LYRICS
Chorus
Hey! I just wanted to say
It’s a perfect day

As you hurry along your way
Can you pause long enough to play
As you scramble through the day
Can you cause long enough to stay

Chorus

As you scurry along your way
Did you does serve to purvey
As you ramble… talking away
Will your good deeds far outweigh

Chorus

As you worry about your pay
Does the stress cause decay
As you gamble action replay
Will your soul wilt, wither… fray

Hey! I just wanted to say
Hope you enjoy every single day

LYRICS
What do you know that is good?
What are you going to do for food
In your neighborhood?

What is good that you know?
When it comes to knowledge
Where you gonna go?

Who’s your friend? Who’s your foe?
Who is driving the wedge
Between yes and no?

What is good that you know?
Gonna live by the sword…
Die by the plow?

Writing a Monsanto Protest Song in West Chester, PA
Writing a Monsanto Protest Song in West Chester, PA

ABOUT THIS SONG
At one of my usual haunts for writing music, I had begun a songwriting session… when, a group of people started gathering around me. It appeared as though my “office” had become the site of a Monsanto protest.

So, I figured I’d write this song about it; however, I didn’t have a title. As I went to record the a video of the music, an alarm went off. It seemed to fit. Thus, the name of the song.

Gonna go, gonna go
To the land of the double rainbow
Just follow the leprechaun
If you can

Twice as many
Pots o’ gold
Or at least
That’s what I’m told

Chorus

Where the children glow
And, the people know
Did you hear
It’s right here

Chorus

No, don’t let it disappear
I know the end
Is near

Again and again
If over dressed
Thank God, it’s within

Stylishly sassy
For celebration

LYRICS
Eighty-one degrees
When you’re sitting under the trees
Not even a hint of a cool, cool breeze

Thawing the perma-freeze
Deforestation, our own worst enemy
The human blight on serenity

How long will we go on
Until we stop, stop, stop?
How long will go on
Until we drop, drop, drop?

ABOUT THE SONG

This song is about global warming and a hot, humid day in early May. When my kids were very young, we considered buying a vacation house in Florida. I warned them that climate change would turn Pennsylvania into a Florida house by the time they had grandchildren. I was wrong. Today, Pennsylvania is turning tropical in May.

LYRICS
Starting to think
’bout being in the pink
Waist deep in Spring
Summer’s approaching

Starting to ponder
What it means to wonder
Waste deep in Spring
Summer’s sizzling in

The climate, she’s a changing
Permanent as benevolence
Stalemate forever enduring
Arrogant as irreverence

This song is about the lack of Spring caused by global warming. All the pink cherry blossoms have fallen off the trees and are about “waste deep”.

While I was writing this song, local artist John Hannafin stopped. He had painted a picture of the blossoming trees and wanted to know if he could paint me in.

LYRICS
How bad do you want it?
How hard will you strive to thrive?
Are you even alive?
Is it your spirit you’re gonna deprive?

Spending every day as though it’s your last
Is the best way to pass to the past
Filling everybody with “know” and you’ll last
As long as there’s memories to grasp

An oral tradition of endless relation revelation

LYRICS
“Thank you, Sir!”
I really want to thank you, Sir

When you were sitting there sipping your coffee
I didn’t know if you were even aware of me
Then, when it was time for you to go
Wouldn’t you know…
You got up and said, “Thank you, Sir”
I really want to thank you, Sir

“Thank you, Sir”
I really want to thank you, Sir

When you were driving down the street in your Jeep
You gave a shout out that I want to keep
Thumbs up, “Keep it up!”
“Thank you, Sir”
I really want to thank you, Sir

Thank You Sir.mp3

ABOUT THE SONG
This song was inspired by a writing session in Ambler, PA. While I was playing the guitar, there was a female sitting across the street at Maida coffee. She turned into the first verse. Then as I was writing the first verse, another female came driving by… she is the second verse. Thanks girls!

LYRICS
She spent the money
You know she spent the money

So, she could hire an esquire
To acquire what the children desire to aspire

She spent the money
You know she spent the money

Way less than being funny
More akin to a pitiful soul, Honey

She spent the money
You know she spent the money

Instead of getting baby new shoes
She went to the spa and got hairdos

She spent the money
You know she spent the money

When it was time for the kids to be fed
When it was time for the kids to be bed
When it was time for the kids further Ed.
She misled with all she did and said

Going on a fancy vacation
By robbing the kids’ fund for education
Riding in a fancy automobile
Acting like a real big deal
At the expense of your offspring?
Heaven only knows what that will bring

The words for the verse are crucial
And, I’m trying to figure it out

The chords for the chorus… revolution
And, I’m trying to hammer it out

Please let what they sing ring
Throughout the land
Please let what they play say
We understand

No need to rehearse. This crucible
Is sure to fire things up
The power of love is critical
The volume it’s time to turn up

LYRICS
Some people think, as they should
Then, act upon it real good
Without too much talk, talk, talk
Come on, Baby, let’s walk, walk, walk

No, you don’t need a chain holding you back
Try the love of a freedom attack

Some people do, as they cold
Then, follow through real good
Without too much bulk hulk sulk
Come on, Baby, let’s leave the dock

No you don’t need a rope holding you back
See what lover comes to fill any lack

While I was writing this song, I noticed some strange activities going on around me. There was a plain clothes detective, an old man and what appeared to be a prostitute. The police officer walked past me and around the corner. The prostitute got out of her car and into the car with the old man. After they drove off, the detective re-appeared from around the corner and drove the prostitute’s car away.

bookmark_borderThe But, Butt Song

LYRICS
Here comes one walkin’ the dog
There’s one struttin’ outta the fog
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle a little bit
But, but, but, but, but, butt

People to the left
Talkin’bout black
People to the right
Talkin’bout white
Are people deft
On the attack
In spite of spite
Move to all right, alright?!?!

From the feet up the leg
Or, the head down the back
For more n’ more n’ more I beg
You know I love. A natural fact

People to the left
Talkin’bout black
People to the right
Talkin’bout white
From the feet up the leg
Or, the head down the back
We meet at the butt, but…
Sorry, I didn’t mean to make an ass of myself

Chords — Capo 2
Em walked down from top

A 1-track stereo recording made in the USA (West Chester, Chester County, Pennsylvania, United States of America.)

The song was inspired while sitting on the wall of the Courthouse and writing music. A couple young black “rappers” came and sat next to me on my left. Then, a white “cowboy” came and stood to my right. While I played the guitar, they started rapping back and forth at/with each other; however, despite our differences, we all agreed about the anatomy of the females that were walking by.
