie
Pleasantry

The only way to recognize our uniform
It’s torn
From the battles
We’ve won

Comradaration
Celebration
Fascination
With elevation
Of imagination
A new suggestion
Comradaration

Sensation
Elevation
Beautification
Spiritualization

I’ve got some friends
I’d like you to know
So, let’s get up…
Get up and go

These are the kind of people
Though they don’t congregate
Under a steeple
They help the light shine
The light shine
Shine on and on and on

These people I call friends
Most of them are true
Until the end
Though you know
How things can go
A friend can turn
Into foe
Just so you know

Let the light shine

As far as I know
These are the people
That you want to know
The kind-of friend
You want to the bitter end

Let the light shine on and on and on

So, if you’re not too busy
If you’re not feeling over worked
If you won’t be a complete idiot jerk
I’ll show to some good, good friends
You can be a good, good friend
To the bitter, bitter end

It’s the least I can do
Now that I know you

If it seems you’re day isn’t quite fulfilling
How’s this for gelling
These friends can show ya how to be groovin’
When you get together
It’s like heaven

It’s not a lesson in forgiving
It’s more about believing
In one another
Like sister and brother
Like mother or father
Like son or daughter

This post is about Notes Of A Tunesmith

Writtin’ music and performing is an interesting thing… that I love to do.

Today, a lady came and had me take money she offered. She said there was too much fighting. Maybe music can substitute?

It’s weird how that works.

The other day a youth brought me a Rita’s waterice. A few days before that the owner of “The World’s Largest Pizza” gave me a slice for playing my guitar.

Song Title: Back Stabbers
Made famous by The O’Jays
Cover version is simply a Mess

(What they do!)
(They smile in your face)
All the time they want to take your place
The back stabbers (back stabbers)
(They smile in your face)
All the time they want to take your place
The back stabbers (back stabbers)
All you fellows who have someone and you really care, yeah, yeah
Then it’s all of you fellows who better beware, yeah yeah
Somebody’s out to get your lady
A few of your buddies they sure look shady
Blades are long, clenched tight in their fist
Aimin’ straight at your back
And I don’t think they’ll miss
(What they do!)
(They smile in your face)
All the time they want to take your place
The back stabbers (back stabbers)
I keep gettin’ all these visits from my friends, yeah, what they doin to me
They come to my house again and again and again and again, yeah
So are they there to see my woman
I don’t even be home but they just keep on comin’
What can I do to get on the right track
I wish they’d take some of these knives off my back
(They smile in your face)
All the time they want to take your place
The back stabbers (back stabbers)
Low down… dirty…
(What they do!)
(They smile in your face)
Smiling faces… smiling faces sometimes tell lies (Back stabbers)
(They smile in your face)
I don’t need… low down, dirty bastards (Back stabbers)

XX (aka peter’d out and double crossed)

Have you ever had a friend,
That petered out?
Is that how you found out,
What they-r ‘ll about?

Have you ever been double crossed?
Stiffed? Stuffed? Stripped?
Have you ever been double crossed?
Mished. Mashed. Messed.

Too bad for their fate,
But, don’t let it get you irate!
Better to find out,
What they-r ‘ll about,
Before it’s too late,
And, they castrate…
Berate… degenerate.

Noooo… I choose to create!

Give ’em enough rope,
To prove their scope,
They define:
Lifeline?
Or, is their definition too loose,
As they build (fasten) their own noose?

Have you ever had a friend,
That petered out?
Is that how you found out,
What they-r ‘ll about?

Have you ever been double crossed?
Stiffed? Stuffed? Stripped?
Have you ever been double crossed?
Mished. Mashed. Messed.
