You take some of this and put it with that
Letting hot air out of fat cats

Not the anarchist… ‘rather an artist
Paint a picture that’s just
Pulling the plug if they’re a thug
Painting a picture of bliss

You take some of this and put it with that
Letting hot air out of fat cats

No politician… ‘rather’a musician
Play a pretty song that is just
Pulling the power if they’re sour
Playing a song such as this

You take some of this and put it with that
Letting hot air out of fat cats

People Getting Grooved at the Paoli, PA Blues Festival

LYRICS
I went to a blues festival
But, it was too sad
Then, I saw some heavy metal
They were too, too mad

May the music move you
Any which way
May the music move you
Every which way
So long as you are grooved

When I went to see some county
It was paved over
Then I went to see classic rock
It was a poor pour [Fab-4] cover (let it flow)

May the music move you
Any which way
May the music move you
Every which way
So long as you are grooved

ABOUT THE SONG
E / A / G / E
E / D

Written and recorded in Paoli, PA and West Chester, PA on October 6, 2012. I stared thinking about the term BluesFest. It kind-of felt like an oxymoron. Ya, know… “Festival Of Sadness”. So, it’s a tongue-in-cheek song about music moving people. Whatever music moves you, may you be moved. In fact, when it’s all said and done… I hope you are grooved from the experience.

LYRICS
I think I
I think I am
I think I can begin

I think it’s time to think
Crawl out from undercover
Crack a smile and wink
True love can never smother
Hug another like your lover
Hug another like your mother
Hug another

Smile, nod… or just say “hi” as they’re passing by
It’s not outrageous for something good to be contagious

Do my part
To start a heart
Let the hate depart

Ya know hate’s got to go
Pack his bag and stow
On the last train to “I don’t know”

LYRICS
Ain’t got the rainy day blues
’cause I see the rainbow hues
Since I can’t go out anyway
Might as well stay in and play

Ain’t got the rainy day blues
Ain’t got to be paying dues
Why don’t we all while away
We can sway, dance and play

LYRICS
Not puppet
Nor marionette
Not God’s pet
You have your freewill
Yet, you bet on remote control
Until you set yourself free…
I guess you’ll always be…
Under control
Still acting possessed by some sort-of troll

Not inmate
Nor Wizard Of Oz
Not God’s fate
You have your freewill
Still, you bet on remote control

Written and recorded on September 17 and 18, 2012 at Marsh Creek and Exton, PA.  I started writing this song while sitting along the lake at Marsh Creek State Park watching a man operate his remote controlled boat.  Do some people think they are controlled by God in the same way?

LYRICS
From across the street… thundering applause
Then, a yell from a junk
Bring on the funk

Life’s your stage
Don’t act your age
Life’s our stage
Unlock your cage

Sometimes it’s best when the song ends
Giving rise to the tide… the audience begins

Clap your hands
Whistle and shout
Let love’s emotion out

[ruckus takes place]

Sometimes the feat of the street
Posses your beat
You don’t wanna fade out
Rather end with a bang
No, don’t wanna fade out [fake fade out]
Want this song to be sang
Sing, sang, sung

The miles of smiles riles
Imagination
Creation
Salvation
Stimulation

ABOUT THIS SONG
Capo 2
Am
Am / C
Am / G

Written and recorded September 14, 2012 in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The song started off being inspired by an old Blondie song on the radio, “Call Me”. Then, while I was writing the guitar part, an unexpected round of applause started from across the street. Next, I was recording the vocals inside the cab of the mobile recording studio… right when it was time to sing “Sometimes the feat of the street posses your beat”… a couple kids caused a severe banging on the vehicle. There is nothing like playing and creating music… especially when there is audience participation.

LYRICS
Do you find it compelling when a cat stalks a mouse?
Do you find yourself watching the burning of a hosue?

Beauty is the I of the beholder

Not a matter of being bolder
Not a matter of growing older

Do you find it compelling when you watch an arrest?
Then, on the other hand… are you willing to witness?

Before going to be… watch this
There goes a piece of JFK’s head
Watch the train wreck
What the heck

Though the choices are vast… wide
Decide
Have a vision and make a decision
Is it in your essence to influence
A positive outcome… by acting smart
Not dumb
All the while
In fun
While not bothering to think “How come?”
Make it done
You’ll find
Making of mind
Will be your litmus test of us
You’ll find
Making of mind
Will determine your test of time

LYRICS
Love that’s made from first aid
Live your life like you wouldn’t trade
Put yourself out… don’t be afraid
Step it up… raise your grade
Guaranteed you’ll be repaid
You weren’t meant to wade
Dive in before you fade

There was a little engine
That thought he could
He could use a little push
If you would

There was a little imagine
A thought that would

Verses 1 in the bush

Understand

Please do not resist the assist
A request for aid

Offering heart felt help

LYRICS
So, you want to go wailing
Why would you want to do a thing like that?

The buffoon pulls out his harpoon
Shooting himself in the foot
Commence the wailing

You piss in your sink and then stop to think
“Wonder why I have disease?”
You foul your fowl because you’re chicken to change
Then stop to think, “Wonder why I have food poisoning?”

Am I thick
We’re why I’m sick

LYRICS
At the heart of the matter
Is it for better or for worse
To water you can lead the horse
But, to think you can make him drink

At the heart of the matter
I’d rather pursue the better
Method, path or way
For now pray the body will stay
’till the mission is seen through
Behind the curtain… under the veil
When we do our due
And, all shine together

At the heart of the matter
We all shine together
