LYRICS
How many waves have crashed upon the beach
Is the number within reach
Like the ocean, the questions run deep

How close are you sitting to the sun
Does it feel so close that it’s got you on the run
Take the leap into questions running deep

If you can talk the talk
You can walk i on the boardwalk
Let your guitar do the talking
Feet dancing… forget the walking

How many tides have been high
Take a guess… go ahead n’ try
Memories you keep of questions running deep

Then, maybe you might know
How many tides have been low
Like the ocean, the questions run deep

LYRICS
When you catch a wave
You feel the gush of the rush
Behave with the wave
You feel the rush of the gush

The flush of the ocean
Will put on on the beach
The push of the ocean
The sea will see you on the beach

The tide rolls in
The tide rolls out
There’s no doubt
Rock n’ rollin’

LYRICS
Can you feel the heart pounding
Can you sense the blood flow
Hear the guitar sounding
As you get to know know

A splinter of sunlight just might…
… set it right

Can you feel the pulse;s throb
Twist the mental’s doorknob
Grasp the gravity of our longevity
Distinguish between infinity and immortality

A splinter of sunlight just might…
… set it right

As we sit and stare into the thin air
Have we a care there’s so much more out there
If we were to look out for the lookout
Maybe we’d grasp what it’s all about

A splinter of sunlight just might…
… set it right

When you find your legs ache
Because you want to shake
For the music to take
You away today
You know…
You can just get the go
Get up and go
Get the go

When your told “break a leg”
It’s for luck they beg
Go ahead and play
Play today away
No piper to pay
You away today
You know…
You can just get the go
Get up and go

LYRICS
No matter the tribulation
No, no matter the trial
Merely your suggestion
Brings on a mile wide smile

You saving grace
You bring a smile to my face

Under the situation
Of you playing guitar
The jubilation
Toward a smile goes far

You saving grace
You bring a smile to my face

If only the population
Would yell more, more, more
The spiritual elevation
Will bring on smiles for sure

You saving grace
You bring a smile to my face

ABOUT THE SONG
Chords — E A E
Bm7 A E

Written in Ambler, PA and recorded at Fort Washington State Park in Ft. Washington, Montgomery County, PA. The live version was recorded by Jon at the Jon Sherling Studios in Mount Laural, NJ.

The inspiration came as I sat on a bench in Ambler, PA trying to think of a song to play on stage that night. When I started writing the music on an acoustic guitar, I look up and saw a face smiling back at me. This made me smile. So, I continued with the inspiration knowing the smiling faces would make me smile that night. Then, I stopped to write down some lyrics, and I heard a little voice behind me yell, “More! More! More!” It was a little girl maybe 2-3 years old. She continued chanting until I started playing again. May music bring a smile to our faces.

LYRICS
There’s a wind blowing in
Off of the sea
And, it’s blowing me
Away… hey, hey!

There’s a wind blowing in
Off of the sea
It’s talking to me
Hear it say….

There’s an escape we can take
You know… we can go below…
We can talk
Under the boardwalk

We’ll ascend… blowing up
Down by the sea
Yup, we’re blowing up
And, away… hey!

Where there’s a wind
Blowin’ in
Up against the skin
Listen to the voice within
Hey, hey! Blown away

What is our solution
To the saline solution
Can you see
We’ve left the sea
In a terrestrial evolution

Hear we’re filling the ocean
With our own pollution
Can you see
We’re killing the sea
In a tribal revolution

ABOUT THIS SONG

This song was inspired by a trip to the Shore with my son. It got me thinking that the human body is mostly salt water. I fail to see how we can pollute the sea.

My feet are sinking

As I get a notion
My body’s in motion
The spirit’s en route
Life’s precious… no doubt

Wholesome and fresh

Where do the good people go… do you know?
If the good life they’ve been livin’
Is full with the goodness of givin’

Ya get into heaven
Pass the pearly gates
I can hardly wait

Where do the bad people go… do you know?
If after all the chances
You choose your dances
By selling your soul to the devil
Well… ya go straight to….

ABOUT THIS SONG
Capo 2
E / A / G

Written and recorded on July 6, 2012 in Ocean City, New Jersey. It was the eighth day of heat wave… even the beach was brutal. Then, at about 5PM, this strange fog started rolling in. As I was writing the music, I could see the eyes of children popping out of the mist. It made me think how great it is that kids don’t live in a fog… with their heads in the clouds.
