Shark swimming in the streets of Margate, NJ during Hurricane Sandy:

LYRICS
Devastating.
The scene…
Devastated.
Do you devastate?

Some irate primate altered our state.

Nevertheless,
We found a way to make music play

As if God added an eighth day

The New Old Part 2.mp3

ABOUT THE SONG
Dub Step

Written and recorded on October 7 and 30, 2012 in West Chester, Pennsylvania. I found the basic track on the digital recorded. It must have been left over from the October 7 recording session. Since the name of the album is The New Old, I added some lyrics about Hurricane Sandy. She pretty much re-arranged the old into the new normal. And, though it was a devastating event, there was a silver lining to the storm. It was if God created an eighth day in the week filled with the comfort of music.

Oh, yeah… the part about the irate primate… that is anyone who has helped create the Frankenstorm… that is anyone who has contributed to volatile weather through human induced climate change.

LYRICS
Raise your stein to Frankenstorm
The lessons that we all can learn
Drink. Drink. Drink! A toast to Sandy
Civilization on the verge of insanity

Call in the cows from the farm
Less they be Wizard-of-Oz airborne
Drink. Drink. Drink! A toast to Sandy
Civilization on the verge of insanity

Life threatening. Light Thundering.
Strife rendering. Right bewildering.

LYRICS
On display at a vanity fair
Not sure if you’re aware
On display at a vanity fair
Not sure you’re even there

Is your mirror on straight
Or, is that your crooked smile
Your pompousness just can’t wait
And, the crooked smile could use a file
The indifferent or punishing look
Shows a streak of mean style
Using every stinkin’ dirty trick in the book
Good luck, Baby… lookin’ forward to your trial

No need to strain for you to be vain

On display at a vanity fair
Not sure if you’re aware
On display at a vanity fair
Not sure you’re even there

LYRICS
I’ve been using gravity to make do
Since before I was two
Oh, yeah… and, I’ve been using friction, too
To save me from the mountain dew
Soooooo
There’s quite a bit you can do
A super, natural hero

Roll with the role of the magnetic pole
An attraction to you
Or, maybe you want to try and repel
You can do it just as well
The solution once you are in motion
Just add a little of your friction
No fool… you’ve got fuel and oxygen
Now, we’re on fire once again
Soooooo
There’s quite a bit you can do
A super, natural hero

LYRICS
“Meet the new boss… same as the old boss”
Don’t leave your fate to destiny
Influence the coin toss
Don’t live you life in misery
Go for the gain. Avoid the loss.
Not just for you
But, for those beyond your point-of-view

“Meet the new boss… same as the old boss”
Elevate your fate
And balance the scales
Calming the irate
Putting wind in your sails
Not just for you
But, for those beyond your point-of-view

ABOUT THE SONG

C / E / F / G / C

Written and recorded October 8, 2012 in West Chester, Pennsylvania. It starts with a line from The Who’s Won’t Get Fooled Again as it fit in so well with the title of the album The New Old. Don’t be fooled. You have free will. Please choose your destiny while considering the impact on everyone… even those beyond your point-of-view — “the who”.

LYRICS
When we started to count, we went from 0 to 1
By the way, this was way, way back in the day
Then in the modern day, we found a way
To make music play
Putting bits and bytes to websites
In binary… in fact, back to the very…
0’s and 1’s

Come in from the cold
It’s the new old
Just when you thought out was sold
Come in for some new old

[I can’t get no satisfaction. She’s a daytripper, yeah!]

Can you see
Paper comes from a tree
Moses’ new commandments were carved in some very old stone
Our new condiments were made from mature… more than an instance
Even the telephone, TV and computer come from regurgitated ideas
So, before making a stance…
On creativity…
Before raising fears
Let’s see how much original
Is left in us all

Besides, a zero isn’t much of anything
Let’s try something new… invigorating

People Getting Grooved at the Paoli, PA Blues Festival

LYRICS
I went to a blues festival
But, it was too sad
Then, I saw some heavy metal
They were too, too mad

May the music move you
Any which way
May the music move you
Every which way
So long as you are grooved

When I went to see some county
It was paved over
Then I went to see classic rock
It was a poor pour [Fab-4] cover (let it flow)

May the music move you
Any which way
May the music move you
Every which way
So long as you are grooved

ABOUT THE SONG
E / A / G / E
E / D

Written and recorded in Paoli, PA and West Chester, PA on October 6, 2012. I stared thinking about the term BluesFest. It kind-of felt like an oxymoron. Ya, know… “Festival Of Sadness”. So, it’s a tongue-in-cheek song about music moving people. Whatever music moves you, may you be moved. In fact, when it’s all said and done… I hope you are grooved from the experience.
