LYRICS
It’s a long ride ’till the end of the road
Sure hoping my patience won’t explode
Saw a sign up ahead… read what it said
“Home is here… or wherever you make your bed”

Lay your head

Their endless loop of confusion
A contusion
End fruitless loops of confusion
Begin enthusiasm

Lay your head

Get Your Cowboy Hat and Ride.mp3

LYRICS
The other day, a friend called and asked about getting a cowboy hat….

Headed to Virginia for a cowboy hat
If I can’t secure it, ain’t coming back
Going to Virginia for a cowboy hat
Pennsylvania, I love ya
But, that is that

Put a cap on it before I lose my head
Let’s rap this up and put it to bed

Said, Head to Virginia don’t come back
’till you acquire a cowboy hat
Pennsylvania, see ya… though where ever I may roam
Don’t you know you’re always going to be my home

Writing the Song Super Natural Hero

LYRICS
I’ve been using gravity to make do
Since before I was two
Oh, yeah… and, I’ve been using friction, too
To save me from the mountain dew
Soooooo
There’s quite a bit you can do
A super, natural hero

Roll with the role of the magnetic pole
An attraction to you
Or, maybe you want to try and repel
You can do it just as well
The solution once you are in motion
Just add a little of your friction
No fool… you’ve got fuel and oxygen
Now, we’re on fire once again
Soooooo
There’s quite a bit you can do
A super, natural hero

Songwriting In The Cascades, BIacksburg, Virginia

LYRICS
The quite chill of an autumn morning
The lichen might consider quite trite
But, the human glare finds it worthwhile to stare
As the fluid cascades amongst the solid
The sunlight cascades over the mountain top
Spilling colors of every hue

Any man must stop to ponder what it is we did
Every man must stop to wonder the wonder if we stop
Look what progress did to the fish
Look what our standard of living has lost
Look what it is we do
Maybe we should be careful for what we wish
Open our eyes. Open our ears. Heed the warning…
Before the waterfalls fall

LYRICS
Imagine all the heroes
Getting together
From zero
Hero + hero + hero + hero….
The sum of the parts
Results in the hearts
Of the super heroes

Oh oh oh oh oh oh
We come to know
Superhero

Imagine all the zeros
Adding up to more than nothing
Imagine all the humans
In perfect harmony as they sing

Chorus

Baby birds flapping their wings
Parting with land
As they understand
How to fly
As they understand… why

LYRICS
The graduate
Moving up the ladder a bit
The graduate
Rung by rung
The world’s stage
Your skit

The graduate
Moving up the ladder a bit

The ruler of time
Measures your age
The impact you make
Whether you’re a hit

The graduate
Moving up the ladder a bit

The ruler of time
Deems you — sage
The more you create
The brighter you lit
The graduate
Moving up the ladder a bit

ABOUT THE SONG

Written at Virginia Tech on graduation day 2012… as I watched people in cap and gown getting down.

bookmark_borderAudience Appreciation Index

It has been quite some time since I’ve posted about the Tunesmith Adventures. That doesn’t mean I haven’t been thoroughly enjoying the audiences. I have been. Though I would like to film more of the adventures, live subjects can be tricky.

Anyway, the audiences have been great. One of my favorite times was in the Spring of 2011. I was sitting at the corner of Ridge and Butler in Ambler, Pennsylvania. A school bus with tinted windows stopped at the light in front of me. I thought the bus was empty and just kept playing my heart away. All of a sudden, a bunch of the windows opened and all these kids started screaming and clapping. Wow! What a thrill.

Nick Does a Flip While I Play Jigging Music

Speaking of thrills, there seems to be an outbreak of people inspired to do *human tricks* whenever I start playing my jigging music. The Spring of 2012 has brought many a thrill seeker. Several interesting characters have co-operated in West Chester, Pennsylvania to bring great entertainment to the people. There is a guy that likes to do bike tricks over my head… and another fellow, Nick, who likes to do flips and jumps off the adjacent wall… sometimes it will just be a group of children ranging in ages from 2 to 92 that breakout into a spontaneous dance troupe. You all are more fun than Vaudeville, a sideshow, and a 3-ring circus all rolled into one.

I thank each and every one of you. From those who come up because they feel compelled to offer me money, to those who roll down their windows shouting out with a wave and a smile — THANK YOU!

Sincerely,
Daniel Brouse

Follow back

What is it we’re trying to make
A giant quake to obliterate the meek
Seek the source of the fault line
